LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

This is a pretty nice mod, I got it to work once with one chr, the moment I logged into my second one it reverts back to the standard view. I've tried deleting the folders several times and even my WTF folder. I just cant get it back.

Yeah, a few people have had this issue. I think I'll re-name the main folder to avoid confusion, or put a readme.txt or something.. =/

Thanks,

bEQL, nQuestLog, FuBar_QuestFu, and I think MonkeyQuest all do this. Personally I use bEQL, and yes it does play nice with LightHeaded.

On my old setup I could see all of the quest info when I moused over a mob. i.e. If the quest was to kill 10 ****tigers then when I moused over a ****tiger it would tell me 1 or 10 killed in the mob info box. It would also tell you what quest it was. It was very very handy mod to have in places that had a lot of mobs that were related.

Any help on what mod this may have been would be GREAT!!!

Lightbulb Helpful tip for staying up-to-date

Some people have asked for this mod to be "Aced".. and all they really want is for it to update with a minimum of effort every so often so that they have the latest comments. For these people, there is now a solution.

If you use the Java-based Ace updater, "JWoWUpdater", you may now configure it to handle non-Ace mods from WoWInterface and Curse. In the case of Lightheaded, go to "Handle non-Ace mods", and at the bottom where you can add a new one, use Name: LightHeaded, Site: WOWINT, and ID: 7017. Save that. Now every time you update your Ace mods, your LightHeaded will update too.

For other mods, just find the appropriate ID and put it in. It's in the URL of the main page of the mod.

Enjoy!

The double-wide quest log is accomplished through an addon called DoubleWide, as indicated in LightHeaded's addon description. In addition, the in-game version number does not need to correspond to the downloaded version, it's a different number that's displayed in-game, for my purposes.

a simple question. how do you get to view the 3 page option (like in the screen prints)

quest titles/story/light-headed

I've looked around the options and can't see anything.

Also, I have just tried to update from v.167 to v177 and it still says version v.176 is this normal. I'm a lvl 24 night elf rouge on European RP server.

I have deleted my old light-headed folders as per the red writing but still doesn't work right

Thanks in advance !!!

Thanks,
There's nothing magical that I can tell you to do. Its just an addon that needs to be installed, the same as any other addon. I have no idea what wowclient is. Is the addon appearing in your addon listing? What "doesn't work"? Where are the files you downloaded located, i.e. where are they installed?
