LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

QuestLevel is out-of-date. Why bothering when you don't have a clue of what you're commenting..

Cladhaire: Did you use QuestLevel before but left it for QueLevel?

Should be fixed in r282. Sorry about that.

Reverting to 280 temporarily definitely fixed it, thanks.

Yes, I can see and reproduce the issue now. There is no NPC data in the new release. I'm working on a fix, but wowhead changed their markup.

Reporting same issue, just a confirmation.

I manually removed 281 and installed again, still had the problem.

Thought it might be a conflict with other modules so I disabled all add-ons except LH, still had the problem.

Just one example that I know reports it:
quest: 'Study of the Elements: Rock'
starts/ends: Lotwil Veriatus

Clicking on Lotwil gives the 'Location Unknown'.

Interesting, I'll take a look at it. Feel free to revert if you need locations until I can get it fixed.

I had the same problem, and thought the same thing, reinstall.

I deleted all the LightHeaded folders, and unzipped the new ones from the downloaded archive. I got the same results three times in a row - Location Unknown on any linked NPC.

I don't use any updaters since wowmatrix went south, and in fact I've reinstalled all of my addons manually very recently.

No, the updated version is working just fine. I suggest a reinstall, possibly manually.

I updated it today using the WowInterface updater, and now whenever i click on a name in the "Starts" or "Ends" field, the known locations only shows as "Location Unknown". I no longer get the NPC's coordinates. Is this a known bug with the new version?

Either way is fine, just wondering if I was missing something about the functionality.

Thanks for the notes on /commands to personalize how Lightheaded displays, I'll try those out today!

Yea, if you bring your cursor out to the right edge of lightheaded till it changes shape, click on it and it will close the lightheaded box. I am not sure if it closes it so that it doesn't draw any memory, but it will get it out of the way.
Not sure if your aware of this, but lightheaded doesn't pull any information from the websites when you open it. Claidhaire does this already, so when everyone opens their quest log it doesn't bog down wowhead with requests about quests. That is what the update was today a reparse/update of wowhead.

You mean Questlevel?
That addon is quite out-of-date but seems to work fine, but I'm not sure it won't make fps drop when Lightheaded is getting loaded.

Edit: Hm...okey there is an addon named Quelevel, but latest version seems to have bugs.
