Mapster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.11.0
by: Nevcairiel [More]

Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

Features

  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot.
All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

If you're looking for a replacement to Cartographer, i also recommend the following addons:

Mapster
1.11.0 (2023-11-28)
Full Changelog Previous Releases
  • Add 10.2 FogClear data
  • Disable multi-version packages
  • Remove Classic support
Maintaining Classic support has become a huge burden for this mod, since
it is designed to modify the Blizzard UI, and the UI diverges even
further between Retail and the different Classic variants with every
    update.
Hence, I rather focus my efforts on Retail, and other mods.

How do I prevent Mapster interfering with the blue highlighted areas on the world map when selecting a quest? It seems half the time these blue areas don't show up, and the other half of the time it just works fine.

I disabled Mapster and found that blue marked areas show up 100% of the time when clicking a quest, so Mapster is interfering with it somehow.

Have you see QuestMyMap? I didn't think I would ever find anything I thought Mapster needed, but this might be it!

Thank you.

Thanks, after your response I decided to double check that my addons and found another addon was running coordinates and Mapsters was actually turned off so I have that fixed now.

Mapster is <3. Thanks

That should be fairly easy to test. Mouseover your player arrow and compare both coordinates. I couldnt detect any error in the coordinates.

Any specific mode you use?

Is it just me or are the Cursor coordinates wrong? When I compare them to Wowhead or my friends addons the cursor coords don't match up but the player one does.

Oh, I see someone has resurrected MetaMap. yeah!

I'm also getting the script errors upon login, but most functionality seems to work properly. However, the minimized map version does not work.

You're using embedded libraries, which means that any performance data is totally inaccurate and meaningless; in your case, Mapster is (almost certainly) being "blamed" for the resource usage of all Ace3 addons. If you really want to find out how many CPU cycles or KB of memory Mapster actually uses, or are experiencing major framerate drops or client hangs and believe an addon is responsible, reinstall all of your addons with standalone libraries (and no embedded copies of any library). I'd suggest, though, that you simply stop worrying about the non-problem and leave concerns about the inner workings of addons to their authors.

You can already do that, well, with guildmates anyway.
