3.0.3.15 is now more efficient by looking only for debuffs which can be applied in your current zone (i.e. if you're in Naxxramas, it will look for Necrotic Posion, but it will not look for Curse of the Deadwood). It's also updated for the upcoming UnitGUID-based versions of Grid, though for now it's also compatible for the current UnitName-based versions. I do, however, suggest that as soon as the UnitGUID-based versions become available, you update Grid, as I will remove backward compatibility soon thereafter.

Versions of Grid prior to 1.30000.2009011501 used UnitName to identify units internally; this was why it got confused when a hunter named his pet after a player. Current versions of Grid use UnitGUID to identify units internally, so there is no confusion, since GUIDs are unique.

Grid2 is a completely different addon with completely different code and a different API. Grid2 is also an incomplete and unreleased alpha addon that no normal user should be using, and until it is completed and released, I won't be writing a Grid2 version of this plugin... and when I do, it will be separate, since no user should ever run Grid and Grid2 at the same time.

I'm guessing you mean the Necrotic Strike that absorbs healing, not the Necrotic Strike used by Undying Minions in Icrecrown, in which case that is outside the current scope of this addon. Effects that absorb healing are not supported, intentionally. The goal is that when you see a pink square (or whatever) appear on a unit, you know that your healing spells will be less effective on that unit, and you should avoid casting heals on them unless absolutely necessary, until the pink square disappears.

By contrast, you usually want to cast heals on units with healing absorption effects, to get rid of the effect as quickly as possible (at least in PvE, which is all I do).

I may consider adding a third status to track absorption effects, but right now it's intentional that they're not supported.

Even if I ever add support for absorption effects, this is probably not something I would add. Tooltip or combat log parsing are both very expensive in terms of CPU time, and excessive CPU use is the main cause of low FPS. Knowing exactly how much healing was absorbed is simply not valuable enough to justify the cost of getting that information. If you disagree, you (or others) are welcome to write a new plugin that tracks that kind of thing.

I could, but really, text that must be read and mentally parsed is the slowest possible way to show information in Grid. A simple colored square is much faster to see and comprehend. Icons and durations are supported, but I probably will not add a more detailed text display, especially since showing this information would require either tooltip scanning (which is too expensive) or building a more detailed static database. If you want to spend hours of your own time building such a database, I guess I would include it, but I don't personally see this information as valuable enough to justify the effort.
