LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

Yes, I actually parsed everything without too much difficulty. Unfortunately there was a VERY drastic change in how the SimpleHTML widget in WoW works, and it will break some aspects of LightHeaded with a hard crash to client until I get them fixed. As a result, I'm holding off on releaseing a WotLK version until I can get things properly fixed, which may take a bit of time.

Clique and TomTom of course still work fine.

Do you have a specific quest name/id?

Me too then LOL, Becuase I used to get two arrows I would turn off/hide one which I though was TomTom and left the other one up, which I thought was lightheaded.

Maybe it is just functioning like it is suppose to LOL and all along is was an error/double coding in TomTom?

If you were getting two arrows, one was TomTom and one was Cartographer.

Specifically one arrow had a right click menu that allowed you to move the arrow to bottom of list ( which I thought was LH ) the other one didnt have that functionallity, but you can click on the little arrows in the minimap and set that as the waypoint arrow. That is why I though there were two different waypoint mods running.

I Love the mods and other then that odd ( which I understand now to be normal) behavior I have had no other issues with it.

I think I am getting the same issue now, If I have TomTom and LH loaded I can click and get the TomTom arrow but not the LH arrow. With TomTom removed it appears as though when you click on the Coord links nothing happens. Re enabling TomTom places the arrows and MiniMap icons when clicking the link.

It seems to me the LH Waypoint function got suppressed somehow. I dont see a command line to re enable the arrows or anything.

I downloaded the latest versions of both and deleted out the saved variable files, but still seems to have the same issue regardless.

Any suggestions on what to try?

What was being reported was an issue CLICKING on the links in LightHeaded. Again, this is NOT a bug I can fix.. but a nuance with Blizzard's widget systems in various scales. I've experienced it myself, and there's little to nothing that I can do about it.

Actually, I've had this issue for awhile, even when disabling every addon except Lightheaded, Doublewide, and TomTom. The only 'fix' I've ever known is to reload the ui and the arrow pops up in main screen and on the minimap where they should be *shrug*.

Troubleshooting Results:
As disabling all addons except the aforesaid 3 still results in no waypoint arrows AND the fact that with all my usual addons running I can get the arrows to show with a simple reloadui, disabling/changing nothing...shows that there is no addon conflict possible.

Perhaps this could stand to be fixed

I dont have many addon just LH, tomtom, and UI. Ill try and disable the UI and see if that helps but the servers are down now.
I also tried to read the older post see if anyone had this prob too but to many post to go threw them all. Any suggestions?

There are no known issues with this, other than the random spotty issues that the Blizzard widgets have where they're particular about where they are clicked. You should always disable all other addons to rule out any conflicts.
