angry LFG

Version: 0.2.1
by: Saithir [More]

What is angry_LFG?

Angry_LFG is a LDB data broker, sort of. It's a simple replacement for Blizzard's minimap Dungeon Finder icon - when you sign up for a dungeon, angry_LFG will show an info bar about what dungeon you're queued to, what roles are taken and what are needed, average wait time for this dungeon and how much time you've spent in the queue.

Be warned that this is an early version of the addon - it does what it says it will, at least on my PC. YMMV.

Feedback and comments are much welcome of course, but please read the whole page and especially the "what it won't ever do" part, so that you don't waste yours and my time asking for things that won't ever happen. :]

So, what does it do?

Basic stuff:

  • Left clicking on the broker toggles the Dungeon Finder window.
  • Left clicking with shift pressed toggles the Battlegrounds browser.
  • Right clicking will show the dropdown menu that's usually associated with the LFD minimap icon - leave queue, teleport in and out of dungeon.
  • When queued to a dungeon, the broker's text will change to reflect that you're queued, and will update the information if needed.

General options:
  • Show angry_LFG minimap Icon - for those that want the icon for some unknown reason.
  • Hide Blizzard's LFD Icon - this should be obvious.
  • Hide Blizzard's PVP Icon - this is obvious and works as well, but there's no battleground queueing functionality yet, so you might not want to tick this for now.

Dungeon Finder options:
  • Show Dungeon Name - toggles display of the dungeon you're queued to.
  • Show Group Icons - toggles display of group (tank, healer, dps) icons.
  • Show Average Time - toggles display of the average time for getting into the dungeon.
  • Show Time in Queue - toggles display of the time you've spent in the dungeon finder queue.

Planned features

These are the features that I'm planning to add in the near future.
  • Battleground queueing, with display similar to what's already working for dungeons.
  • Show info about random dungeon cooldowns and deserter debuff timers.

What it won't ever do

Don't even ask. ;]
  • Showing the icons and other dungeon finder info in a tooltip. This defeats the whole purpose of the addon, which is so I don't have to mouse over the minimap LFD icon to see this information. What's the point in mousing over something else instead?
  • Automatically do stuff while in the random dungeon group (eQueue does this). I don't see any need for that.
  • Show the tank/healer/dps wait times. We all already know that tanks have much shorter queues than dps, why would anyone want to be reminded of that on every dungeon you sign up for? ;]
