IgnoreMore  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1.1-40300
by: mikk [More]

IgnoreMore will:

  • Let you ignore more than 49 players
  • Share the same ignore list between all players on the same realm (and faction).
  • See when someone was ignored
  • Give a reason for why the person is ignored
  • NOT respond with "X is ignoring you" (unless the person was initially added to the system Ignore list before IgnoreMore was installed)

The "/ignore" command is also extended with a second parameter giving a reason directly, e.g. "/ignore Mikk : loudmouthed guy". You can also double-click lines in your ignore list to edit these comments.

Finally something to save my sanity from ExtendedIgnore, going through a big list with only slash commands was hell.

This mod is great!

Could you please implement the Option to set a custom message to be send to the ignored people who send something to you?

At least they should know that their messages are not being listened to.

Something I'd really like to see would be an "expiration date" feature that could, for example, automatically remove people from my ignore list after, say, 10 days if no reason was given for ignoring them. I frequently /ignore people who incessantly spam guild recruitment or enchanting ads, or people who are just being idiots in some channel, just to shut them up at the moment, although I may not want to permanently ignore them.

I want that also, the easiest way should be to send the the reason to the "ignored one".
line:
stupidplayer ... "this is a stupid player, i don't like him"
(automatic) /w "You are ignored, reason: "this is a stupid player, i don't like him""

not the best way, but i think, it is one of the easiest, without needing another data-entry for each entry on the ignore-list.

(ps: excuse my bad english, it is one of my worst school-lessions)

Would it be possible for this mod to be extended to also auto-sync my friends lists?
Allowing reasons would be an added bonus.

Not strictly what this mod is about I know, but seems soooo similar it should be dead simple to add

Appears to break priest Mind Control

Using IgnoreMore 1.02 with WoW patch 2.03, this addon appears to cause a major problem for priests using Mind Control. With the addon installed, the Blizzard action bar for controlling the controlled mob is not there.

Not sure how an 'ignore' mod would affect a Blizzard action bar, but it appears to.

Couple things, help!

Thanks Hawksy, was wondering which mod I had that was interfering with my Mind Control on my priest....I just won't MC anything until this is fixed!

Also, need to look into adding a color code for the AH for ignored people. Infinite Ignore put peoples' names in RED on the AH as a reminder to not buy from them. Since Infinite Ignore is no longer being updated, could we get that here on this mod please?

For what it's worth, Blizzard's UI had lots of problems getting pet bars to show around this time. Mods or no mods. It was subsequently fixed, and had nothing to do with IgnoreMore.

Actually, no, it's not that easy. See, serverside, WoW only allows 49 entries in the friends/ignore lists. This is why with IgnoreMore, you e.g. see in-game chat bubbles from people that you have ignored even though you don't see it in the chat windows; it simply tries it best to filter out things from ignored players without involvement from the server.

Now, doing the same to the friend list is far from trivial. Yes, I could trivially add an artifical friend list with reasons and things, but showing who's actually online and where they are, etc? Not so trivial. Not impossible with lots of clever cycling and polling, but more than I want to be bothered with in this addon. At least now.

On a sidenote: IgnoreMore is released into the public domain. If someone else wants to pick up the code and extend to something bigger, they're certainly welcome to do so.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but i am.

I select a player by clicking them, then press ignore and it came up first as 'Target is being ignored' instead of adding the players name, it added 'Target' to the ignore list.

Then i could delete 'Target'

Did this mean that they are getting ignored or someone called 'Target' ?

But then I began getting upon loading in:

Player Not Found
Player Not Found
Player Not Found

and was pulling my hair out.

I disabled the addon then checked the ignore list, and i had the same amount of players listed, but not the ones i selected.

Anyhoo, i removed those players from that list and then restarted and that fixed the 'Player Not Found' problem i was having.

So i decided to re-test the selecting a player and typing /ignore

Now it adds nothing...

and when i select them again and type /ignore

it says:

' is no longer being ignored'

blank...

What the...?

We really need to be able to select players and ignore them as a lot of people use crazy symbols for their names and we cannot quickly duplicated them on the keyboard here.
