Broker RaidSave  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.1.2 Beta
by: Zhinjio, Torhal

Broker RaidSave is an Ace3/LDB plugin that allows tracking of raid IDs across characters. It started out as a "port" based on FuBar_RaidSaveFu, with permission from jokeyrhyme, the author of the original, but eventually followed a different path.

The plugin will display the number of active (and optionally expired) saved instances for the current character on the button/block, separated into a [Group]:[Raid]:[Expired] format and will also display a list of alt characters, along with their saved instance ID's and expiration times, on the tooltip. The tooltip provides clickable functionality, allowing the player to paste instance information in an open chat box, or toggle extension of active (or even expired) instance IDs. Right-clicking the plugin, will toggle display of Blizzard's Raid Information frame.

The addon obviously has to have been used on a character before any of their information will be available.

You may configure the information shown on the button/tooltip by right clicking on the plugin and setting the appropriate options to your liking, on the addon configuration panel.

The addon should be considered beta quality, yet stable enough to warrant a release. Please report any issues you encounter, especially when it comes to proper detection of saved instances.

Bear in mind that Broker RaidSave, as all DataBroker plugins does not provide it's own display, you will need a LDB-based display addon, such as Fortress, Carousel, StatBlockCore, Titan Panel etc.

2.1.2 Beta:
- ToC version update for WoW 4.2
2.1.1 Beta :
- Tried to repackage with as little change to code as I could. Unfortunately, much of it was outdated and required some rewrite just to get it working again.
- This was mainly just repacking to get fresh libs into the package (the old libs were causing errors, no surprise).
- MUCH more rewriting will be necessary, but for not, it is functional
2.0 [2009.08.23]
- Major update.
- Modified plugin text. Display for number of active instances has been scrapped in favor of a [Group]:[Raid]:[Expired] format, which will now apply to both normal and "short" text. Expired instances can still be optionally hidden from the text display.
- Added an option to hide the hint text from the tooltip.
- Fixed a bug, where the tooltip would not be shown and the plugin would error, when hiding the instance difficulty column, while still attempting to sort saved instances by difficulty. In such a case, the plugin will now revert to instance name sorting. The difficulty sorting option now requires difficulty shown, to be enabled, until a better solution can be implemented.
- Added clickable functionality to the tooltip. You are now able to paste saved instance information, to an open chat box, by Shift-Clicking the appropriate instance name. In addition, you may toggle extension of the instance ID expiration period by simply Right-Clicking on its name. Blue colored instance names, indicate instances with "extended IDs".
- Added an option to enable scrolling for the tooltip, with a selectable tooltip maximum height for the scrollbar to be enabled.
- Various minor, "under the hood" corrections and improvements.
- Updated libraries and localization (work in progress).
-------------------------------
1.8 [2009.08.07]
- Updated libraries and localization (work in progress).
- Modified the wording on a few option buttons and descriptions, to clarify their functionality.
- Modified the plugin text to properly report and differentiate between active and expired saved instances. Modified the short text option in accordance with this change.
- Replaced the "Hide expired instances" option button with 2 separate options, allowing a player to hide expire instances from either the tooltip, the button/block or both.
-------------------------------
1.7 [2009.08.04]
- Updated .toc, libraries and existing localization.
- Added German (deDE) localization.
- Committed necessary changes to support the new API, regarding dungeon types and dungeon difficulty.
- Set the BackdropBorderColor to properly reflect the original values of the GameTooltip for consistency.
- Expired instances will now be shown by default on the tooltip, in accordance with the new dungeon and API changes, allowing an instance ID to be extended beyond its normal duration.
- Added a new option in the configuration menu, under the "Instance Expiration" category, to hide expired instances from the tooltip summary.
- Implemented left click handling, in order to display the revamped Raid Information frame.
- Cleaned up and simplified the tooltip code.
- Fixed sorting by instance difficulty.
- Corrected the "Show instance difficulty mode" tooltip description, in the plugin's configuration menu.
- Properly localized the label and tooltip description for the "Hide expired instances" option.
- Properly "desaturated" the instance ID and difficulty labels for expired instances.
- Added tooltip hint (localization needed - work in progress).
-------------------------------
1.6 [2009.06.05]
- Updated to the latest revision of LibQTip-1.0 that deals with the clipping issue once and for all.
- Updated .toc with proper tags for Minion support.
-------------------------------
1.5d [2009.05.26]
- Updated to r92 of LibQTip.
-------------------------------
1.5c [2009.05.24]
- Updated to r87 of LibQTip-1.0 in order to resolve the issue with the problematic upgrade code.
-------------------------------
1.5b [2009.05.24]
- Library update.
- Now properly releasing the tooltip, when clicking on the plugin.
-------------------------------
1.5 [2009.05.09]
- Added support for CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS.
- Library update.
-------------------------------
1.4b [2009.04.13]
- Updated .toc to 30100.
- Ace3 Update.
-------------------------------
1.4 [2009.03.09]
- LibQTip-1.0 update.
- Fixed a few global references for the sake of code brevity.
- Added two new options in the configuration menu, that allow sorting of the instance list, on the tooltip, either by instance name or instance difficulty (only one of the 2 options may be selected at a time and instance difficulty needs to be 'shown' for difficulty sorting to have any effect).
- Updated localization to accommodate the recent changes.
-------------------------------
1.3b [2009.02.03]
- Moved saved variables initialization from VARIABLES_LOADED to ADDON_LOADED event for reliability and performance purposes.
-------------------------------
1.3 [2009.01.18]
- Fixed a bug that would prevent proper saving of the instance difficulty option, between sessions.
-------------------------------
1.2b [2009.01.18]
- Added zhTW localization.
- Libraries update.
- Stretched columns to the right a bit, to be more readable.
-------------------------------
1.2 [2009.01.02]
- LibQTip-1.0 Update.
- Added a new option to show/hide instance difficulty mode (Heroic/Normal), in a new row. Defaults to ON.
-------------------------------
1.1b [2008.11.09]
- LibTooltip-1.0 renamed to LibQTip-1.0. Implemented necessary changes.
-------------------------------
1.1 [2008.10.28]
- Ace3 Update.
- Fixed a bug with character class coloring for non-English locales.
- Revamped tooltip handling, LibTooltip-1.0 is now used, instance data should appear properly justified in columns.
-------------------------------
1.0 [2008.10.18]
- Initial release.

Some Suggestions

I really love your LDB and I'm using it since long time now.

Do you think it's possible to let us know how many bosses we killed in a save and to let new looking for raid Dragon Soul details to be visible?

I mean :

Dk

Dragon Soul 10men - istance id - 3 bosses down
Dragon Soul LFR - no istance id - 8 bosses looted

It would be really nice...
Ty again

But its inability to show which raid boss you are saved to in a raid (new in Cataclysm) was becoming more and more of an issue, so moved to something more modern a couple weeks ago (the SavedInstances mod).

So nice to see you taking this over, Zhinjio. Hope the ability to see a saved-boss list for a particular raid via a secondary tooltip (as the above mod does via LibQTip) or similar can be added.
News to me. I honestly didn't go through the full history of back logged comments when I took it over. This seems like a reasonable addition though, and I'll see what I can do about adding it in the next release.

A couple of issues seen with the new 2.1.1 Beta/r8, though. Both the "Left Click on instance name to toggle ID extension" and "Shift+Left Click to paste instance info into chat" tootip options fail to function at all. Do those clicks on the tooltip and nothing happens, including the second one when the chat frame is open. The two "...click on plugin..." options work fine, however.
I'm aware of both of these. I honestly didn't do any "fixes" yet. This first release was simply a repackage with as little rewriting as possible, just to resolve some of the major issues (squinched up tooltip, most notably). These will be addressed in the first "real" release.

I've added tickets on wowace for all three of these issues

I know you said you got a lot of rewriting to do, but down the road think you could add TipTac support where we can change the border of the tooltip that pops up.

Thanks again!!
The tooltip is completely controlled by LibQTip. Any "features" of that tip are a function of what functionality is built in to that library. In order for them to be "tiptac" aware, the library itself would have to support that. I'll mention it to Torhal, but its really up to him.

I will be updating all my addons with (at minimum) TOC bumps by end of this coming weekend. My time is limited, but I'm slotting time each evening for this work.

Continued support

G'day.

My name is Zhinjio, and I've offered to take over the maintenance on this addon. I will be taking a look at all outstanding bugs and requests over the coming weeks, and hopefully releasing at least a maintenance release here shortly.

I hope to continue right where Tristanian left off and provide you the high quality you're used to. Please don't hesitate to leave additional comments here with any additional requests you may have.

Peace,
- ZJ

still works with 4.0.1 live.

just a little bug: the frame opened on-click (normally the original raid ID frame) is empty

edit : here is a fix :

near line 666 (in Broker_RaidSave.lua)
Code:
        if RaidInfoFrame:IsVisible() then
            if FriendsFrame:IsVisible() then ToggleFriendsFrame(5) end
RaidInfoFrame:Hide() -- this is really only needed if some addon has modified the Parent of RaidInfoFrame
        else
            if not FriendsFrame:IsVisible() or FriendsFrame.selectedTab ~= 5 then ToggleFriendsFrame(5) end
            RaidInfoFrame:Show()
        end
replace number 5 by number 4.
(Blizzard removes guild frame from this frame group, so there is one index missing)
