Arena Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.06
by: Torrid01 [More]

Unit frames for your arena opponents, plus more.

Frames can display the following, each of which can be toggled on or off:

* Debuffs and buffs
* Unit target
* Party target indicators
* Cast bars
* Target distance indicator
* Trinket cooldown status indicator
* Diminishing returns indicator

Additional functionality include an elaborate alert system, completely customizable button click functionality, and buff/debuff filters.

Alerts can display a message on screen in large letters and/or play a sound when specific events occur. Custom sound files can be placed in the addon's Custom folder to play any sound of your choosing. Some alerts have a speech option which will play pre-recorded voices instead of a sound effect, which will state the unit class and CC spell cast rather than a blanket sound effect for every class/spell. Alerts can also be configured to ignore specified classes/spells so they trigger only when you wish them to.

Version 3.06:

* 4.2 compatibility

Version 3.05:

* 4.1 compatibility

Version 3.04:

* Cataclysm compatibility

Version 3.03:

* The trinket cooldown indicator and alerts will now trigger when the human racial Every Man for Himself is used (sorry I missed that)
* The background color can now be changed and the opacity for colors can now be set
* New option: "Always Display Bar Text"
* The Defaults button on the configuration panel will now reset options to their defaults (this will not reset Alert, Button, or Buff/Debuff filter options)
* Bar graphic changed to default minimalist due to a bug in the client not resizing images to fit status bars

Version 3.02:

* Trinket status indicator and alerts now factor in Will of the Forsaken use
* New alerts: Will of the Forsaken Used, Will of the Forsaken Available

Version 3.01:

* New options: Precise countdown
* Pet frames should be less buggy. Invis pets will still show as dead, however

Don't mean to be a troll or something, but why would you use this over Gladius?

1) type /auf
2) No. Blizzard broke something in the API that makes it difficult to determine the size of your team. When Blizzard decides to fix their API, the unused frames will go away again.
3) Not sure what you mean

I am trying to set up the ArenaUnit Frames but I can not seam to find a way to have a "demo" version of the frames live... they only pop up when I am in an arena and then there is to much happening to position it and make sure all the things I want working are working...

The problem is not many specs can be determined from buffs alone. A lot more specs can be determined once battle begins but by then you'll pretty much know their spec anyway.

Then there is the problem of not having much room. The frames don't exactly look all that great right now -- mostly due to needing to cram all that crap into a small area. Not sure where I'd even put it.

If a spec can be determined by buffs, it'll flash it in the same frame that alarm text shows up. Check for it after the gates open. It's not very useful though, really. Saves you the trouble of checking a paladin's mana or if the team's stealther is a druid or rogue is about all. It won't check spells cast by opponents so it won't tell you after combat begins who is what.

That was the problem. Now how can I force this to be customizable via in-game ui?

If you've never moved the window, it might not be there, but you should see something like this in the layout-local.txt file:

Code:
Frame: ArenaUnitMasterFrame
FrameLevel: 1
Anchor: RIGHT
X: -104
Y: 276
W: 320
H: 24
If there is no ArenaUnitMasterFrame entry, just paste this at the end of the file and change the X or Y values to where you want the window.

This should not be necessary though. Maybe you have another addon with a transparent frame blocking the Arena Unit Frame title area or something.

P.S. and still - if i cant move it this addon is better then gladius and so on :P
Hmm. Well I assume you tried clicking the "lock window" option on and off too. Dunno what to tell you. You could edit your layout-local.txt file in your WTF/Account/<account name>/<server name>/<character name> folder and do it the hard way. That is where the client saves window positions.
