Re: Emotes

I have tried keeping emotes on alert 1 with the others, and on alert 3 by itself... So far no luck... I haven't seen even one emote, but if it's only for mobs, then Onyxia has been the only real test...

I wonder if my chat setup might be an issue? I have 3 seperate chat windows, but I would think that wouldn't matter...

Any ideas?
Only mobs emote are monitored.
No idea, works fine for me with various combinations of options.

At a fist look:
There's no file named SpellAlert.lua in this addon.
There's no line containing 'TargetByName' in this addon (including SAOptions).

Are you using this addon?
Are you using the latest version?
May it be an incompatibility between addons (including this)?

I'm getting the error:

Interface\AddOns\SpellAlert\SpelAalert.lua:543: attempt to call global 'TargetByName' (a nil value)

Any idea? It seems to be pretty random. I can click "okay" a thousand times and it doesn't fix, but if I select another player (friendly or non) and click okay it goes away.

Requests

Looking good so far, the most rebost SA outthere atm. But it does need a few improvements.

1. The "Target Only Option" needs to be frame independant. That way a user could make 1 frame for putting ONLY their target and all of what hes casting. And set up a second frame that allows other nearby players.

To expand on this, to prevent redundant spam the current target should only appear in the "target only" set up frame, and should not appear in the frame that catchs others.

Lastly, an option should be made to set messages on a faction basis. Buff fades, gains, debuffs on allied players, and buff fades, gains, debuffs, etc on any enemy player or npc.

These options would allow a player to sort information much more effectively and use the multiple frames to their max potential.

2. This HAS to work on enemy flagged allies. I could not for the life of me get it to work in a duel. The only message I was getting was buff fade messages from friendly players, I couldnt get the person I was dueling and get ANY of their casts, or even their buff fade messages. I dont know what that was but please check into it. If SAmodifiedagain has a problem with displaying spellcasts of allies that are in a duel situation, I am curious as if it has problems fighting your own faction in the arena.

3. One final request would be the ability to color code the name of the caster based on class. So you would see "WhiteNamedPriest begins to cast Greater Heal." or whatever. I think that would really be sweet.

Awesome work so far though, I love the level of customization so far. Has the potential to be the best SA mod yet produced.
