Dominos  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 10.2.26
by: Tuller [More]

Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:

  • Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
  • Contain a relatively minimal feature set
  • Be easy to use
  • Be stable

It includes the following features:
  • 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
  • A movable experience/reputation bar.
  • Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
  • Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show, and at what opacity.
  • Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
  • The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
  • Masque support
  • LibKeyBound support
  • Sticky frames (FlyPaper)
  • The ability to move buttons in combat
  • A movable casting bar (optional)
  • Configurable right click targeting
  • Configurable self cast key settings
  • Configurable Possess/Override/Vehicle Bar support

...and will probably not end up with the following:
  • A stats bar
  • A minimap bar
  • True variable length bars

Here's how you use it:
  • To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
  • To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
  • To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
  • To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.
  • Hold down alt while moving a bar to disable sticky bars

...and this is why I wrote it:
  • I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
  • I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
  • I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.

You can use the following to add extra functionality:
  • tullaRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
  • OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
  • Masque - Allows you to change the look of buttons
  • AdiButtonAuras - Adds buff and debuff highlighting + duration text

THIS IS A MAJOR BREAKING UPDATE

Action Buttons in retail are no longer derived from ActionBarButtonTemplate. The behavior in classic should be about the same as it was before.

Benefits:
  • You'll (hopefully) no longer see cases where action buttons would randomly stop working when switching zones.
  • Generally action button behavior should be more consistent across all action buttons

Drawbacks:
  • Press and hold casting is no longer supported. (This is an API limitation of using completely custom action buttons)
  • Addons that modify the stock action won't just work with Dominos anymore. They'll need to code in their own support (sorry).

Other Changes:
  • (Retail) Out of range coloring is now builtin
  • (Retail) Spell activation glows can now be disabled. They're also a bit less dramatic.

Been using Dominos for a week or so and i LOVE it, This is my first "action bar" addon since ive been playing the game. One request, Would it be possible to make it so you can add colored Frames around the bars? or the groups of bars? something like this http://media.curse.com/adjust_images...00/111/720.jpg where we can change the colors? Thats all, THanks again keep up the great work!

Thats all, THanks again keep up the great work!
Not something I consider really in scope at this time.

Druid form switches

I currently use bongos3, and have loved it for my 70 hunter and my 70 shaman. I recently rolled a druid. When I got to lvl 20, I noticed that bongos does not switch to a new action bar like it does for the bear form. Does dominos switch to separate action bars for each different form?

If not, does anyone know one that does? I don't like the stock action bars, so I really don't want to have to use them.

Thanks

Both Bongos and Dominos will do this, but you have to set them up for it. It should be covered in the documentation for each.

By documentation, do you mean the addon description on this site? Or is it something I access in the game?

I figured it out for Bongos3...is it the same for dominos? I figure I should probably switch if the support for bongos3 is not going to be there anymore.

Thanks

I got that issue too. I use ButtonFacade and problem persists every ButtoFacade skin i've tested. So is ButtonFacade support real?

Reverse row order, Possess Bar priority.

In my priest layout i use main (1) actionbar as 6x2 and switch it to 2nd page on harm target. Keys are 1-6 on bottom part and Alt1-6 on top part.

All goes OK, but Teron. There are 2 problems:
1) Possess buttons placed on top row (with Alt1-6)
I have my own hackish solution:
"local row = rows - ceil(i / cols)" at string 264 of frame.lua

So 1st suggestion: "Reverse rows" checkbox somewhere in options. Best to have it for each bar, but same for all bars is OK.

2) Possess Bar priority under Harm target priority.
I know Tuller work on fix, so just waiting...

Hi, just switched from Bongos and I'm liking this a lot. I do have a simple request though. For the Bag bar, can you make an option to make it one bag again? I use arkinventory, so I don't need to see my Keyring or other 4 bags. The main backpack icon is enough for me.

Otherwise, this is a really great mod

Faded Opacity and Warrior Stances

it seems that the fade out amount is the same as the bars normal transparency
example:i try to put the bag bar to only show on mouseover but when i adjust the fadeout amount it is the same as if i would put the bar transparency itself to 0 so the bar wont show up ever
What are your opacity and faded opacity settings?
I'm having this same issue. I've tried setting the regular opacity to max, and the faded to 0. Then, it is always "invisible", even when I mouseover it.

Then, I tried regular opacity to 0 and faded to max. It is still "invisible", even when I mouseover it.

Does the faded opacity refer to mouseover? Or is there something else that triggers it to be faded vs regular?

Also, I have another question. Is there a way to have the bars automatically page when I change my warrior's stance? In the original Blizz bars, when I clicked on Def Stance, it would automatically page to that associated action bar, and hide the other stance action bars (i.e. Battle and Bezerker). I can't seem to get this to work with Dominos. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The formula for your bar's opacity when not moused over is:
opacity * faded opacity.

So if your bar is normally completely transparent, then your opacity when not moused over is:
0 * <faded opacity> = 0%

Your main action bar should automatically switch in when in a form. If they're not, then you've got some sort of error happening.

One bag option:
I'm leaning towards yes.

Possess bar priority change:
Will happen, likely today unless I'm lazy.

Something else Tuller concerning the one bag option for your consideration... it adds a count to make it easy to know how many slots are available. Since I use Bagnon, that's mainly what I want it for. I know there are other mods that can do it but like many others, I'm trying to keep my ui as light on mods as possible. Thanks as always Tuller for some awesome mods! :P

Yes. That's what the not so documented but magical showstates feature is for.

Basically, stick a macro option in that box, and the bar will show only under that condition. So, stick in [combat], and the bar will show in combat. Stick in [nocombat], and the bar will only show when not in combat.

For more information about macro options, go here:
