LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

And the /lh command doesn't work?
Are you running Windows Vista?
Do you have Lua errors enabled?

Re: Arrow Does Not Appear

I had a complete clear out of my addons (and variable files) and downloaded the latest versions, however Lightheaded is no longer working properly! when I click on a co-ordinate from the quest log I no longer get the arrow for directions (although I do see a quick flash of a white square where the arrow should be!), However if I Ctrl right click in Cartographer and select create way point the arrow then appears - if I then go back to the quest log and click a coordinate nothing happens?

I am using the following addons:
Lightheaded r169
Cartographer (17102007)
Titan Panel v3.11 (coordinates disabled)
TomTom v3.2
Duckie Bank v2.41a
Guild Event Manager v2.27
Spellcraft v1.108
Auctioneer V4.05
Atlas v1.10 / Atlas Loot Enhanced v4.01/ Quests v3.20
CT Mailmod v2.0
Guild Mailer
Guild Greet v2.20

I tried restoring all my old addons and settings / saved variables but still no joy - so again wiped addons folder and saved variables reinstalled them all one by one (starting with lightheaded - which still didn't work properly just on it's own!).

Please help because I believe that this is a fabulous addon that is really useful!

Is the waypoint added to TomTom? If you're having an issue with the arrow, it's a Cartographer issue, especially if the waypoint is being added to TomTom. There's nothing that changed in LightHeaded that would effect this, that I'm aware of.

Re: still not working

For me it is not downloading the compressed folder. No matter which link i click on. It comes up as a text icon for the file and with the .efw ending. I dont know why. The file name that comes up on the download screen is Lightheaded-r169[1].1.321c02.efw and the download window says its and unknown file type.
Then something is odd with your client. Right-clicking on the download button above, and clicking Save As should download it correctly. I suggest downloading Firefox and trying using that.

LightHeaded is a .zip file.

Umm.. that means you have no saved variables, which doesn't make any sense.. can you run /script LightHeadedDB = {} and reload ui?

This is SOOO good for me! I hope it works with MonkeyQuest I'm installing it right now. This is good for me since I always have a window open with a site like thottbot or wowhead open just for any confusing quest I have. And my computer sucks, so less waiting! lol

Someone mentioned that you should run WoW from outside the Program Files folder, i.e. install it to some other location and you end up having less issues with Vista's UAC. Thanks for reporting back.

Is it no way to keep the security and work with the addon ??? WOW was launched in Administrator mode.
I have absolutely 0 experience with Windows Vista, for obvious reasons. This is just an addon, a directory of text files and I have no idea why you'd be having issues with it.
