Mapster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.11.0
by: Nevcairiel [More]

Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

Features

  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot.
All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

If you're looking for a replacement to Cartographer, i also recommend the following addons:

Mapster
1.11.0 (2023-11-28)
Full Changelog Previous Releases
  • Add 10.2 FogClear data
  • Disable multi-version packages
  • Remove Classic support
Maintaining Classic support has become a huge burden for this mod, since
it is designed to modify the Blizzard UI, and the UI diverges even
further between Retail and the different Classic variants with every
    update.
Hence, I rather focus my efforts on Retail, and other mods.

Player arrow has disappeared

Several features are not working properly as of 12/23, most recent build. Most notably, the player arrow has disappeared.

Is mapster having trouble with quest helper these days?
or QH2?

The archaeology zones are not aligned properly with mapster, they're often not even on a land mass, see screenshot:

Mousewheel scrolling to zoom in/out in World Map...

Ever since WoW patch 4.01, I haven't been able to zoom in and out of the World Map using the mouse scrollwheel, as was previously available. I've tried using several different character profiles and other methods to see if this was a compatibility problem, but the issue persists.

Is this a new limitation due to Blizzard's API? I'm not receiving any error messages when opening Mapster or trying to use the scrollwheel in the World Map view...

Never noticed that. Works perfectly. Thanks!

I love this addon, thanks a lot for making it!

Would it be possible to add slash commands to toggle between the minimized map and regular map? The button to switch between them is very small and difficult to click on when it's minimized. I'd like to be able to put it in a macro or otherwise make it easier to switch back and forth.

It's very possible, don't recall, though
Haven't been getting the error for a while now, not even in Northern Barrens - perhaps it was caused by another addons?...

The Mosshide Fen digsite in Wetlands is doing this for me as well.

any chance you can make the minimized map ignore all the random buttons other addons put in, they tend to bug out or appear in odd places. thanks.

How do I:

1. make POIs show and scale on the maximised map (blobs and quest panel showing)? The POIs show only on the minimized map (blobs showing but no quest panel) but do not scale.

2. prevent the minimized map from closing? Currently if I hit escape to, for example, open the menu, cancel casting, close other windows or similar, the map closes. Ideally, the minimized map should never close and pressing the map keybinding should toggle between maximized and minimized only (currently it toggles between last map state, i.e., maximised if you closed a maximized map and likewise for minimized, and off).

3. show coordinates only on the minimized map and not on the maximized map?

I'm using the latest WoWI version so apologies if these are already changed. If they're changed where can I download the new version of mapster?
