GrimUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.0.0.00
by: Grimsin [More]

What is this? - This is a full replacement for the default Blizzard user interface(UI). The general idea came from a UI known as MazzleUI. The GrimUI core itself controls your unit frames, artwork, some action buttons and a whole lot more! Best of all, it does this with out you spending hours on placing frames. It looks and functions much like MazzleUI did, it is also similar to nUI if you are familiar with that. GrimUI out of the box should require no setup itself. Macaroon handles the main action buttons and is included. GrimUI will setup a default Macaroon layout. Check out GrimUI on Facebook GrimUI Fan Page

How do I use it? - First you must download this file. Then back up your current Interface and WTF folders in your World of Warcraft directory, in case you decide to revert back. It is best to delete your current WTF and any AddOns in the AddOn folder however GrimUI should install and function with other AddOn's just fine. Place the the files in the zip file you downloaded into the Interface/AddOns folder.

When you first enter the game on a fresh install the chat frames may appear funny, or its possible sometimes for errors to pop on fresh installs if your say under attack when you log in or in a party or raid. If your chat frames or other frames are out of place Right-Click the GrimUI button on the right side of the screen to access the various reset buttons in the GrimUI options panel. The options panel can also be accessed through the normal Blizzard AddOn Options.

GrimUI should now be setup! Other AddOns that are included with the GrimUI for your convenience may require additional setup.

Will it work for me? - This UI was designed on a wide screen in a 1920 x 1200 resolution. It was also designed to self adjust for any resolution. I have tested it at other resolutions and they seem to work fine. If you have any problems please post them in the bug section.

Please post bug reports here - GrimUI Bug Reports

Will it work in the future? - You can update most AddOns included in the package either here or at Curse without losing your settings. The GrimUI interface will continue to be updated and grow as long as their is sufficient interest from the community AND motivation for its coders Any help testing, or coding would be greatly appreciated. Donations are even more appreciated! See donation button at the top or bottom of this page!

Would you like to see something added to the GrimUI? Or changed? Or maybe even removed?

Post feature requests here - GrimUI Feature Request

NOTE/UPDATE: Version 4.0.01 Has many variable changes, a fresh install is recommended!! If you experience errors please try removing the GrimUI.wtf file.

PartyFrames are now movable as well as most other frames!!!! Ctrl-LeftClick just above your name or a party members name to grab a hold of the frame and move it. To reset the frames click the rest button in the GrimUI options panel.

You can attempt to use the WTF's from previous versions of the interface, but note this does not always work and can cause other problems.
Directions for using previous WTF files can be found here - Dealing with WTF's

Want a look we don't provide? Create a skin and submit it, it could be in the next release! - GrimUI Skin Templates

Wait, so you are having bar issues that involve the context menu? Are you playing a druid? Give me more details and I will see what i can do. I had not had a chance to look at more then just a warlock since legion so i had not noticed the removal of stances. It would certainly make a difference to how the context menu functions and what button sets its using.

Action buttons suck.

Action bars!!!! Yes folks i KNOW there are problems. The areas of code i struggle with the most is areas that require secure functions and that are supposed to function in combat. What does this mean? Action buttons and bars are a pain in my arse!!! Im working on it to say the least. If anyone knows much about it you should get a hold of me and maybe we can expedite better action bars with lots of adjustable options. For now until i have time and can figure it out myself we are stuck with what is there. As for what is there.... all I did was reposition all of the blizzard action bars. Not the very next version that Im am going to release tonight or tomorrow but the one right after that will have an option to turn off the GrimUI action bar control so that you can use what ever action bars you want.

I am also aware that if you add the quest objective tracker frame to the GrimUI frame moving system that you will not be able to use the buttons anymore.

Ill also be adding threat to the target window and looking into target cast bar options. Of course lots of fixings being done. The last number of months I have not been able to play for various reasons and there was a lot of small API changes. Worldmap no longer needs to have funny settings to stop taint and loss of the quest tracking highlight blobs due to use in combat. So in other words.... it works like it normally would now and all the code for that nonsense has been removed. Code for boarder coloring on things has been removed. It stopped working and looks kinda like wow did something similar to some degree built in. Not bright enough IMO but itll do until i come up with some new code for that. Also the load on demand behavior for the development tools has been fixed. It will no longer load all the time and will actually be disabled until you go into the GrimUI options and actually click the check box.

Highly motivated by green things. So donations are greatly appreciated... and I see my subscription is going to run out soon and honestly i do not have the money to get another month sooooo yes DONATE!!!

Are you talking the small popup window with buttons in it? If so... unfortunately those are being stored by blizzards end. I think you can copy them out of the bliz saved variables and not out of the addon variables. Eventually one day i might make the buttons handled more on our end but...

i most likely wont play a WHOLE lot until the next xpack, but hey someone donated yesterday out of the blue, after for ever and a day of nothing and so i may go putts around with some new things and fix some bugs.

Donations go a long way

You know folks there has been no donations on this in over 2 years. Everyone wants me to take my time and do things with nothing in return. Try donating and I might be more inclined to fix this more frequently.

In the mean time Merry Christmas you spoiled snots. Version 5.4.2.01 Now available for download. Not much testing done but at least it loads with no errors for me Good luck!

It's funny, I'm a HUGE Mazzle fan. I have been gone about two years, and I went from Mazzle, to ArkiveUI, and neither are around any more. I was just looking for a new UI and ran across this one.

Is is an add-on that does the 3D render of the character (and pet)? That's totally mazzle and I LOVE IT!

Its mostly functional for MOP im busy playing myself.... there is a handful of things being fixed... the taint error with the target window after you have been in a pet battle... the tooltips not showing correct pet battle enabled critters information (example: it should show the pet battle level not that it is a level 1 critter). Fixs for the various class power bars like monks chi and warlocks ember. the Sell Grey button has been moved to where it wont conflict with anything... funky issue with party member frames not updateing when certain party changes happen like you lose a instance member in a xserver instance. i dunno lots of things being fixed itll get done when i get it done and posted it when i post it
