Minimap Button Frame  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.10f
by: Bachlott [More]

This little addon will gather up all of your addon minimap buttons and put them into a movable frame.

Features

- Minimap Button Skinning (Square Minimap Buttons)
- Add or Remove almost any minimap button
- Multiple Sorting Options - Including Custom!
- Collection of Blizzard Buttons
- Collect only the buttons you want
- Background Color can be changed from the config screen
- Hide most of the Blizzard Minimap Icons
- LDB Support
- Key Bindings
- Profile Support
- Basic Localization in English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

Future Features

- Full LDB version of MBF

Known Issues

Metamap minimap button is incompatable due to the way it is handled in the addon.

The addon does not grab button that do not have a name currently.

Currently discovered addons that are this way are:

Enchantrix (Part of Auctioneer Advanced)
onRaid

The Blizzard buttons that only show up under certain conditions, (battleground, LFG) will only display on the Frame when they are shown normally and active scanning is enabled. Otherwise they will apprear on the minimap when they are shown.

The Add feature is a little more powerful than I originally expected. So you can accidentally grab things that you didn't expect to be able to. (Other Addons) I've tried to protect the blizzard interface features and a couple other things, but let me know if you can grab something that you don't think you should be able to. If you do accidentally add something to the bag you can always remove it.

I've added a lot to the Localization, so it's another quick and dirty, horrible translation. Thanks again for the crazyness Google. So if you can do a better translation please help me out and submit it to me so I can add it to MBF. Hopefully Google didn't make them too funny or offensive.

Note:

The ability to add minimap icons to the table can be a general or partial name of the icons. The button override table add should be the exact name of the button that you want to override and collect.

As always your feedback is more than welcome!

having another issue with addon-based buttons being blacked out

that middle icon should be bugsack, but for some reason it (and any other addon buttons) get blacked out --- this happens after a reloadui, after i enable grid (of all things)

Exactly, it doesn't gather anything but a few random icons. This is what it looks like before a reload:

Then this is what it looks like after:

I've tried deleting my saved variables, deleting MBF and my saved variables, and anything else I can think of with no luck.

I just installed gatherer. Seems to work fine. No constant back and forth or anything. Make sure that you have note on the protected list so it doesn't grab them. Other than that I'm not sure what could be causing the issue. I'd also update to MBF 3.1.2. The library update could fix things for you as well.
Adding "note" (also "Note" just in case) as an exception fixed the problem. Thanks!

Edit: I take that back. It seems, even with Gatherer off, if you /reload, MBF breaks and does not gather the buttons.

When Gatherer is configured to show nodes in the Minimap while MBF is enabled, there are "button" circles around the node icons in the Minimap and the nodes are alternatively collected and then "un-collected", putting them back on the Minimap. I tried adding all sorts of variations on "Saronite Node", "Node", etc. on the Protected list, but the problem persists.

Maybe I am not adding these items to the protected list properly, or maybe there is some new name for Gatherer Minimap node icons?

Edit: To clarify, the nodes are continually gathered and then un-gathered, taking up a lot of CPU and making the combination of add-ons impossible to use together while farming.

I'll look into it. I stopped using Gatherer a long time ago. Maybe they renamed the nodes.

I'll check to see what the issue is. Figures, I had checked to make sure it would work completely by itself and it does fine. Now for some reason it doesn't want to work.

Looks like I had updated the library and didn't notice that the spelling of the directory was different for the new one. Fixed now.

That what I get in 4.0.1

Message: ...imapButtonFrame\libs\LibDBIcon-1.0\LibDBIcon-1.0.lua:39: LibDBIcon-1.0 requires LibDataBroker-1.1.
Time: 10/14/10 12:54:07
Count: 1
Stack: [C]: in function `error'
...imapButtonFrame\libs\LibDBIcon-1.0\LibDBIcon-1.0.lua:39: in main chunk

Locals: (*temporary) = "LibDBIcon-1.0 requires LibDataBroker-1.1."

PS. Looks like something is wrong with LibDataBroker loading. When I use BigWigs that loads LDB as well MBF works just fine. I myself could not make MBF to load LBD itself rather

issue

Hello, i've got an issue with this addon since 4.0.1, I can't move the box anymore nor close or open it, it's freezed but i can click the buttons inside the box ( if it is already opened when i login).

I checked into the interface menu and the lock button is unchecked.
Don't know what to do it doesn't seem to be due to another addon because i tryied it without any other addons.

Best regards

Edit: fixed the moving myself, it works, but still have an issue to open/ close the box !

MBF is collecting the ZygorGuide waypoint minimap dot and arrow.
Everything works fine if ZGVMarker is put into the exceptions. Maybe you could add this to the default exceptions.

Thanks for the update. It's nice to get them well before the expansion breaks everything.

No it's not you. It's the way MBF is setup.

When many addons name stuff that is to be shown on the minimap like mining nodes and such they call them icons or MinimapIcons. So I coded MBF to look for Icon in any names and to not collect them if they have it. Well what do you know some authors have named their buttons things like DropCount_MinimapIcon. So of course MBF ignores it.

So to make a long story short. It will be handled correctly by default next release.

Until then. Simply Add DropCount to the Minimap Icons on the Exceptions tab of the options. Then Add DropCount_MinimapIcon to the Button Override. That will tell MBF how to handle the Button properly.
