Smart Rocks

Version: 1.1
by: Recompense [More]

A very simple mod that lets you easily access whatever healthstone you have in your bags. Perfect for leveling warlocks or raiders who don't know if they're getting a rank 0, 1, or 2 healthstone. The addon comes with an on-screen button to click, but you can use a macro instead if you don't want a floating healthstone button.

Instructions:

After the addon is installed, you will see the Smart Rocks button in the center of your screen. To move it, hold down a modifier key (Alt, Ctrl, or Shift) and drag it to where you want it to go. The button will light up when you have a healthstone and will gray out if you don't.

If you prefer to hide the button and use a macro instead, hold down a modifier key and double-click the button. Make a macro in your general macros called "SmartRock" and leave it blank. Select the ? icon and drag it to your bars. Whenever you receive a healthstone, the macro will change to use whatever healthstone you have picked up.

Note: This addon will not configure itself to match a healthstone if you pick one up in combat. The chances of picking up a healthstone are pretty slim in combat, but the few times it does happen, it's probably grabbing a stone from a Soul Well. In that case, if the Soul Well was the same one you grabbed your previous stone from, the addon should continue to work.

v1.1:

- Fixed a bug that would prevent the mod from correctly detecting your acquired healthstone if your connection was too good. Thanks Zidomo for the heads up!

Healthstones created by a Warlock who has either one point or two points in Improved Healthstone do not show up in the Smart Rocks frame. It remains greyed out. Only the 4280 health one shows up in the frame.

And yes, this is when picking up healthstones out of combat. It consistently fails to reconfigure itself for the higher ones.
I'll look into this. I actually have a warlock now, so I can play with this a little bit more effectively!

Terrific idea. There used to be a bit more complex mod somewhat like this called HS Warning, but it died as of WoW 3.x. The separate frame of Smart Rocks, being able to see that you have picked up a healthstone and being able to see the proper tootip for one is great. A big improvement on relying on a macro alone.

A major problem, though. On the second raid I tried this on, it bugged out and became unusable.

Smart Rocks v1.0, USEnglish client/server, 3.2.2.10505 live. 25-man raid. Warlock puts down a Soul Well. I (not a warlock) get a healthstone from it.
The Smart Rocks icon does not light up.

I then go in my bag and verify that a healthstone was picked up; yes it was. I click the icon, an error is thrown up (recorded with BugSack/!BugGrabber) and the healthstone is not used:

["message"] = "SmartRocks-1.0\\SmartRocks.lua:43: attempt to concatenate local 'itemID' (a nil value)\n\nLocals:|r\n\n ---",
["type"] = "error",
["session"] = 2254,
["counter"] = 1,
}, -- [983]

Again, great idea. Look forward to it being fixed.

Actually, I like this for the additional frame. Making macros is all well and good, but there are only so many places to put things.

True, but I made it for a guildmate who suggested I post it on here. I was surprised anyone else actually downloaded it.

Of course there are other ways of accessing whatever healthstone you have available.
