• Druid_Feral_T17M.simc, SimulationCraft git commmit r9985e74551e0 (October 29, 2014)
• Guardian profiles are heavily modified local versions based on my research (October 29, 2014)
Versions 6.0.2-9 to 6.0.3-0 are based on patch 6.0:
• Druid_Feral_T17M.simc, SimulationCraft git commmit 9cd4f23aa874 (October 22, 2014)
• Druid_Guardian_T17M.simc, SimulationCraft git commmit 9cd4f23aa874 (October 22, 2014)
Versions 6.0.2-0 to 6.0.2-8 are based on patch 6.0:
• Druid_Feral_T16M.simc, SimulationCraft git commmit e535575f91cd (October 14, 2014)
Versions 5.4.0-1 to 5.4.8-1 are based on patch 5.4:
• Druid_Feral_T16H_Adv_Rotation.simc, SimulationCraft rev. 17897 (October 14, 2013)

Basic Resources has a separate command from Claw, it is /bres - not /claw!
(commands are separate incase people want to lock or scale one but not the other, or want to run just Basic Resources or just Claw)

Claw is an addon for cat and bear druids that simplifies gameplay and maximizes DPS by doing all the decision making for you.
Claw uses an advanced priority list developed by myself and the people over at the SimulationCraft project, improved for ease of use in actual gameplay.
It will calculate which ability would give you the highest DPS (and TPS) during the current combat situation.
The addon is comprised of three icons, left to right they are:

  • The Previously Used Ability icon - Displays the last correct ability you used (to show you that you actually used it before the icon changed, can be disabled)
  • The Best Choice Ability icon - Displays the best ability to use for maximum DPS during the current combat situation
  • The Cooldown Ability icon - Displays when you should use an ability that is off the global cooldown or has a long cooldown (can be disabled)

Other features of Claw includes:
  • Glowing Ability Buttons - Your ability buttons glow when they become the best choice ability
  • Multi-Target Modes - Use keybindings or clicks to switch between single target and 2, 3+ (cat), and 5+ (bear) target modes
  • Know When You Miss - A red border will appear on the previously used icon when your attack misses or gets parried or dodged
  • Moveable, Lockable, and Scalable - Each icon can separately be moved to wherever you like on the screen, then locked or scaled to any size
  • Resource Bars AddOn - No dependencies! Must be enabled within the AddOns menu on the character selection screen

Slash command for Claw user configurable options: /claw

Basic Resources is an included optional addon also for some classes that displays vital information such as your combo points or lacerate stacks, energy or rage, and global cooldown in a simple and elegant fashion. It will also play sounds when you reach a specified amount of combo points (default is 5). The sound files are random quotes from Devil May Cry, half are Dante, half are Vergil. I don't even play that game but my guild leader is obsessed with them and uses my addons so there you have it - her idea. I liked it.

Slash command for Basic Resources user configurable options: /bres and /cres

F.A.Q.
  • Why is it called Claw?
It just seemed cool at the time and wasn't taken by any other addon, it's easy to remember as well. Then again, it's one ability you won't ever see again... R.I.P. Claw ability
  • Where is it? I don't see it!
Both addons hide themselves when you aren't targetting something you're able to attack. Try selecting a training dummy to move it around and such.
Keep in mind that cat priorities will not show up unless you are in feral specialization, and bear priorities will not show up unless you are in guardian specialization.
  • It's showing up in other specs, I don't want it to!
It should be hidden in restoration and balance specialization, if you don't want to see it in your other specs you could use /claw hidespec 1 to hide in primary or /claw hidespec 2 to hide in secondary spec.
  • Is there a way to turn the rotation helper off? I only want the energy/combo point bars.
As stated above, the resource addon is standalone (no dependencies). Just disable Claw on the addons screen and keep Basic Resources on.
  • Why does it take up so much RAM?
Why are you playing WoW on a Commodore 64?! I've never measured it above 120 kB.
  • Can I get this addon for other classes?
Smash is available for warriors. That's all I'm working on at the moment, sorry.

Not so F.A.Q.
  • How can I donate to this amazingly useful addon that completely changed my life?
There's a button above the addon description and a popup when you download, I think. Donations are nice but if you want to just thank me in game that makes me just as happy!

- JUST KIDDING ^

v5.4.2-5
- Fixed some locals that were not so local...still not sure if rake bug is fixed, tested working in LFR though!

- Updated cat priority list to Druid_Feral_T16N_Adv_Rotation.simc, rev 17581 (September 9, 2013)
- Dropped the idea of advanced, basic, and aoe priority lists as they were too much trouble to maintain and would be unlikely to be used

- Translated advanced list from SimulationCraft's Druid_Feral_T15H_Adv_Rotation.simc (rev 17421, August 29, 2013)
- Warning: Basic cat list doesn't exist, AoE is completely untested, bear is also untested
- This is just an in-the-meantime upload for all of those cats desperate to see this addon once again

v4.1.5
- Slight priority list adjustments related to rewriting Rake/Rip, Rake should now be rewritten less and more properly
- Updated spell ID of Thrash for patch 5.1

v4.1.4
- Rather than create some fake multiplier, how about we calculate the average tick damage of Rip/Rake instead!
- Added an energy based use rule to Healing Touch so that it can recommend it earlier if you're waiting on energy
- Modifications to Claw Resources that make no difference because I commented them out (I tried to level a warlock lol)

v4.1.3
- Rather than look for Virmen's Bite before refreshing Rip for higher damage multiplier, incorporate Virmen's Bite as a 15% damage increase instead

v4.1.2
- Added function to determine damage multiplier for better accuracy on refreshing rake or rip

v4.1.1
- Fixed bug where FB was recommended with no combo points

v4.1
- Many many changes to support level 90 at 5.0.5, plus some bug fixes
- Massive rewrite of cat section

v4.0.1
- Manual cooldown management should now be...more manual (oopsies)
- Added front command
- Made it so bossonly works the same as disabling cooldown frame, but only for non-bosses
- Enabled Feral Spirit

v4.0
- Fixed bug where Rip on target was not checked for before Ferocious Bite
- Disabled combo points when not in cat form for Claw Resources
- Fixed GCD bar for druids above level 6 (requirement for Mangle) and above level 3 (rogue) and 24 (paladin)
- Possible other bug fixes

v4.0-alpha2
- Fixed bug where Berserk was not detected in cat form (different spellId from bear)
- Commented out all level 90 related code to improve performance for the meantime
- Slightly adjusted priority list so that 5 cp FB beats Shred during Omen of Clarity
- Removed FB at <1s TTD from top of priority list (it was driving me nuts in 5 man dungeons)

v4.0-alpha1
- TOC updated to 50001
- Rewrote a lot of the code, removed unnecessary variables, synchronized some of the code base with my other class addons
- Priority list for cat has been completely rewritten from scratch using the latest Simulationcraft SVN 13919 profiles
- Priority list for bear has been rewritten as well, however from a theorized single target maximum TPS profile created by myself (hopefully reliable!)
- This is an alpha release (kekeke can that be an oxymoron?) so there is no support for the level 90 talents yet, but others work!
- It should be completely stable, it's not much to worry about :)

v3.0.2
- Added option to turn off Faerie Fire on non-boss mobs
- Added holy power and mana support to Claw Resources (because I started playing a paladin!)

v3.0.1
- Added proper full T13 4pc support which is somewhat different to Mew/Simulationcraft's default way of doing it but I get better DPS out of my way (in Simulationcraft too!)
- This also means I finally managed to get 4 piece to test it, haha! Grats me!

v3.0
- Added bear priorities back in
- Added another icon for off-GCD abilities so that you know to press 2 abilities at once (or close to)
- Claw Resources now supports bear as well!
- Rewrote the glow system to be much less memory intensive and slightly more CPU intensive, and no longer buggy but may not support Bartender fully at the moment...
- Some performance enhancements (both addons together shouldn't pass 80 KB of RAM in combat)

v2.1
- Update TOC for 4.3
- Added command to disable previous ability icon
- Implemented detection for T13 2pc (and hopefully 4pc as well, but I can't test that just yet!)
- Adjusted minor calculations in priority list to slightly improve dps based on deeper SimulationCrafting

v2.0
- Rewrote a ton of code (possible performance enhancements)
- Removed bear priority list
- Added resources side-addon
- Added custom spell frame
- Added previously used ability icon
- Bug fixes

v1.6.1
- Added /tfberserk command which you should enable if you macro Tiger's Fury to Berserk (good idea!)

v1.6a
- Exactly the same as v1.6, just compressed with Deflate instead of PPMd (older archivers dislike)

v1.6
- Added ability:ready(sec) function to make my priority list easier to read and code
- Slightly adjusted rotation for more possible dps (higher dps on SimulationCraft than the BiS .simc profiles!)
- Added a UNIT_FACTION event proc to pop up Claw when the target becomes attackable (useful for Coren Direbrew and some other mobs)
- Removed unneccesarry checks on the frame updates

v1.5
- Added option to disable Berserk on non-boss mobs
- Fixed rotation to not Ferocious Bite like a madman (forgot to check if Berserk was up, lol)
- Might have fixed some other things but don't remember, at least the addon runs right?

v1.4
- Made a lot of Claw local for higher efficiency
- Added a glow option! Enabling it makes the best choice ability glow on your action bars, gasp! (compatible with Blizzard action bars only, even works with macros by detecting the spell icon!)

v1.3.1
- Claw now checks for shred glyph when you change specs or log in
- Added slash command to disable Mark of the Wild (for pvp, but using this addon for pvp is weird)

v1.3
- Fixed a variety of bugs
- Added single target bear priority list! (experimental, I had no official best-threat list to grab from so I made my own assumed best-threat list)
- Added a player reaction time slash command that allows abilities to show up as if the addon were running x seconds into the future
- New slash commands to disable Feral Charge or Demoralizing Roar

v1.2
- Fixed a typo with the time to die function that made it inaccurate
- Added slash command to change the calculation frequency for hardcores who want to run it at 1 ms!
- Added slash command to adjust the scale of the Claw ability icon
- Fixed saving of position when locked

v1.1.1
- Fixed disable for other classes than druid (need to add cat spec check sometime...)
- Added Blessing of Kings check
- Might have changed something else but I don't recall it

v1.1b
- Adjusted calculation frequency to 50 ms (was at 100 ms then 10 ms, target health array length had to be adjusted for frequency)

v1.1
- Added check for glyph of shred as well as recording rip extends left

v1.0b
- Removed print statement that was left during debug, oops

This is a pointless reply as I currently run with a Balance spec (for now) but if its half as good as your Proc And Flash addon it will be good.

I hope it gets some use, Proc And Flash isn't used by very many people, 100 at most. I need to find a better way to disable my addon based on class, as the disableaddon function isn't doing anything at all.
...nevermind it is, lol, forgot to bracket the statement after not to trigger it!

Hello m8!I ll try it for sure :P is there any chance to make one for Bear too?
something like Enrage > Demoralizing Roar > Mangle > Pulverize(3 stack lacerate) > Lacerate (0-2 stack) > Thrash > Faerie Fire > Lacerate (3 stack, but Pulverize on cooldown)

I try to make it with Power Auras but for somehow I cannot make it work

btw I am fan of rotation addons like claw, crc, shock and awe, e.t.c.

Well I am one of the 100 or so that use your Proc and Flash addon and think it's great. Before it I would often miss a proc here and there but not any more, I use it for all my characters.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback! I will indeed add a bear option to my addon when I get the time, possibly by next week.

I currently have to decide how I'm going to take care of that. I will probably have it check your talents for the form recommendation, then toggle between cat and bear mode when you switch forms. Seems like a logical way of doing this.

I hope to be adding an aoe rotation check someday but I really don't want to depend on any libraries, especially checking for crowd control and threat.

Speaking of threat, I may add a slash command to enable a threat check and recommend cower when needed - I'd never use it though, I love cat tanking!

With the new v1.3 out I forgot a little piece of code in the bear priority list, oops!

If you wish to add this (only affects bear form in cat spec) then here you go:

Replace (line 218):
Code:
	elseif clawLacerate:stack() == 3 and (not clawPulverize:up() or (clawPulverize:up() and clawPulverize:remains() <= 2 + Claw.latency)) then
with:
Code:
	elseif clawPulverize:known() and clawLacerate:stack() == 3 and (not clawPulverize:up() or (clawPulverize:up() and clawPulverize:remains() <= 2 + Claw.latency)) then
That'll stop Pulverize from being recommended when you don't even know it.

Getting errors? That's probably due to old saved variables loading over the new ones. Try doing these commands to fix them:

Code:
/claw charge on
/claw roar on
/claw latency a
/claw frequency a
That will re-add the variables with default settings (a is an invalid parameter so it reverts to default value)

I like the size and the simplicity, as it allows for use on its own or next to a cool down setup.

If you've plugged in numbers from SimulationCraft, could you make versions for other classes and specs?

Me? I'd like to see one for hunters - specifically the BM.

There are other addons but, for the reasons above, I'd like to see how this one does.

I've made one for Death Knights though I haven't released it, I plan on making one for every class eventually...might take me a year though, I only work on classes that I actually play. D:

Hi Jpaper. Going to try this out tonight. For the bear rotations, since threat isn't much of an issue now, does the bear recommendations go for TPS or DPS?

tried it and getting this for kitty

Error looks like it's because of another addon removing Blizzard's action bars, you will have to type /claw glow off and disable the button glow if you use something like Bartender or Pitbull.

Bear priority list is currently TPS, however the only known difference between bear TPS and DPS priority lists are that FF is used in place of extra lacerates for TPS?

If you want DPS (almost identical damage to TPS way) then go to line 208 in Claw.lua and delete:
Code:
	elseif FaerieFireFeral:cooldown() <= Claw.latency then
		return FaerieFireFeral
