Reputation Bars  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8.0.0
by: PontusM, mjumnito

DESCRIPTION

Track your reputation with some glorious bars!

Reputation Bars is a modular addon that lets you watch one or more faction standings, i.e. the amount of reputation you have with them. It can be used to track specific factions or automatically track the ones you gain rep with. It is especially useful for those with custom UIs that no longer have the default Blizzard rep bar available.

You can use this while leveling to see your reputation bar or simply as a way to show you how much you have left for various factions as you grind your way to exalted...

FEATURES
* WatchBar module replaces the default Blizzard reputation watch bar.
* WatchBar tracks the currently active faction (similar to Blizzards built in bar).
* WatchBar can automatically switch the active faction to the one you gain reputation with.
* AutoBars module that automatically tracks recently gained reputation.
* StaticBars module to track specific factions that you specify.
* Automatically fadeout bars when no reputation has been gained for a while to avoid cluttering your UI.
* All bars can be customized in order to fit most UI configurations (supports SharedMedia for a larger variety of fonts and bar textures).
* Simply disable any modules you don't need through the configuration UI.

I recommend that you also install the SharedMedia addon for a larger variety of fonts and bar textures.

CONFIGURATION

Configuration is done using the Blizzard addon configuration interface. You can right click on the title bar to open it, or use the slash command /rptb.

This is lovely!

Any chance you'll add the option to let it grow upwards instead of down? Would be really nice

Thanks for the grow upwards... now, here's next request

How about being able to have a linebreak in the bar, so that the faction name comes on one line, and the repnumbers on the next. That way I can use small font and dont have to make the bar so wide, also there'll be no more text outside the bars when width is low...

[Cenarion Expedition]
(4500/6000) (+250)

Also, instead of putting the (250) you just gained for last quest/kill, how about just adding up what you get that session, and simply reset it when I logout/in? That would be nice!

One last thing... kgpanels? I cannot make it work when attaching the frame to the bars... any ideas? something you will once look into?

Anyways, love this, keep up the good work

Ok I'll see what I can do...

Customizing the text layout is something I've considered and your idea about splitting it up on two rows is nice. I'll put it on my todo list!

I'm not sure what the problem is with kgPanels? Can you explain a bit what it is you are doing with it?

No bars

Is it just me or is this a feature/option/error? Every time I log on there are no bars, not even the static bar. When I gain/lose rep the AutoBars show but the static bar never shows till I open the options and check and uncheck them again.

I have autobars and static bars both set to never fade, not sure if these settings are doing it or not. I get no actual LUA errors

Re: No bars

It sounds like a bug in StaticBars. The bars should be there when you login. I will look into it.

AutoBars do not show up until an actual rep change. This is the intended behavior.

Ya I was only mentioning the autobars because I thought maybe my configuration of them was messing things up.

Awesome response time you have and quick turnaround on the bug fix! Great mod keep up the good work!

At first when handing in a quest it would show the factions and rep in "Autobar" section but for some odd reason it is no longer showing the reputations even though the "Autobar" fades in so you can see it but there are no factions underneath it.

When I gain rep, Autobars shows the proper reputation, and it pops in and out of the bar repeatedly until I turn off autobars. Example: Stormwind increases and it shows the bar animated up then it drops back down and disappears then repeats until I turn off autobars.

Edit: Autobars is the only one on. I don't use the other two options.

Edit2: Okay loaded in, pressed the Test Bars button in the autobar config. Shows up just fine. Once it clears, press it again and it shows two bars with info, and one empty bar, then it all dissappears one second later. Pressing this again I get nothing. Similar happens when I am gaining reputation. It shows the bar the first time for my 30 sec timer. Then when I gain rep again .. it shows for 1 second then disappears, then shows again then disappears repeating until I /reload or shut off autobars.

Edit3: Tried without any other addon and it just has an error:
Code:

Ok, that's pretty weird... What are your settings for autohide and remove inactive factions? Maybe that's causing the in and out popping...

Ah, I managed to reproduce it by settings both remove inactive and auto hide to 30 secs.

I also found the cause of your other bug. I was missing some Ace3 dependencies in the libs I loaded. Stupid of me not to test my mod in isolation!

I'll see what I can do about the popping and release a new version asap...

In regards to my post as HanFox on curse.com about Bantos I checked and I meant "BantoBars"...

Either way, as you suggested I tried loading it up with no other addons and of course ran in to the dependency issue... I'll await you to fix your libs and then try again...

1.1.5 still throws errors... when loaded by itself.
