Nameplates Modifier  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: r20091227
by: Shadowed [More]

Nameplates Modifier is meant to be a simple, well nameplate modifier. This lets you do basic things, such as hiding the cast and health borders and the elite indicators, as well as changing the status bar texture, text settings of level/names/cast bars can be changed including font, font size, font outline, shadow and all that fun stuff. Includes text inside the health and cast bars, that lets you see things such as, time left, current health, etc etc etc.

This is not going to let you change every single nameplate option.

Slash commands: /nameplates (/np shorthand)

That should be fixed next push, as well as being able to hide the elite indicators and some general code cleanups.

I agree, it is a very nice addon and I second the idea to have an option to remove the level text.

On another note, I'm getting a minor bug. Randomly, the nameplates will show up as they would if the addon wasn't installed. The only fix for this has been to hit my nameplates key twice and "refresh" them so it skins properly (border removed and font resized). Screenshot here.

It's an illusion, they show up and disappear at the same distance.

Nameplate distance

The viewing distance of the actual nameplates seems to be alot lower in terms of in game yards than alofts, is there any way i could request adding in the further range of viewing mobs/enemies nameplates from a far distance? tyvm

Ps love this addon, so much more lightweight and does (most) the things i need it to do.

Are you sure it's not another mod conflicting? Because I haven't had issues enabling class coloring and getting it to show

Aye, I found it, but it has no effect on the addon.

My faction's nameplates stay the default friendly colour whilst the enemy faction remains the hostile colour. No class colouring is taking place.

That's because it's not an option, the ability to class color bars is a Blizzard option, not a Nameplates Modifier one.

Love the addon, was exactly what I was looking for.

However, I cannot seem to find the option to class colour the bars anywhere in the config set up. I've gone over it quite a bit making sure I wasn't overlooking anything, but I can't find it.

Any help would be appreciated.

First off thanks for the addon, because even with the simple base modifiers and lightweight structure it makes nameplates alot more useful (and from any aspect aloft just uses WAY too much memory.)

I have the latest build but it seems that in 3.0.8 the options dont hold after reloading the ui. Things such as text/bar texture/etc only update it I open the nameplates config panel and reset them after each load. The default settings aren't bad, and I have simply gone to using them but I was wondering why the settings dont seem to be holding anymore. I also tried deleting all the .lua settings to reset the addon to fresh settings but this still doesnt seem to fix the problem. Thanks.

cast bar alignment

I'm having an issue where the cast bar doesn't line up vertically beneath the health bar when I choose to hide the cast bar border.

If the border remains, it seems fine. If I select hide cast bar, and then unselect it, the border will remain hidden, and the alignment will be fixed.

I would love for the cast bar alignment issue to be fixed if possible. I like the minimalistic look of no borders.

Great mod for what I want to do with it.

Wow Shadowed, thanks for the fast update! A note to other users - I found I needed to wipe my saved variables for this mod after the update to make the settings behave properly. YMMV!

These are fixed in next push.

I don't plan on adding any sort of height/width modifications, or class colored names, you can class color the bars now as of 3.0.

Just wanted to confirm both of these, I see these as well. Great mod even still, was really looking for something small and simple like this!

Please, add one feature - resizing the unitframe. Current nameplates are so thin and I used to increse height of it in aloft.
Thanks
