TooltipExchange  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1.36597
by: usz [More]

Introduction
Full item info database addon with advanced search capabilities. Main difference from LootLink/ItemSync is that this mod has builtin communication module, that allows searching other people databases. Addon also contains Memo lists, which are user created item lists like: tank wishlist, dps wishlist etc or just boss drops lists. Those Memo lists can be set to either private or public mode. If public mode is chosen, they can be browsed by other mod users remotly. Items which are found on remote clients are transfered over communication channel and their tooltips are reconstructed locally, allowing browsing of never seen before items.

Features
* Ace2 based.
* Searches are performed globally on current communication channel.
* Searching by: item name, rarity, equip location, stat (like crit%, AP, resistance etc).
* Finding items similar to given item.
* Memo lists (user defined custom item lists).
* Remote Memo lists (browsable by other users).
* Detailed database statistics.
* Customizable item rarity filer for storing items.
* Locale item cache mining and database updating options.
* Item scanner module with toggable sources.
* Supports Guild addon communication channel or custom channel.
* Version check for set communication channel.
* Options to disable scanner/communication while in combat.
* Chat box link auto completion on TAB key or specific link on "]"

Notes
* Item database is empty by default. To populate it with items from local item cache use "Database -> Mine Cache" option.
* This addon is not designed for low memory usage. As all searches are sent to every client using it, its main optimizations are for fast searching. Also presisting full item tooltip data requires adequate memory consumption.
* Patterns arent stored in database, yet the ones in local item cache are now fully browsable.
* Item set details arent stored in database, that is items names of set parts and set bonuses.

Any plans to update TooltipExchange?

Currently in order to find healing items I must search for intellect, which isn't very precise, as the "Equip" text for bonus healing now includes multiple numbers. Solving this problem would also enable searches for mana regen. New stats like expertise, armor penetration, haste, and spell haste are also missing.

I'd also like to second the request in the post below mine -- a range search. The best solution I can see to this would be to change the current:

[Selected Stat [^]] [_____]

to:

[Selected Stat [^]] [__] [____]

where the new short field in the middle allows selection between less (<), greater (>), or equals (=).

level requirements

It's nice that TE has the option to give a minimum level requirement, however, TE would be much more useful if I could also enter a maximum level requirement. Example: I would like to be able to search for swords that require at least level 20 and no higher than level 22.

Requests

Requests:
I would like the ability to see the rating buster tooltip modifications from within tooltip exchange's result window.

Also, I'd like the ability for browser results to utilize the filters set.

For example, if you look up all the loot from Kara, but also set the filters to say "Armor -> Leather" it will only show the loot from kara, that has leather.

Bug report:
Search window does not update when filter options are changed, except for when you change level requirements and press enter. Effectively makes level requirement the last thing to type in.

Memo lists working?

Are Memo lists working in the latest version? I make a custom list and added a couple of items to it, but when I "show" the list it's empty.

NVM it's started working *shrug*

On another note though, this mod doesn't work with EquipCompare or the new built-in equivalent?

PeriodicTable 3.0 Embed Not Working

r34059

The embed of PT 3.0 failed. It could not be found, I believe, by UI.lua. Once I installed the whole PeriodicTable-3.0 Ace2 module, this mod worked fine.

I was just coming to post about this same issue. An option to hook tab-completion would be great!

Also, please please please make the GUI a little wider so I can stop having to change the code with every update to see the full text of long item names!

Re: Loses validity on patch days

Ok, made huge update with lots and lots of changes - check changelog for full list.

Great mod, usz - ditched Lootlink as soon as I saw this! My only complaint is that every time there's a patch, TE loses most (all?) of the items in terms of what it considers "valid". Their names are all still there, you just have to mine them again or slowly let them re-validate themselves as you see them in your travels. Is that normal? Is there any way to preserve their validity cross-patch?
Yea this is quite normal as every patch removes all items in your local item cache, this is where TooltipExchange comes in as it saves items in database between patches. In fact this is main reason i made it as I was irritated I was loosing items from cache between patches as wasn't able to see their stats after patch day till item was seen again on server in close proximity to me. Only way you can validate items again is via double clicking them in search results or via mining cache (which in fact will give you quite fast disconnect most of the time). Even double clicking items in results pane to validate them ain't safe as you have no guarantee that they are valid again.

Auto-complete Changes Reply-Receipient

Usz,

I noticed a bug using auto-complete. I will do something like:

/t Foo Hi, what's up?
[Foo] From: Good Good
/r Ahh, good to here.
/t Bar Check out this item [Big Awesome<tab>
.... becomes ....
/t Foo Check out this item [Big Awesome Hammer]

I have not empirically determined if it is response from Foo or the /r that is what is used when auto-completing.

I use one chat mod--Crik's Chatmanager (Updated). I did not test if that was getting in the way.

Thanks!

In fact this functionality is already in there, but cant remember if its hidden by default. To find specific options for advanced search modes go to:
User Interface -> Search Options -> (mark here additional search parameters to be shown)

And how do I get to see green or lesser items?
When I put Item Rarity Level Requirement on Uncommon (green) or lesser I still just see blue and orange items but no green. In fact I dont get to see green or lesser anyhow.

Edit. ah I think I got it ...sry. I forgot to put Item Rarity :P

Then I have a Request:

Can you make selections by material and level please? ie leather, mail, plate ...etc. And ie. 50-up?

Lack of mp5 and hp5 is intended and is related to internal item database structure. Database internally doesn't recognize any particular item statistics, from its point of view its just bunch of lines. While processing lines, lines with single number in them are considered patterns. So "7 mana per 5 seconds" cannot be considered pattern as it contains 2 numbers in it. Same goes with weapon minimal and maximal damage or even weapon speed as those 3 numbers are aligned in same line. Searching for specific values of patterns is initiated by passing full pattern text as argument, so again database doesn't event have to understand what is contained inside.

In short, it is not possible.

Also, thanks for all your hard work on this addon. It's quickly become my favorite item-db addon... much much faster with searches than the others, plus I like having the little icons next to the names in the list.
