Hi, my name is Thaoky, and I'm an Altoholic

Altoholic is an Ace 3 add-on written for people who dedicate most of their time to leveling alts, and who want to have as much information as possible in one place.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I am back in the game since 28/12/2020.

If you are upgrading from a version below 9.0.003, YOU MUST CLEAR YOUR SAVED VARIABLES !!

This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

About the add-on:

The add-on has been in development since December 2007 and was officially released in late March 2008. It provides you information about your alts (bags, mails, AH, etc...) without having to reconnect them all the time.

About the author:

I was born in '76 (you do the math) and I work as a Project Manager + Software Architect + Full Stack Web Dev (yup, multiple hats) in a large multinational, so my coding time is limited, and Work > Gaming.

I live in Belgium, and obviously play on EU only.

Assistance will be provided on a best effort basis, but in any case always be polite and respectful when asking for help, I am neither a teenager, nor a punching ball. I am a cool guy with people who are cool with me. Respect that rule and we'll be fine.

2020/12/28: Due to Teelo's actions, I have reverted his changes and resumed development based on my latest version of the code. Some of his new features are temporarily not available anymore, some are gone forever. The main Shadowlands features will be back though, just be patient.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 8.0 : As with every new expansion, many things have changed in the API, and it is REQUIRED to clear your Saved Variables for the addon.
This means cleaning the following files in \WTF\Account\<your_account>\SavedVariables : Altoholic.lua & All DataStore*.lua

There WILL be bugs if you use your old files without cleaning them first.
Some fixes to work around API changes are too time consuming, so cleaning is required. A meagre price to pay once per expansion.

- This concludes the conversion of all DataStore modules to make them compatible with all versions.

- DataStore_Containers: Fixed COMMON_NUM_BAG_SLOTS to be NUM_BAG_SLOTS + 1 for retail, and NUM_BAG_SLOTS for non-retail, instead of the opposite.

- Fixed an issue where sorting the bags while the merchant frame is opened would trigger a slow down (Thanks Belazor !)

Mindleglalaxy A Murloc Raider Forum posts: 8 File comments: 59 Uploads: 0	Help with some problems! Hi, I love your add on but have 2 problems one not a big problem but the other one to me is. Prob 1: I cannot get Altoholic to work on Fubar it only works on the minimap which isn't a bit deal but would prefer it on Fubar. And yes have deleted all saved var etc including fresh install of WOW for other reasons as well so I know its not me. This is the not so big issue. Prob 2: This ad don prevents Bean Counter (Part of Auctioneer Package)or AuctionStats from working(basically any add on that records AH history is affected from what I can work out). Basically Bean Counter records everything that happens sale, outbid, etc (history of AH) of AH and with this installed it doesn't record the information at all. As soon as I disable Altoholic the problem goes away and Bean Counter works perfect. I have disabled all ad dons as well to make sure of no conflicts etc. I would dearly love to use this add on but as I depend on Bean Counter so much so I don't need to write everything down I do need it more sorry. I hope you can help or give me a suggestion and if this has already been discussed I apologize in advance. Looking forward to hopefully someone helping me please! Thanks PS: Sorry I know I have posted twice just not sure which site you prefer or look at more than the other and would realy like to be able to use this addon

Did you try to disable them to see if altoholic alone also causes the problem. - This problem, when it happens, should not happen with all items, were you able to identify if this occured with all types of items, or only with specific recipes for instance ? Just let me know, and I'll be able to help.

Thaoky An Aku'mai Servant Forum posts: 30 File comments: 19 Uploads: 1	Re: Errors on loggin The latest version on SVN is the same as the one available here and on curse (.014), the only difference is that libraries are packaged on the fly whenever someone updates a library, so I suggest that you download it again from here, and maybe clear your altoholic.lua as well. I will update svn either tonight or tomorrow anyway, as the new find upgrade feature is reaching completion. edit: I just checked wowace's forum, someone updated the addon and left an error in it, so rollback to .014 is indeed required. The only thing I can think of that I've done that might have affected Altoholic is that I deleted an alt and then deleted it in Altoholic as well. At least it seems like that's when the error started occuring.

The best quick fix is to delete your altoholic.lua in savedvariables. I'll do the necessary changes to avoid this.

I did try removing my savedvariables but that didn't work.

The second error is not related to altoholic, that's for sure.

The first should not happen in correctly localized versions. Would you by any chance be playing on deDE ?

It seems related with professions, did you abandon a profession on one of your alts maybe ? I will work on avoiding this issue and will provide a fix in a future release, but in the meantime, I suggest you clean your altoholic.lua in savedvariables and retry.

It may also be related to a localization issue, but that is only if you don't play in enUS.
