PortalBox  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1
by: iindigo [More]

PortalBox is a simple addon that gathers all of your portal and teleport spells into a single aesthetically-pleasing window and tracks your Runes of Teleportation and Runes of Portals. Its main window can be invoked by the following commands:

/port
/portalbox
Clicking on its minimap icon

New in 1.1:
• The PortalBox minimap button can now be locked.

• Tol Barad buttons.

• TOC updated for 4.3.

Fixed in 1.1:
• Cataclysm-specific errors fixed. Thanks Kharthus!

• Level requirements for portals and teleports updated to be in line with Cataclysm.

• "Keep window open after casting" option now acts properly under all circumstances.

• Version raised to 1.1 to account for dodzilla's fan update versioned at 1.0.

1.1 - Based on 0.9 fan update. Added Tol Barad, adjusted layout to accommodate more buttons, and brought "learned at" levels in line with Cataclysm. Also added minimap icon locking feature. Updated TOC to 4.3. Version number changed to 1.1 advance past dodzilla's 1.0 fan update.
0.8 - Added option to detach button from minimap, added right-click minimap button to open options panel, added /port config and /portalbox config commands, and fixed old slash commands. Fixed "close upon casting" bug. TOC updated for 3.3.
0.7 - Changed under-the-hood code to work on non-English clients, added compact mode, made the main window movable, and changed window closure upon casting to close at the start of a cast instead of afterwards. Also changed the strata level of the main window and minimap button to something more appropriate.
0.6 - Added Dalaran support, minimap button hiding, window closure upon casting, and untrained portal dimming. Fixed an error that occurs upon first run of addon. Also fixed bug of eating keystrokes while window was open and made a couple of aesthetic changes. Version number 0.6 used to avoid any possible confusion caused by the 0.5 fan update
0.2 - Added support for Horde mages, changed close button aesthetics
0.1 - Initial Public Release

TOC Error

your TOC file is out of date, you should change the TOC number from 20300 to 20400

Also, you can't color the Title because then it fails to be alphabetized properly in the in-game AddOn list...

Thanks for the heads up on the TOC file, it's something I completely forgot about (I personally always have "Load outdated addons" checked, so it never bugged me about it). I'll upload an updated version soon.

To Styffydawg: I'm not entirely sure. It really depends on my computer situation, since my main computer kinda fried itself and I've had to fall back to an old 1ghz machine that runs WoW at lowest settings at around 3-6 FPS (bleh). I'll try to get it out as soon as possible, though.

I have a Horde mage with all teleports and portals. Let me know if you need help with testing or anything.

This bug happens when logging in. I'm a lvl 30 horde mage atm so I'm not sure? I use a bunch of addons, and my bar addon is Bartender3, if that matters at all. This error only happens when loading your addon though, let me know what you need to know to figure it out if possible.

Also I noticed that the frame strat is behind my pitbull frames and Quartz bar. Can you bring it higher up? Would also love it if it wouldn't show portals I didn't know yet as well, or greying them out would be even better.

Addon looks great though.

Thought of something else, minimap icon hide feature? I like it but I don't need it on all my characters, even if I can turn it off in the addon list.

To IceShadow...

That's an odd bug, and one that I have not encountered during my testing. I was using a level 80 premade on the WotLK beta server to test the Horde functionality, however; perhaps this bug only shows itself on live. I really don't know.

As for your feature requests, I'll see what I can do about frame strata. I don't know about things like hiding/dimming unlearned portals and adding a hide minimap button feature. I really am a greenhorn when it comes to XML and LUA - I'm lucky to have been able to get this hacked together as it is. I'll see what I can do, though.

Code:
<string>:"compat.lua":20: bad argument #1 to 'rad' (number expected, got nil)
<string>:"compat.lua":20: in function `cos'
Portalbox\portalbox.lua:3: in function `PortalBox_MinimapButton_Reposition'
Portalbox\portalbox.lua:19: in function `portalbox_OnEvent'
<string>:"*:OnEvent":1: in function <[string "*:OnEvent"]:1>
I installed bugsack to find out what was doing it further and this is what I got. Hope this helps, I like my PortalBox!

Edit: I'm using Chinchilla Minimap

Ok so I've started using this but I use pMinimap and the minimap button looks fugly. Is there anyway I can remove the minimap button?

Also, any chance of being able to move the position of the box?

Thanks

CalciumIRL,

While I fail to see how it's "fugly", there is currently no way to disable the minimap icon. This feature should appear in version 0.3, however, if everything goes as planned.

The minimap button doesn't look great with pMinimap as it sticks out is what I'm saying, it's not the button itself. And thanks

Also, what about moving the portal box and locking it into a different position? It currently covers some AddOns and half overlap it making the buttons disappear.

Thanks

I would love for the PortalBox window to close once you've clicked a portal.

I'll see if I can make it an option in 0.3.

When do you plan to have 0.3 available? I'm really looking forward to the new features.
