Skill Level  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.01-50400
by: Dridzt [More]

Credits: GearShaft (for original concept)
Version 2.0 is a re-write, delete the previous folder if updating from 1.x; full exit of the game client is also required
Description:
Skill Level adds player level equivalent next to the profession skill.
The change is mostly cosmetic but it has some practical application.

For gathering professions this is the equivalent zone level where the player
is more likely to get useful materials and faster skill-ups.

It will also give a quick overview of how close to your current level
your professions are at a glance.

new feature: SkillLevel will remind you to visit a trainer when you enter a skill range where a new rank is available.

v2.01-50400
- toc update, compatible with WoW 5.4.0 "Siege or Orgrimmar"
v2.01-50300
- Shorten the level prefix.
- Add a missed upvalue.
- Tested on 5.4 PTR.
v2.0-50300
- Re-writen. Delete the previous folder before extracting the new, full exit of the client required.
- several internal changes, getting rid of xml and global variables, getting information from the client so updating is easier for future patches and locale independent.
- new feature: will remind you to visit a trainer if you enter a skill range where training for a higher rank is available.
v1.42-50300
- .toc update, compatible with WoW 5.3.0
v1.42-50200
- .toc update, compatible with WoW 5.2.0
v1.41-50001

Re: NO Reminder to Visit Trainer when Level Up Available

This is the reason I downloaded this addon, as I was looking for something to remind me just when to do exactly that. Unfortunately, I tried it for a while until I was close to a profession tier level-up, but it did not let me know. I didn't see anything in the main professions window to let me know, unless I a missing something. I don't see a screenshot of what that might look like either. I simply found out by visiting a trainer to discover that there was in fact an opportunity for me to level up to the next level in the profession.

I guess this isn't for me, but I can see how others could find knowing the general character guideline level helpful.

>> Just out of curiosity, I would appreciate if anyone knows of something just specifically for what I am using it for; to know when it is time to visit the profession trainer? Thanks
SkillLevel prints a warning to the default chat frame as well sounds a chime.
If you have something that hides or otherwise heavily modifies the chatframe that could explain your issue.
I have tested it with default chatframes as well as ElvUI.

The language of the client you play with would also be helpful (I have made every effort to make the addon language independent but I obviously haven't been able to test every single locale)

Thanks for the report, any specific profession that causes this?
Does it happen on the spellbook only?

I just tested it, I can see no problems.
Are you sure you're not expecting the addon to do something more than what it actually does?

This adds an equivalent player level next to the skill level on the professions spellbook (screenshot shows exactly what).
