LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

Updating - Where are the other folders (Lightheaded_*)?

I am trying to update my version of LightHeaded. I deleted all of the LightHeaded* folders in my Addon directory. When I extract the zip file that is downloaded, I don't see the extra LightHeaded folders. Do I need them? I'm referring to folders such as LightHeaded_A20_Data, LightHeaded_A40_Data, etc...

By sheer luck, I stumbled across the conflicting add-on: Armory. Disabling it fixed the issues I was seeing.
Where can I get Armory, so I can figure out how to stop the problem?

Thanks.

I can't fix bugs that I'm not aware of, and you guys are the only ones that can report and say with 100% certainty that with version A of this addon giving me the direct URL to download it, and version B of LightHeaded, I experience the following behavior.

The latest version of LH is over 13MiB.

I am not complaining, just asking if LH will get, if possible, LoD back. Thanks!
Yes. It was a temporary solution for my sanity.

I use Fubar's FuQuest to keep track of quests in game. Prior to patch 2.4, while using r183 of LH, when I clicked on a quest in FuQuest, I got the quest window and a window from LH for the WoWHead info. Life was good.

Pre-patch 2.4 pic

However, post Patch 2.4, with r219 of LH and r66909 of FuQuest, when I click on on a quest in FuQuest, I get an error message of "interface\addons\lightheaded\lightheaded.lua:113:attempt to compare number with string", and get no WoWHead window.

Post-patch 2.4 pic

I will add that when I use the in game quest log, the LH window is there with the WoWHead info, so LH is definately working and I can live with that.

Again, I can find no error log to provide more information and have enabled debugging on LH. Any ideas or throw a noob a clue on where to get you more info?

Thanks for your efforts and for a great (and essential) mod.
Then you have an issue with QuestFu. It needs to be updated.

nQuestlog has been updated to work with the current build of lightheaded. I had errors(nQuestLog) at first myself and ran the aceupdater and everythings working fine now.

nQuestLog's authors assistance thread :

Step 3: open quest log and it works - check

Ok I have further narrowed my problem down. When I enable Lightheaded and nQuestlog, the wowhead quest-help window does not appear.

Are you aware of issues when Lightheaded is paired with nQuestlog under 2.4?
I'd check to see if nQuestLog has an update (I saw some commits, it would be good to check this). If it doesn't work, you'll need to approach that author.

You mention installing it properly. Is it not a drag to the add-ons folder type install?

What did I do wrong?
I don't understand what you mean. What "questgiver" data, that would be the LightHeaded data. The comments are on the other pages, if you're operating in paging mode. Please post a screenshot or be more descriptive.

Thanks.
