Afterlife Crowd Control


Whats this addon do?
Afterlife Crowd Control is a World of Warcraft addon designed to monitor your crowd controls in and outside a party, and your party/raid members assigned target crowd controls. This is an invaluable addon for raid leaders and tanks who need to keep track of the many possible crowd control targets in a party or raid, for example, as a tank you can see which target will expire first allowing you to be there ready to pick the target up.


Features

  • List all the controlled targets in your party or raid, including the person who controlled the target.
  • 3D target frame for your own personal crowd control including time remaining.
  • Move/resiz Timer bars showing party/raid controlled targets and their durations.
  • Visual / Audio warnings when your personal crowd controlled target breaks.
  • Batman style popup when your target breaks.
  • Announce to your party or raid when your you apply and renew your crowd controls, and when your target breaks.
  • Announce to your party or raid the last 15 seconds remaining on your controlled target.
  • Announce when you interrupt a cast.
  • Diminish Returns support for PvP and Arena
  • Tank helpers such as automatically removing Salvation - this feature is activated by typing /afterlife tank from the chat window.

Hunters - please note
For hunters, target the mob you intend to trap before placing down/throwing your trap - this will assign your 3D target. If you do not select your target first before using the trap then you will not see the 3D target frame, but the timers will perform normally and any break alerts will work as normal. Instructions
For options, type /afterlife in game

Fixed a bug when a spell misses, the raid target on the mob was not correctly identified.

Note to Hunters


To give you a better understanding on how this works I will explain whats happening; when a mage or other caster starts casting their crowd control spell the addon takes a grab of the targets 3d model, guid, name and other criteria - because the caster has the actual mob selected he/she is guaranteed to be crowd controlling that mob.


However, with hunters this is completely different, the addon assumes that your current target selected (while putting down the trap) is your intended target, but natuarally with big pack pulls its possible another mob can hit the trap.. in that scenerio the 3d model will be wrong since this was taken at the time the trap was put down.


Timers and the name will be correct but the 3D avatar will be wrong if that should happen - I am still working on a better solution for hunter traps using the 3d target frame - it was initially decided to disable the 3d frame on hunter traps but it wouldnt be fair on you hunters if I did

Smile I'm back!

Sorry for my absence, havent played retail for such a long time and only played classic since its release. Due to combat log bugs, mostly the fact that the combat log didnt return spell id's in classic, it was not possible to release a decent fix for that version.


Now that TBC pre-patch is hitting tomorrow and I have been silently rewriting this addon from the ground up on the TBC beta, I can now finally release it.


If you find any issues with this version please report them, or if you prefer, you can come speak to me during one of my streams on twitch.tv - cheap plug, no... never...

Some people I'd guess would prefer to speak to me realtime.. thats my excuse and im sticking with it!

I've added it in the latest 5.2 upload. However, its set at 40 seconds assuming you are in front of the target (worst scenario as far as timing goes) as I need to research if its possible to even check this in game using the addon api (dont think so but I'll check anyway).

Cool Translation Request

I'm looking for translators for the announcements in Afterlife Crowd Control; the announcements are stored in the Local.lua file of the addon but you can post your version here and credit will be given in the addon.

The format looks like this (example is the enUS client version):

The text inside the " " is what needs translating leaving the %s in the same position. text after the -- are comments showing how the formatting is presented in game.

Please state the game version, i.e. frFR, deDE, koKR, zhCN, zhTW, ruRU, esES or esMX.

Cool My Absence

I just want to say thank you to all those who have contributed in the comments to get this addon working during my absence - I'm sure everyone else appreciates your contribution.

Anyway you will all be glad to know I'm now fully back working "finally" on the addon and those features I had planned originally will now be added in the coming days. In the meantime, if you discover anything not working right please let me know either on here or you can email me direct.

Sorry, in my line of work it changes daily and time gets swept under my feet - anyway, I've repaired the addon to work with 4.3. However, please let me know if anyone finds something not working and I'll look to fix it since now I have more time to bring my addons back to life =).

I love this addon and I couldn't be without it. Make these changes and Afterlife CC will work for 4.2.

COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED in 4.1 was changed preventing this addon from parsing CC events (or any combat log event). A simple change will get this addon working again.

line 358 in Afterlife.lua:

should be changed to read (note the addition of an additional return variable in the 3rd spot):

NOTE: COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED is to be changed yet again in 4.2 so be prepared.

I'm having an issue with the all the timers and the 3D model not showing during the CC... It shows when I do a test.

Any Ideas?
Maybe a fix?

Thank you SO MUCH for updating this! This is, hands down, one of my most favorite addons.

Now if only it would differentiate between glyphed/non-glyphed Sap and Trap Mastery/non-talented Freezing Traps, and provide an option to announce to a chosen channel who broke what CC, I dare say it would be absolutely perfect. Please consider looking into these!
