TBag  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 070123
by: TalosWoten [More]

Rejoice!

This is the long awaited expansion to EngBags, which works with 2.0. Yay!

In addition to the auto-sorting you've come to know and love, I've added many new features, including searching for items (in mail, etc.) You can also see and use the original default UI bags, which have slots free overlaid on top of them. There are also many convenience features, like highlighting new items, colored spotlighting, and purchase bank bags without having to unload the addon. A visual edit mode allows you to rearrange categories to your taste, and an advanced customization window enables you to completely configure every aspect of TBag.

Getting Started

TBag can only "see" something you've seen, so for every character:

1) Open your bags
2) Go to the bank
3) Check your mail
4) View your body
5) Open all your trade windows

This allows you to view the bag and bank contents of your characters at any time (sorted according to their trade skills) by clicking the name dropdown in the upper right. It also enables you to do a full item search from the search textbox just to the left of the name dropdown.

Unless you are actually developing the project in question, there is no reason for you to worry about what's under the hood. From a user point of view, if it works well, has the required features, is reasonably efficient, and is regularly maintained then that's all the buttons you need.

From a developer point of view, yes there are advantages in building on a mature set of libraries, but equally, there are associated disadvantages.

Assuming that a self-contained project is inferior to an Ace based project (for example) simply on the grounds that one has Ace and the other does not is not only incorrect, but also impolite. It's very easy to build horrifically bad projects using the excellent Ace libraries - ones that will completely break the original Ace philosophies. Unfortunately, we are now seeing "Users-want-Ace" stamps on addons, with no real justification at all.

Sorry to get off the point.
I'll be trying out this new version - I've recently hit some performance problems with my current bag handler (Ace-based for what it's worth), and want to see if this performs any better.

I had tried TBag a while ago, and I have to admit I don't really like it... the "all in one window" bag interface is not something I enjoy. As an alternative, I'm using Baggins , an Ace2 inventory addon which provides what I need. Just my €0.2

I like this mod a lot.

It does exactly what I want...sorts items into categories to make them easier to find, allows you to see new items you just looted (helps in deleting the junk, or trading an item to a companion).

I can't check now, servers are down for maintenance, but if it doesn't allow an option to turn off (at merchant, bank, mailbox) I'd like that feature if it's not too difficult to implement. The other feature I'd like to have is to have this mod Aced. It took me a long time to finally break down and go to Ace, but the reusable libraries are such a huge advantage that I'm trying to use all Ace mods. However, ace or not, this is the best bag mod out there.

Love the mod, and thx for updating it. This, Grid and Clique are probably the only things I would not want to play without.

I'd like to say I'm probably up to like 94 on memory, but I know what causes it, seems I use too many addons for all my toons otherwise I love this bag, total management, anyone can call me lazy or whatever, but being able to view all my bags in all my toons and being able to have them sorted so I just have to glance once when its open and find what I need is totally wicked. I guess I can try to bring down the memory and see if the bag uses a lot, but why bother, the large memory usage don't bother me at all... don't get what his beef was with it

This mod sorts. I've not found another one that does it like Tbags (EngInventory, bags). I can find items quickly and easily without spending the time to sort it all myself in one big bag.

So speak for yourself.

On the other hand, this last version (I can't test the new one yet since the servers are down) was quite buggy. But I have faith. EngInventory was my all time favorite mod. =) I could do without the bank part, tho. Is it possible to turn the bank off completely?

Red face 3469 is fixed... no really ;-O

My apologies for the broken version the last couple weeks. I actually uploaded the same, broken version thinking it was the new one. I've posted a version today (1/23) that actually *is* the new version. It fixes several bugs, among them the

Line 3469 nil
Line 3485 nil
New character gray
Last bank bag

I have never been so insulted by an addon in my life. Suddenly I went from 17mb to 44mb usage. On top of that, this is pointless. No one needs this much item management for 5 bags and a bank. There are plenty of other mods out there that do what this mod does but without the memory usage and stupid frame. GG. I'm actually logging out of wow to delete this one, as I don't want it on my pc any longer than neccessary.

Broken Mod?

Is this working for ANYONE now?

My bank frame is completely screwed up. It will not update or show new items, and reloading the UI has no effect at all.

Oh, and I am using the line 3469 fix as well. It fixed the inventory problem, it works fine, but bank is completely screwed, and the New Bank slot is still screwed up too.

Interface/Addons/Tbag/Tbag.Iua:3469:attempt to concatenate field '?' (a nil value)

Please help.

Correction, I was clearing some old files and realized that TBag is no longer working with any of my toons, the error message above is given whenever I try to use TBag, I love this mod, is there a way to fix it?
I am having this same problem and am using Cosmos... could that have anything to do with it?

Seems to be having some problems with the new sixth bag slot. Fifth and sixth seem to get confused, had to disable to actually put a bag in the sixth spot, and clicking on it highlights both fifth and sixth.
