Progression (Pre-Alpha)

Version: 30000.2
by: dewin [More]

This is an early pre-release, but should(tm) be stable enough for ordinary use.

This addon only works for WoW 3.0 (PTR and Beta), and will not work in the live realms until patch 3.0 is live.

Progression is an interface for configuring multiple hybrid XP/Pet XP/Reputation bars.

This is an early pre-release which is still lacking a lot of core functionality, including a great deal of customization options.

What this can do:
* Watch multiple factions at once
* Have separate bars for XP, faction, pet XP, or have them all on the same bar (click to rotate between them) to save space.
* Optionally automatically switch a bar to the last faction/etc that most recently received a change. (Or you can just left-click to cycle between available settings)
* Fade bars and/or hide them entirely after a set amount of time without changes.

The basic premise of Progression is a 'stack' of bars.

Each bar in the stack can be configured to watch one or more items (such as Experience, Pet XP, Booty Booty faction, or All Factions). Left-clicking the bar will then cycle between displaying the selected items. You can also configure the bar to automatically switch to the next item in its watchlist that changes.

The stack of bars can be moved with ALT+left-drag. It can be resized with CTRL+left drag.

Right-clicking opens the configuration menu, where you can quickly select what item to display, add/remove items to the watchlist, create more bars, or reposition the bar within the stack.

if you have multiple bars watching the same item and they are all set to automatically switch, only the least-recently updated bar will change. This can be used to show the 'last three reputations to change', for instance, by setting up three bars that all watch "All Factions". You can simplify this process by setting up just one bar and then cloning it (via the menu item) twice.

Known issues with this prerelease:
* Tooltips don't show.
* If you set all of your bars to hide when inactive and they finish hiding, you can no longer access the right click menu to edit them.
* Customization isn't here yet.
* Menus can go offscreen if you have too many factions.

Features to be added later:
* Customizable text display and size (partially implemented, but no UI for it yet)
* Customizable colors, fade times, etc.
* Tradeskills. Opening your tradeskill UI or skinning something might cause a progress bar to display which can warn you if you are nearing or at the skill cap (forget to train skinning last time in town?)

Less likely features:
* Ability to show reputation as one long bar from Hated to Exalted instead of individual bars for each level of rep.

* Reloadui no longer required
* Settings now save.
* Minor changes to default colors.
* Lots of other misc fixes.

Work is currently halted due to the PTR being shut down for the last time during development though, hopefully will resume later this week
Hoping for an update soon, looks nice!

a few nice new features to make this mod even more complete and nicer looking:
* option to auto switch watched rep when entering a new area like in diplomancer
This isn't likely anytime soon (I'm trying to get a stable release first), though it would be mostly trivial for another mod to add this functionality if combined with bars set to autoswitch faction:
Code:
if ProgessionXP.Modes["rep_Cenarion Expedition"] then
    ProgessionXP.Modes["rep_Cenarion Expedition"]:Notify()
end

* option for more textures or even something fancy like xsparky:
http://files.wowace.com/sw-x.html
This URL doesn't work, but http://s.wowinterface.com/preview/pvw11639.png does.

Textures are definitely doable. Something like xparky is probably beyond my skill at this point though. (This is my first addon, FWIW)

* option to see the rep bar in colors like used for item quality depending on the level of rep you're in:
When the ability to edit colors kicks in, you'll be able to set text, fill, background and bonus colors per individual 'state' (Normal, Rested, Capped, Trainable, No Pet, Rep Not Found, and all 8 faction levels), as well as being able to set a dedicated color for a given faction if so desired.

Right now the faction colors are 'imported' from the standard faction bar colors, XP colors are stolen from bongos2 , and pet XP colors use the only distinct color I could think of that wasn't used (deep blue is reserved for tradeskills)

hated=red (exeption here), neutral is grey, friendly is white, honored is green, revered is blue and exalted would be purple
