LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

To update the addon, I just deleted the lightheaded directories and replaced them with the updated release for 3.2. I have done this several times in the past anytime this addon has been updated.
If you're missing some old quests, but not others, it sounds like you may have missed a folder or two.

Try /lh attach.

If you get an error, LH didn't load properly, and therefore it didn't install properly. Otherwise, LH should show up on the right of your quest log again.

I saw this last night, but I hadn't updated yet, I was just running with Load Out of Date Addons checked. This was on a Mac. My wife, sitting next to me, had updated LH, and didn't have the issue. This was on Vista.

One difference: when I closed the lightheaded tab, it went behind the quest pane and I couldn't click the nub to reopen it. I had to /lh detach /lh attach .. and then it went right back to the "wrong" position. (Mine is up and to the right tho.)

.. But if the latest updates are TOC and comment parse, I don't see what updating should have to do with it. And in theory at least, OS shouldn't matter either.

Hi,
I have the latest version but I am seeing something odd. Each time I open Blizzard's new double wide quest log Lightheaded is displayed, I am not sure how to say this, it is slightly north west of where it should be. It is not attached to the right edge of the quest log. I is behind it slightly and shifted left and up. If I close the Lightheaded tab and reopen it then it attached properly to the right edge of the quest log. Annoying but I can live with it until you have a chance to fix it. Or tell me if I have something configured wrong. I have been using it pretty much since you first released it and had no problems until Bliz changed the log display. Figures, used to work just fine with the Doublewide mod.

Thanks,
Twidget

No, LightHeaded has been updated for hours. I suggest you ensure you are using the latest version before reporting any issues. The window is properly aligned with the default quest log and works just fine.
