angry RaidInviter

Version: 0.6
by: Saithir [More]

What is angry_RaidInviter?

Angry_RaidInviter is a WoW addon that I’ve created for our guild to make inviting people to raids much easier. We use our forums together with phpRaider to manage signups, and before we had to manually invite people and check who are we missing. This addon makes this process more automated, taking off a bit of work from the raid leader.

In the first version it was only a simple box that accepted a comma-delimited list of players and invited them to a raid group. With time, it gained few more features that make a life of a raid leader easier.

So, how does it work?

In the big edit box, you can enter a comma-delimited list of players. After pressing the Accept button below it, the addon will be ready to run. Pressing Clear will obviously clear the edit box.

Pressing the “Invite!” button will start your raid invites. The addon will invite first 4 online players from your guild that it will found, and after at least one of them joins, it will convert the party to a raid and continue inviting the rest of the players.

The “Report Missing” button and its target dropdown to the right also do what you think they do – the addon will compare the list of players in the edit box with the list of players in your raid and report missing people.

You can also access the above functions from the minimap (or a Broker launcher) menu that will show up on right clicking the icon – this menu is shown on the right side of the screenshot.

Is that all?

Almost. The addon has a number of additional things that can happen automatically when you create the raid. You can configure them in the options panel in your Interface options. Remember that if you enable any of the “Raid Management” options, the following actions will happen after you click “Invite!”, as long as the edit box is not cleared – either by relogging or pressing the “Clear” button.

  • Set Master Looter – this one is pretty obvious. Since we use master looter in our guild runs, it’s a few clicks that the raid leader does not have to make.
  • Set Raid Difficulty – this is simply a convenience. If you enter 10 or less people in the edit box, the difficulty will be set to “10 player (normal)”, else it will be “25 player (normal)”. If you want to enter the heroic versions of the raids, you will unfortunately have to set it yourself.
  • Set Auto Promote – in our raids, we usually promote class masters and officers to raid assistants – for marking, seeing ready checks, inviting/kicking people, setting up ORA or Pally Power or whatever else they need it. This will make it happen automatically when a person with an appropriate rank joins the raid.
  • Auto Promote this rank or higher – this dropdown menu is as obvious as it gets. It is populated with the guild ranks when you log in, so if you join a guild just before leading them to a raid, be sure to relog or reload your UI.
  • Set Loot Threshold and Set Loot Threshold to - as expected, this option will set the loot threshold to one selected in the dropdown when making the raid. Only "Uncommon", "Rare" and "Epic" options availaible, though.

Great stuff, saves a lot of work (and things that get forgotten easily if done manually). Thanks for this one!

Btw, we featured this addon yesterday as part of a new addon round up at MMO Melting Pot (link goes to the post). Hoping we help some more people find it!

Should be fixed now, I was running some heroics and battlegrounds and it did not try to do anything if I didn't click Invite.

I did have some funny behaviour though, I have copied in all of my raid invites but was doing the daily heroic while I waited for raid time.

Throughout the fight I was getting "You are not the group leader" or whatever it is and when I did become leader (as others dropped group) it invited all the people on the list.

I did not click Invite or anything.

I know what you mean, I've seen this behavior as well. It kinda escaped me from testing because it's something you encounter in a daily play, not in a testing session before a raid.

The "you're not a party leader" is there because the addon sees you have a list of people, so it assumes you will be raiding and tries to make it a raid group. Though I thought I had it happening only after pressing Invite. Apparently not

Will fix over the weekend ^^

PS. The CSV will stay of course. I'm a programmer, I like simple.

looks cool mate will be giving it a shot tonight.

I suggest you keep CSV as an option in future (even if you find other ways to build the list up) as it's so bloody easy I have updated our forums (we use this for raid signups) so output the picked raid in csv just for inclusion in this addon
