Dynamic Loot Management System (DLMS)

Version: 8.2.2
by: Auz [More]

DLMS is a complete and full featured loot management system. It enables you to have complete control over what you loot, either generally by Category, Value, Quality or specifically using the NEW Loot White & Black lists.

You can loot everything or nothing. If all you want to loot is Cloth, you can do that. Want to loot cloth and any Rares (blue items) that drop, you can do that too. DLMS is a very powerful looting tool.

Once installed and run for the first time, it will set itself up to loot everything to give it a chance to build it's category database (which it bases its category options from) so, it might be a little spammy at first but, the database will build very quickly and eventually, all you will see is the occasional message when it finds something new.

DLMS will also auto-sell any grey (or BoE Uncommon weapons and armor) items with value upon visiting a vendor and if that vendor can repair, will also auto-repair your gear. There are options to turn these off.

DLMS can also be asked to auto-roll on green or blue items while grouped or auto-pass on all loot rolls.

Options Include:

  • Loot All and GO! - Tells DLMS to loot everything.
  • Enable DLMS - Enables the addon.
  • Enable DLMS Button - enables the new UI element.
  • Use WoW Messages - Use WoW's standard chat messages when looting instead of DLMS messages.
  • Show "Not Looted" Mesages - Tells you if an item wasn't looted.
  • Keep Loot Window Open - Keeps the loot window from auto-closing when DLMS has finished looting.
  • Auto Sell Junk - Auto Sell grey items with value from your bags. Includes Soulbound. Auto selling is now throttled and there is a new slider in options allowing you to adjust the "throttle/rate" in which DLMS sells items.
  • Auto Sell BoE Greens (optional)
  • Auto Repair - Auto Repair your gear while at a vendor that can repair. Will use guild funds first, player funds last.
  • Auto Roll Greed on Uncommon - will auto roll greed on green items while grouped.
    • Auto Roll on Rare - When checked, will also auto roll greed on blue items while grouped.
    • Auto Pass - Will pass on all loot rolls.
  • Loot by Value - Loot items of a certain value.
  • Loot by Quality - Loot items of a certain quality.
  • Loot by Category - Only loot items from a certain category such as Trade Goods - Cloth, etc.
  • Enforce Category Policy - Will tell DLMS to strictly adhere to category selections.

Added the ability to manage the Autosell a Loot lists via options. Clicking the associated button in options opens the list in a scrolling window. Clicking the X in the list will remove the item from the list.

Added an option to the button that allows you to see your bag value (total value of all items DLMS will auto sell based on your options). You can view either your player money or bag value - options in the drop-down menu (SHFT+RClick the button to access it's menu -> Show Money -> Player Money or Bag Value)

DLMS's soul purpose is to help you manage your inventory and making the act of looting more efficient by allowing you to loot only what you want to loot without having to stop and "clean out your bags" as frequently.

UI element. I may have gotten a little carried away with it but, I think it looks good and is fairly imformative. There is an option to disable it if you don't like/use it.

Category options update on the fly without having to reload the UI.

Loot White & Black lists. Accessible using /dlms w_list or /dlms b_list. Giving you complete control over what you want and don't want to loot.

Autosell Safe & Ignore lists. Accessible using /dlms as_safe or /dlms as_ignore. Giving you complete control over what you want and don't want to sell.

Command line usage: /dlms [w_list | b_list | as_safe | as_ignore] [add | remove] [itemlink]

e.g. /dlms w_list add [itemlink]

You can add as many links as will fit in the chat edit box which i believe is about 3.

You can also add and remove these items in inventory by using L-ALT+R/LClick and R-ALT+R/LClick

L-ALT+R-Click - Add/Remove the item from your Loot Black List
L-ALT+L-Click - Add/Remove the item from your Loot White List
R-ALT+R-Click - Add/Remove the item from your Autosell Ignore List.
R-ALT+L-Click - Add/Remove the item from your Autosell Safe List.

DLMS will also tell you what it will do with the item in the items tooltip.

All I can say is that, DLMS has become a mainstay in my addon arsenal and I can not play with out it. Give it a try, play with the options and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.

If you appreciate my work and enjoy DLMS, donations are welcome!

8.2.2
- Added the ability to manage the autosell and loot lists via options.

8.2.1
- Updated for 8.2
- Rewrote loot logic
- Added a new slider under vendor options enabling the ability to "tune" the throttle/rate in which DLMS sell items.
- Changed the values with which DLMS bases it's sell throttle, now uses "world" latency.
- Added the ability to show either Player Money or Bag Value (total value of sellable items in your bags, based on your options) on the DLMS button. Bag/inventory value is always displayed in the tooltip.
- Squashed a couple of other bugs that crept up relating to SetPoint().

8.1.8
- Revamped/Rewrote autosell code: It is now throttled based on "latency".
- Removed the "Soulbound" check for selling grey quality items, DLMS will now sell ALL grey items with value. The IsSouldbound check is still in place for selling Uncommon ("Green") quality items, it will only sell BoE greens if you have that option selected.
- Minor appearance changes to the DLMS button.
- Revised the version to reflect the current interface version for WoW that it was updated for. e.g. v8.1.8 reflects WoW interface version 8.1 with the third number indicating any changes/updates to DLMS.

2.1.4
- Corrected an issue where DLMS would occasionally throw an error when mousing over an item in either a quest acceptance or completion dialog where the ItemSubtype would return "nil".

2.1.3 - Corrected a scaling issue.
- Corrected the version.
- Added scaling options for the UI element.

2.0.2 - fixed an issue that was allowing DLMS to loot items on the Loot Black List.
2.0.1 - Minor tweaks to loot logic.

2.0 -
1. Added a UI element.
2. Added a Loot White and Black list as well as Autosell Safe and Ignore lists.
3. Added option to show what was not looted.
4. Updated Category options to update on the fly without having to reload the UI.
5. Misc fixes/updates.

1.1 Beta - Resolved a conflict between ArkInventory and DLMS

I love this addon, does almost everything I need it to. I'd like if it went a step further than auto deleting junk and had the option to auto delete everything that is not on the auto-loot list, this would make looting very efficient for me doing sfk carries as I could "clear" all the dead bodies and only pick up the stuff I want (green armor pieces for twink loot and blue boes).

Re: DLMS is back!

Hey Auz so DLMS should work out of the box in BFA 8.3 right? I'm getting some behavior where DLMS will print to chat each time it executes to do something that my bags are full...any idea for how to make it think my bags are not full? Thanks!

Auto roll need?

May you please tell me how to "auto roll need" instead of greed? Maybe I just have to change a # or something around in the DLMS.lua file?

Thanks. Farming a dungeon and this would make things SOOoo much easier!

DLMS is back!

DLMS has now been updated! It is not dead, RL issues, etc have prevented me from doing a lot with it for a while, but from a game stand-point, I have continued to work on it in the background and use it, daily.

I have revised the auto sell code. I have removed the Soulbound check on grey items. That check is still in place for BoE greens if you have that option checked, but for greys, since you start running into an aweful lot of soulbound grey items, especially in Legion, not selling greys based on soulbound seemed pointless.

Auto-selling is now throttled based on latency and while testing, it has shown that it will sell every sellable grey or, optionally, BoE green in your bags.

I made some minor appearance changes to the DLMS button and the options page can now once again be called with SHFT+Left Click.

Plus some other minor revisions to code, etc.

Hope there is still some interest in this addon, it has become a small hobby of mine and I intend to add at least a couple more features, specifically for managing the lists.

Another little issue concerning DLMS : to have DLMS activated for auto-looting i have to use the /reload command after logging into the game. Otherwise this is the default Blizzard auto-looting stuff that is used.

I have not seen that, I will look into it. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

A note on DLMS's Autosell feature.

When you open a vendor window, DLMS just runs thru your bag and attempts to sell every item that meets the autosell criteria. I have noticed that after about 15 items or so, I start to get "That object/item is busy." errors messages from wow and those items do not get sold. I am assuming that this is either due to latency and the servers ability to respond to a sell request and/or a limitation on how many requests can be performed in that very, very short amount of time. this causes at least two issues. One, the total amount calculated (item count and money made) at the end of the autosell routine, are inaccurate. Two, you have to close and reopen the window more than once to sell every item that is supposed to be sold.

Due to this, I am tryng to decide between two options.

Option one. Limit the number of items sold when the vendor window is open to 12. That does eliminate the "busy" issue and it would give you a chance to recover an item that was "accidently" sold (e.g. you didn't want to autosell the item but, forgot to put it in your Autosell Ignore List) but, will require you to close and reopen the vendor window more than once.

Option two. Create a coroutine in an OnUpdate that fires when the MERCHANT_SHOW event is handled in DLMS and as long as the merchant window remains open, DLMS will continue to sell items. This way, I could throttle the sell requests and this would resolve the "busy" error and you wouldn't have to close and reopen the vendor window but, you may not get a chance to recover an item that was accidently sold.

Both options have their Pro's and Con's.

Internet Problems

Hey all, I had lost my internet connection for a while and was unable to post anything but, internet is back up!

@Leishmania: Thank you and glad you enjoy using DLMS. The category options in 1.0 will only update after a game /reload, a downfall I have overcome in 2.0. Category options will now update on the fly without a reload.

As for DLMS 2.0, it was about finished when I lost internet. There are some things I need to finish up before I release it and now that I will have access to the game again, I can test and hopefully, it won't be to much longer.

Not building category lists

Great idea for an addon. I just have one issue, it won't build/populate categories for me. I downloaded it this morning and have played (and looted) with it over the last 3-4 hours. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I found the optional database download and so far it's working wonderfully! I also found a work around for the category system not taking quality into account. Disable all the armor and weapon choices in the category and set the quality to the desired threshold. This allows for armor and weapons to be looted based on quality instead. Again, outstanding addon
