Up till now I've been using Consolid8 for minimising my loot messages, but it seems this Miniloot cleans up these messages more than C8 can. After testing it for a bit today I'm starting to like it. there's a few things that I thought of and would like to put in as a request.

- first and foremost: will you create a sort of GUI for this addon where you can select which types of loot are to be shown in the chat window and which are to be hidden? I'm not interested to see my kill xp printed all of a sudden (it never did before), nor do I care about the amount of cloth/junk my pugmates grab in a random dungeon. Having the ability to check these things in the separate loot window is really handy (especially since C8 completely hides party members' loot without being able to look it up), but I'd rather be in control of what loot is printed and what remains stashed in the loot window.

- right now, the item tooltip only pops up when you click on the item icon when it's printed in chat. Could you change it so that the tooltip shows automatically if you hover over the icon (with a delay of a second-or-so if need be)?

- I see that items are bordered with the colour of their quality.. is it possible to do a similar colouring for quest items? Like, giving them a red or yellow border so that you can see when you pick up something for (or that starts) a quest? It's not vitally important, but I reckoned it might be handy.

- one thing that C8 has and Miniloot hasn't, is that grey quality items are hidden as they're only vendor junk anyway. I suppose this request would connect to the 1st one, but since Miniloot reduces everything to icons only it's not as annoying as the full item name.

These seem to be the key points and I will look into implementing these features. I agree that being able to pick what kind of messages are shown, that quest items have special border color and not just white and that you should be able to hide junk loot -these are good features that would reduce the messages even more and help clarify when you loot important things like quest items, something hard to notice sometimes.

About tooltips popping up on mouseover I am not sure, I will look into it but I do not think that the ScrollFrame supports mouseover detection on specific links, I know it's a bit lame and I also thought about making the tips popup but I will again check but have some doubts it can work.

I am glad you like the addon so far!

*Edit*

I'd like to bring you up to speed, so far I've added quest item border color, if the item is a quest it will be heirloom colored, if it starts a quest it has a red color so it's easier to spot. Hence quest items now follow bag border coloring, not based on their quality in the item itself.
Also you can toggle showing gray items, no more junk if you don't wish to see it!
In addition I started on a simple config screen instead, hence /miniloot would just show it and you can select the options from it instead of slash commands. It's not yet made but I started on the framework, also will support filtering specific things like XP, Gold, Honor, e.g. so you can hide some of them if you are not interested looking at that information.

the last version sure solved my situation, tks a lot

but wile messing with the slash /commands "roll & rolls" don't seems to change anything

/miniloot roll 1 or 0 do pretty much the same as blizz default apart from the colors xD

/miniloot rolls 1 or 0 do the rolls result summary (dno what would be the expected to be difference from enable to disable)

*Edit 2*

Added all the suggestions except tooltips on item mouseover in the chat, this one proved to be a pain, maybe later! 1.2 should be up soon.

*Old*

Hi again Namtab, glad to see the crafting bug fixed. Now thing is I've looked at my bool() function that translates 0 and 1 into true and false and seems that I had made an mistake so it always returns true, hence roll and rolls settings are always on.

I am working on a simple config window instead so the slash will bring that up and no more fiddling with slash commands.

*Edit*

Implemented Maelynn's suggestions, made a config GUI.
Unfortunately haven't found a way to make the tooltips show when you mouse over the item icon.
I also need a bit more time to add the filter on the GUI, so you can pick what events to show and what to ignore, for example you can avoid looking how much XP you gained.
Testing the changes made today and tomorrow before you see the new version up.

Heh, what Namtab said.

Aside from having to /reload ui to get the config window closed, I get an error after hitting Enter when typing "/miniloot cfg":

Code:
Date: 2011-03-31 16:26:43
ID: 1
Error occured in: Global
Count: 1
Message: ..\AddOns\MiniLoot\core.lua line 352:
   attempt to index field 'hideEvents' (a nil value)
Debug:
   [C]: ?
   MiniLoot\core.lua:352: ?()

      ..\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:4162
   [C]: ChatEdit_ParseText()
   ..\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:3825: ChatEdit_SendText()
   ..\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:3863: ChatEdit_OnEnterPressed()
   [string "*:OnEnterPressed"]:1:
      [string "*:OnEnterPressed"]:1
AddOns:
<snip>
I got another error when I checked the 'reputation' box at the bottom end:

Code:
Date: 2011-03-31 16:27:33
ID: 2
Error occured in: Global
Count: 1
Message: ..\AddOns\MiniLoot\core.lua line 351:

Debug:
   [C]: ?
   MiniLoot\core.lua:351:
      MiniLoot\core.lua:351
AddOns:
<snip>
And a third error occurs when I handed in a repeatable quest that gave me an item (I suspect it's the item giving that's the culprit here, not the repeatable quest):

Code:
Date: 2011-03-31 16:38:18
ID: 1
Error occured in: Stubby
Count: 1
Message: Error: Original call failed after running hooks for: ChatFrame_OnEvent
 ..\AddOns\MiniLoot\core.lua line 535:
   attempt to index field 'hideEvents' (a nil value)
Debug:
   (tail call): ?
   [string "*:OnEvent"]:1:
      [string "*:OnEvent"]:1
AddOns:
<snip>
I also looked at the Loot Window after a few minutes (handed in Unidentified Plant Parts, so I got bags of plants and CE rep), as I get no more icons printed in my chat window. The Loot Window was empty, save the Guild MotD. :s

I'm sure these are just some loose ends left after the additions you put in (for which my gratitude ^^), just thought I'd post the ones I found as a bit of help.

I am very sorry, please try typing this after you login:
Code:
/run MiniLootDB=nil ReloadUI()
Since the .hideEvents is a new table, when it loads from the saved settings it does not find it and the rest of the addon assumes it's there, thus giving errors.

Do tell if the above one fixed it, in that case I will add a quick fix to avoid this issue.

It worked.

I did have to remind myself to set the config window again (which now also has a longer list at the bottom than just 'reputation'), but the forced cleanup seems to have done the trick.

Uploaded a simple fix (1.2b) that should deal with this issue and you won't have to do the macro trick below to get it working again.

Note that you do not need 1.2b, it's only so it considers the saved variables change in the new version, running the macro would have fixed the issue and it won't happen again -unless you purposely edit the saved variables file and remove the one table from it.

It's a minor issue, probably to do with the font difference, some use custom fonts and others use the default one. Like many I too use a custom font so the width can change hence I'll fix this by making the dialog width and height be calculated from the :GetStringWidth/Height() widget to get the proper dimensions. Atm it's a static size, again it's a minor thing and I will fix it but for next release.
