Hey! Great addon!

Just wanted to know though. Is there a way to remove the minimap button?

Thanks

Re: Re: Ingame error

A weird error indeed. I received the same error yesterday after talking to Calandrath <Innkeeper> in Cenarion Hold (Silithus):

Date: 2011-06-12 18:08:16
ID: -1
Error occured in: Global
Count: 1
Message: ...e\AddOns\LootCount_DropCount\LootCount_DropCount.lua line 1809:
attempt to index field 'Items' (a nil value)
Debug:
[C]: ?
...e\AddOns\LootCount_DropCount\LootCount_DropCount.lua:1809: ReadMerchant()
...e\AddOns\LootCount_DropCount\LootCount_DropCount.lua:3374: PollVendor()
...e\AddOns\LootCount_DropCount\LootCount_DropCount.lua:3245: OnUpdate()
[string "*:OnUpdate"]:1:
[string "*:OnUpdate"]:1

The error doesn't seem to be consistent. I revisited Strumner Flintheel today, and all was fine. No new error message. I don't know what Strumner and Calandrath have in common that could trigger the error. Up until now I only received the error after looking at the wares of these 2 vendors. Do you suspect interferance from another addon?

Now that is a weird one... Especially since there is a check for that specific incident. I will have to ask for that to be verified by someone else or by yourself once more.
To make it a bit un-tech, it's basically like this:
- If the number exists, then check the number.
- (here we check the number)
- If the number does not exsist, we continue here.

Your crash was at line 2.
Which is a bit weird...

Hard to say. Could you provide the error output? I have not heard of that kind of problems yet.

Re: Data Merge...

Not to keep bothering you on the data merge, but I did have a question. Is it possible to stop the data merge someway in the current version? (i.e. delete some file) I am looking to start over on a new server, so I will be wiping out all my saved variable files. I am looking for a way to start clean; is this possible, or do I need to wait for the new version?

Thanks again for your help and all your hard work,

No problem. I answer whenever I am here.
What you should try first is to open the "localization.en.lua" file in the addon directory "LootCount_DropCount". At the very top of this file, you will find a line saying something like "local ThisVersion=4.602;"
Change this to "local ThisVersion=0;" before you log in to a character.
I have not tested this, but the database version should be reset to zero if it is missing (which it will when you wipe it), so the merge-code should not attempt a merge since the versions are equal.

Important: Only do this if you wipe your SavedVariable files, or it will actually trigger a new merge in stead of stopping the first one.

So:
1. Wipe SaveVariable files
2. Edit addon-file and save it
3. Log in to a character

That should do it.
Any problems, let me know.

Good point. When Cataclysm comes out, I can put the merge as an option.
But when it has been merged, it is basically impossible to split again. This is because there are several cross-references that are recalculated when merging. These can not be split again.

But Cataclysm is a fresh start. Hold on until then.

Yea, I should probably do that. I got it working, but absolutely everything will change in a short month with Cataclysm coming. Maybe I'll post an intermediate version just so people have something to use while we wait.

I'm currently working on the Cataclysm version on the beta-server, btw.
