LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

I finished the quest before I came back to the web site and saw what you said to do.
The other one I dropped to clear up the log.
I use Quest Guru, TomTom, Cartographer (core), MobMap, & Lightheaded. This is my Core UI "Cant live without". The rest are not quest related.

It was just weird how the log was there for the whole chain, but not the last one.

I appreciate you taking the time to look into it. Thankyou

Looking into it, I've found a number of quests that dont' have levels listed on wowhead. each of these will cause an issue, and I'm not sure how to resolve it.

Maybe create a temporary default description that says something along the lines of "There is no further quest information at this time."

Question DBLWIDE Dependency?

Is this dependent on http://www.wowinterface.com/download...oubleWide.html ? Or did I just download that one for nothing (found it proir to finding this one) ?

Well, its not dependent on it.. but I wouldn't saying downloading it is "For nothing". It provides you with a larger quest log that's a bit easier to navigate.

Right, I understand that, but by the pics you have provided, it (Doublewide) looks identical (as far as the size of your quest log pane) to yours. Just curious if the two were linked, or if it would be a conflict/waste of memory to have both addons running at the same time.

thx

Because I can't imagine running my interface without DoubleWide.

Hehe, I think we got our communications crossed here somewhere, or perhaps I did not phrase my original post properly.

Rephrase:

Hi Cladhaire! Hey I really think that your mod is exactly what I am looking for! The thing is though is that I just now downloaded another mod called "Doublewide". It too expands the quest log pane (which is suhweeet!).

My question is this: Does your mod incorperate the same frame design (sorry I'm no mod dev) ? Or, do you simply have Doublewide running in your game interface also? Where I really like the layout and purposes of Doublewide, I think it would be non-beneficial to my interface memery to be running duplicate mods, or portions thereof.

Do I need to keep running Doublewide in order to gain the full benefit of Lightheaded? I assume by your previous comment that you have it downloaded also, but like I said, I'm just a player that likes add-ons.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter,

Respectfully,

spr808

Unhappy Assault on Fenris Isle

Assault on Fenris Isle has no data. I click on the quest and LightHeaded shows a blank page. Oddly enough I swear it showed information for this quest before...

LightHeaded does not expand the quest log, so you're fine.

I run Doublewide

DoubleWide is merely another addon that extends your quest log, and you're welcome to use or not use it as you wish. I find it much easier to have the extended quest log, however.

What is caobot? I really have no idea what you're talking about.

Are you sure you unpacked LightHeaded correctly? There should be 11 (or 12) directories in your addons folder, if you've done it correctly.

two questions:
1-how do you re-open the quest tracker after closing it?
2-is it possible to not have group member's quests scroll on my screen?

i closed the tracker during a raid last night and i can't figure out how to use your tracker again instead of the WoW quest tracker

i saw your quote, "The UI can be hidden when you're not using it, it collapses down to a simple nub on your combat log," but i don't see anything on my combat log that might be what i'm looking for

i'm sure it's something as plain as the nose on my face, but i'm just missing it atm

enjoy the addon...thanks for taking the time to make it

LightHeaded isn't a quest tracker. Its a frame that attaches itself to the default quest log and provides comments and quest information from wowhead.com. The "nub" that is referred to can plainly be seen on the right-hand side of the LightHeaded frame in the screenshots above.

2-is it possible to not have group member's quests scroll on my screen?
You're going to have to be more specific, I have no idea what you mean. All LightHeaded does is provide comments based on your quest log.
