TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.
TomTom offers the following major features:
/way 14.78 23.90
/way Nagrand 45 50
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
/way reset all
/way reset Nagrand
/wayb Here
/wayback
/cway
/closestway

Yes the repository here on WowInterface and the same on Curseforge are both available.

It might have looked like a little change but the result was really day and night for me. Because of the change I was able to play 4 hours yesterday without having any issues with TomTom. Before that, problems with missing waypoints started happening 10-15 minutes in max when player with big waypoint generators like WoWPro. In any cases, I've hacked my local copy of TomTom so no hurry on my account and thanks for all the hard work into this :-). |

That change was committed early last week, it just hasn't been pushed because its not a substantial change in and of itself. Thanks.

Hey Cladhaire, I beleive my issue with only one waypoint getting displayed when multiple where added is similar to the one Ludovicus is reporting. I've been trying to get you more information about it here's what I observed.
The waypointMap table in TomTom_Waypoints.lua get "drity" real fast. It list multiple entries that points the the same point. When that happen, there will be multiple entries in TomTom.waypoints but all the corresponding entries in waypointMap will refer to the same point. This is why only one point is displayed. Long story short, I've added a waypointMap[uid] = nil in TomTom:ClearWaypoint(). This solve the issue for me. Hope that helps. |

The map system is fragile, to say the least =)

Another case, and a bizzare clue
I added a function to dump the current waypoints in the zone and list them out. When it is in this funny state, the waypoints are listed, but only the last one entered shows on the minimap or map. The ones that are not showing are in the right map/floor and the same one as the one that showed.
I also modified the Coordinate Block so it would display map and floor. When I accepted [Safety in Numbers] I was in map 611 in the Gilneas starting zone (68.09,54.12). But if I stepped in the wrong spots, then I switched to map 678. Depending on which direction I approached the same "Huntsman Blake", I was in a different zone! WTF?!?!? I have the feeling there is more than one thing going wrong here.

Okay, I can reproduce that, although it requires a /reload. I'll see what I can to get it fixed.

Disappearing Waypoints
OK:
@ Rut'theran Villiage /tway Darnassus 47.97 14.16 TheHowlingOak3 /tway Darnassus 46.04 34.73 TheHowlingOak2 /tway Darnassus 41.88 48.25 TheHowlingOak1 then go through the portal to Darnassus. The last two waypoints disappear. WowPro was inactive at the time. Happens on about 1:3 of the logins.

If you can give me (somewhat) reproducable conditions that involve just TomTom (the /tway version, I suppose) then I'll do my best to get it resolved. Also, feel free to open a ticket on curseforge so its a bit easier for us to track.

We do, call TomTom:RemoveWaypoint(), from the final destination.
But I put some prints in that area to see if we were removing them and we were not calling that function at that point in time. I also noticed that when things are odd, that if I try to set more than one waypoint using /tway that only the last one is kept, even through I give them different titles. Odd. Then it works later.

Is WoWPro removing waypoints itself? Is it calling 'RemoveWaypoint' or 'ClearWaypoint'?

On WowPro Woes (Part 2)
Then the other problem is disappearing waypoints.
Quest accepted: To Greymane Manor TomTom: Added a waypoint (28.17, 50.03) in Gilneas2 TomTom: Added a waypoint (28.71, 51.05) in Gilneas2 TomTom: Added a waypoint (30.38, 52.53) in Gilneas2 Snazzy arrow leads me to the last waypoint, which is the closest, but then no more waypoints. Doing "/dump TomTom:GetClosestWaypoint()" to see what is what gets me: Dump: value=TomTom:GetClosestWaypoint() empty result. In this case, the only addons were WowPro, TomTom and Swatter. I logout, log back in, no waypoint. But this time disabling and enabling the WowPro addon, which results in the same chat text, now gets all 3 waypoints in. I am at my wits end!

On WowPro Woes
Hey there!
Us WoWPro folks are seeing an odd, occasional failure. Our addon adds a waypoint fairly early in the startup process and it seems to get swallowed up. The text in the chat log looks like: Identity 400000 loaded TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 Wowhead Looter Loaded (40017) Welcome to patch 4.1! Please see the In-Game Knowledgebase for patch information, common issues and concerns, TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 Joined Channel: [1. General - Gilneas] Joined Channel: [3. LocalDefense - Gilneas] Total time played: 0 days, 2 hours, 25 minutes 58 seconds. But no snazzy arrow. Now if I disable and re-enable the WoWPro addon, I get: TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 TomTom: Added a waypoint (47.42 87.13) in Gilneas2 And the Snazzzy arrow appears. Is there such a thing as adding waypoints too soon?
