oGlow  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.2.5
by: haste [More]

oGlow will light up your items, by adding a quality border to them. It will only display this border for common quality items and above.

It will currently only display the quality borders on the following places:
* Inventory
* Inspect
* Bank
* Guild bank
* Bags
* Mail
* Merchant
* Trade
* Professions
* Character fly-out
* Character
* Loot
* Void storage

I will make it support some other frames also, but this is it for now.

look for SetTexture in displays/border.lua.

If it doesn't I'd recommend you to ask the author of ArkInventory to implement it, as I won't be adding support for ArkInventory (or any non-Blizzard add-on for that matter).
I got ark to have border glow, so i have the functionality, but i do have to say, oglow is waaay better looking and I still run it for my other frames.

For anyone experiencing issues post 4.1, the version of oGlow on github (namely, v2.0.6) has resolved the bugs for me; for now.

https://github.com/haste/oGlow

Thanks Haste!

NOTE:
Please be aware that the folder name must be renamed to "oGlow" or the addon simply will not function.

Your stack traces line numbers are off (by a lot). Could you try the current WoWInterface version?

I had oGlow working for all of twenty minutes, now it doesn't work.

I don't understand what could have happened; it just doesn't do anything now. If I put a bug in it, I can get it to throw an error, but it seems to do nothing if operating correctly. Even downloading and loading it all by itself doesn't work.

-Crissa

EDIT: Argh, I figured it out. Somehow it got set so all the frames were 'on' but the special effect was 'off' in each of them. x-x

Lastly, personally I set it so that Poor items glow as well. And I'm thinking of making all the glows less-bright. These might be fun options to keep, though since I'll never change them personally, I'm unlikely to write option code for them, instead just making it do it...

I have used BaudBag and oGlow without problem for a long time by disabling oGlow for the bag and bank frame.

My problem is when i try to inspect someone.
I get an error counting message and then it ask me to disable oGlow as there have been to many errors.

Note that the error message is not always displayed right away as you open the inspect panel, it take some time before it show up and even if you close the inspect farm before the error show up the error will still show later.

I didn't get any other lua error only this one when inspecting.

I'm at work now when I go home I will post the exact error message I get.

OneBag/OneBank shows the same problem: if the item is in the 1st slot of the bag, the glow is in the last. it's using an inverted order of the slots.

Was working perfectly with your previous version (haste-oGlow-1.12-0-gf46f802), but on that I had errors everytime I opened my character pane.
Now the errors are gone, but oGlow order of bag slots is broken.

For laughs, I went and tried to invert the order in OneBag.. the situation remains the same. the item is here, the glow is all the way over there. (item can be moved and the glow will move accordingly on the mirrored position.)

Thanks for trying to fix this addon, hopefully there will be a way to fix this newly added bug too.

Take care,
WoLf
You can already work around the bug as mentioned in the post you quoted:
1. /oglow
2. Disable "Bag containers" by clicking the checkbox.
3. Disable "Player bank frame" by clicking the checkbox.
4. ReloadUI

You have to reload the UI as oGlow doesn't know that the OneBag frames are highlighted. I don't keep track on what frames are highlighted and not.
