LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

Format for partyquest/cosmos

You can download and test, but I don't believe so. LightHeaded doesn't work for compatibility with quest log mods, there are simply too many of them. If someone wants to integrate their quest log mod with LightHeaded, I can provide any help that is required.
id like to take you up on that offer, if it would be possible to format this to work with the cosmos partyquest (a part of cosmos) that would be nice. i unfortantly have no experiance with coding, and cant do this my slef...plz help! tyvm

Re: Re: Re: Help for the not so computer savy

I have used this for leveling 1 to 58 and its the best mod so far imo. There maybe something already here but i'm lazy to read (why use the mod).

when leveling if clicked the co-ords an on screen arrow appeared showing me the direction to run. However in Outlands this does not work, i assume this is correct due to outlands been coded different correct?

thus the need for tomtom

EDIT:

Tomtom make work like it does when leveling 1 to 58 cool

tomtom is a must

keep up the good work

Thanks for this! I would have never known! I'm excited to use everything!

With the first, you don't right-click on them, you left click but in order to use this you need another addon such as TomTom to display the waypoints. LightHeaded also has no way to differentiate between quests of the same name, same level. It has the series information, but the comments you get will be folded together into one bunch.

Unless Blizzard gives us more data, there's nothing I can do about that.

Cheers

I've downloaded lighthearted, used winzip to extract the files, and have them in the right addon folder...and all twelve lighthearted components show up on my wow screen when I first log in. However, when I try to use the feature I can't right click the cords to track them on my map. Also, it doesn't seem to be updating when I complete a series quest and move to the next one (example is Arugal's Folly...lightheaded gives me the info for the lvl 15 quest, but I'm actually on the next one). Again, I'm sure it's some stupid mistake I'm making, but I don't really have anyone I can ask for help so anything you can share with me would be fantastic! Thanks!

All 17 of the quests that I did last night, had all the information i needed, provided by Lightheaded. I find it useful that I can click NPC and objective coordinate locations, and it marks it on my map for me to just zero in on. I made quite a bit of money in just one night of questing. So thank you very much for creating this very useful addon. I am already telling fellow guild members and other WoW friends about it so they too can enjoy this addon.
Thanks for the kind words!

Each version of LightHeaded has 12 different addons that need to be installed.. I would suggest installing all of them each time.

Is it me or the version number just didn't change inside the program or does the download site have an old version on it?

Everything is working great, just dont seem to be able to upgrade to the latest 175
The number displayed in-game comes from when I change the main LightHeaded.lua file, not when the data files are updated. This is "correct", if not misleading.

I removed LH completely and re-copyed the entire r175 to AddOn-folder, and now it works... STRANGE...

Apatterns seems to point that H80 file is corrupt... But I've even tried to upgrade while the problem is here.. I've tried r171 and r175 with same result

And just for the record.... H20, H40, H60 and H80 are all enabled.. [/b]
