Looks like the problem lies either within Outfitter, or as I noted before, possibly a byproduct of the weapon swap lockouts and addons external to the (sic) limited and frustrating equipment manager.

Back to sqaure one for me I suppose. At least I can still just hit Select on my PSX controller and two clicks will get my outfit changed.
I'll take another look, but I'm still not sure what could be causing this for you.

I have never hear of the addon you mention. TrinketMenu, which I also use, cannot swap out trinkets via its buttons either (but it can activate them at least).

This may be a byproduct of Blizzard's kneejerk over the hill weapon swap lockout to prevent rogue DPS from skyrocketing. You wouldn't believe the nasty bug that happens if you try to use a user created macro, even manually, to switch weapons during combat. Let's just say that /logout is your only friend at that point.

I'll disable all but Outfitter and any dependancy it has (does it even have any that aren't embedded?) and see if it still happens. If it does...well, again, byproduct of an over the top kneejerk move from Blizzard likely.

I admire the fact that you continue on the the face of adversity the way you do. I tip my hat to you, kind sirs.

Sure, I'll add that to the todo list. I'm planning on re-doing the scripting system to use a "modular" approach where you can select features to add to any script, and setting the tracking mode would be nice for that.

Hey Mundocani!

I've got a feature request, I'm not sure if this is the place to put it. I've noticed since you've got the ability to switch tracking for fishing in the fishing script, if you can do something similar for track humanoids in druid: cat form?

It's not vital, of course, but it would be kinda nifty.

There's actually a more sinister problem with weapon switching than just addons. Even user created macros can no longer switch weapons in combat. In fact, if you attempt it, there's a nasty bug that crops up. What will happen is the items you're attempting to switch to are greyed out in the bags and cannot be selected at all, even manually, until you logout and log back in.

Yeah, that was fun on my priest when I tried to hit a rat in Dalaran with my fishing pole, got into combat, and after MISSING -sigh- the rat clicked my No Fishies! macro my mainhand/offhand were completely locked out. And of course as luck would have it, my dungeon queue popped right then so I zoned into the dungeon. Couldn't get the weapons back on so I told the group I'd log real fast to fix it. Got vote kicked and had to eat the dungeon finder debuff.

Needless to say, Blizzard hasn't been thinking very well about the ramifications of its kneejerk lockouts lately.

~AHEM~ Anyway...

Mundocani, I have a question for you. I recently tried enabling the Outfitter Bar to swap out my outfits (out of combat obviously) between the Healbot Smite set and my Normal (heal) set for my priest, but neither button works at all. They highlight when I click them, but there's no response or item switch. I have no scripts attached to them, so they should act as if I had chosen the set from the Outfitter option menu in the character sheet popout. Maybe you could point me in the right direction in case I'm doing something wrong (overlooking something, etc.).

Thank you for your time!

Well that's rather annoying given that I primarily use Outfitter to make sure my rogue has a dagger equipped in his main hand when stealthed for backstabs and ambushes and then automatically switch to his preferred main hand weapon when he drops out of stealth (usually having just done a backstab or ambush).

This is undoubtedly related to that but today the following popped up in my taint.log right after ambushing someone.

Code:
12/25 10:57:51.984 An action was blocked in combat because of taint from Outfitter - EquipCursorItem()
12/25 10:57:51.984      Interface\AddOns\Outfitter\OutfitterEquipment.lua:720 ExecuteEquipmentChangeList()
12/25 10:57:51.984      Interface\AddOns\Outfitter\OutfitterEquipment.lua:976 Function()
12/25 10:57:51.984      Interface\AddOns\Outfitter\MC2SchedulerLib.lua:241 OnUpdate2()

Blizzard disabled the ability for addons to automatically change weapons for you during combat (most likely due to a rogue exploit allowing automated poison stacking). You'll have to move the outfit to the Equipment Manager (click the W next to the outfit) and then drag the EM button to an action bar or use a macro like

/equipset YourSetName

to do the swap for you.

I think it's requiring a hardware event, which may be why you're able to use it with a /script command. If I do it directly in Outfitter then there's an error about "An addon has been blocked from an action blah blah blah". Unless they changed it in a recent minipatch /shrug.

Re the cycling, it forced pitbull, xperl etc to reload all info for a toon overriding the more detailed info for the raid, like low hp. Multiply this by the half dozen in a 25 man using it, and the every few secs it happened and you had UI issues for many.

Edit: I made a macro of it, it seems only limited in the amount of changes per minute.

I'm just shifting from itemrack to outfitter due to a lack of support for itemrack. There are a number of things outfitter does as well, a few it does better, and one thing I wish it had. That last is itemrack's ability to make a separate bar of just a few slots, the ones I hotswap all the time. I put my mainhand, offfhand, ranged, trinket1, and trinket2 slots there, and often my helm, and neck since they frequently have clickie effects.

Is there any thought to doing something similar? You have an outfit bar. That would work if instead of an outfit one could also add a 'slot' button that had a perpendicular menu of the items that would fit in that slot. The reason I prefer to define by slot, not outfit, is then it can be generic to all chars, not defined item by item, toon by toon, across 20 toons.

I have *no* idea how well that would mesh, but would appreciate it if you could consider ways to add this functionality. Actually adding it will depend on your interest and how hard it might be to do.

Thank you, Raederle

Hiya!

Been using outfitter since forever and it's imo the best one.

I love that you made available the ability to change what to optimize for... i used to have a lot of outfits , now i can just change one around. I have tried optimizing for Tankpoints though and it seems that first of all it generates a heck of a lot of outfits to try on. When im at bank its over 22million outfits.

That takes a while to go through as you can imagine , and i can just select the most amount of tankpoints based on the tooltip in a lot less than that.

If it is due to the amount of gear i have on me and in bank (i have full outfits for boomkin and resto too , plus a lot of saved feral dps gear) Maybe there could be a 'filter' to take away all items with spellpower for instance , that would reduce it a lot. Then maybe go about making a list of all helms , rank them by tankpoints and then just use the top 3 or something in calculation.

Just some suggestions.

I posted a comment in the WeightWatchers community too. He is looking to build some outfit creator and i gave him a tip to maybe work with you to implement WW score calculation into Outfitter.

Keep up the good work !
