I am no longer developing or maintaining World of Warcraft addons. I haven't played in years, and don't have the time or interest to continue working on addons for a game I don't play anymore. If you are an addon author interested in continuing one of my addons, please see https://phanx.net/addons/. If you are an addon user, sorry, but there won't be any more fixes or updates from me. |
(*) As of Patch 5.4 using Up/Down to access previously entered chat lines without the Alt key is limited to non-secure commands only. If you need to access previously entered secure commands (like /cast or /use) you will still need to hold the Alt key.Options & Commands
(**) If a channel is sticky, then after talking in that channel, the chat input box will open to the same chat type again, rather than making you type /g or /ra again.
Some additional options, such as customizing which channels are made sticky and what abbreviations are used for channel names, are available by editing the Core.lua file in a plain-text editor such as Notepad. If you break something, download a fresh copy and try again.Language Support

Please post the error message that's being generated. Enable Lua errors in the Interface Options > Help or install tekErr.

Suppress Problem
I can't seem to get the "suppress repeats" or "suppress channels" to function. This is going to sound crazy ... but when I type /pchat suppress channels ... it won't even allow me to press enter. I can delete any one letter or change any one letter and it will simply bring up the /pchat menu.
Strange. |

Re: Re: Class Colors
I just updated my version of PhanxChat tonight, I could have ~sworn~ the colors used to be a bit softer and lighter toned, but they seem to match up now. |

Re: Class Colors
That said, if you want to change the colors in PhanxChat, you'll need to find where it's reading out of RAID_CLASS_COLORS and give it your own table instead, or modify specific values in the local table created. |

Class Colors
Hi,
Is there anyway to change the class colors? Some of the class colors seem a little bit off, I would like to make them more like the default colors used in the guild window. The only thing I could fine was on line 177, but I'm not quite sure what to make of that. I tried searching around to see if anyone had already asked this but was unable to find anything. Thanks.

PhanxChat has no code that affects chat frame dimensions or positions. Either you have another addon interfering, or your game client is unable to write that information to the LayoutCache.txt file (in WTF\<YourAccount>\<YourServer>\<YourCharacter>\) which normally stores the dimensions and positions for Blizzard UI frames. Check that the file is not read-only, or simply delete it while WoW is not running (note that this will likely reset the positions of some other frames as well). Either way, it's not caused by PhanxChat, and not something I can add/change code to deal with.

Quick question,
Tried to kinda skim the responses here and didn't see anything yet so hopefully somebody knows. Every time I log out and back in the chat window anchor seems to default to 0,0; the expanded size resets and I have to redo it every time? Is there a location in the LUA file I can just edit the chat window size and loc? Or if there is an easier way I'm all for it. Thanks!! |

Uploaded 3.0.1. Tell-target commands are once again functional, although they will not currently change the edit box to show the target's name once you hit the Space key. Typing "/tt" or "/wt" followed by a message and pressing Enter will send the message to your current target. The old method hooked a secure function and incurred too high a performance cost. If I can find another, cheaper, way to dynamically update the displayed message recipient, you may see this behavior added back in the future.

Okey dokey, well, at least it's known ;-)
I might just regress back to the previous vers, since i wasn't having any issues with it. |

That's already been reported several posts down the page, as well as in the bug report tracker.

I can't seem to get /tt or /wt to work, has it changed functionality in a recent update?
I used to able to target someone and just do a "/tt " and the chat box would switch to whispering the target (pinky/purply whisper text) as soon as i hit space. TotemTimers had the same /tt command which i changed, but didn't affect phanxchat's /tt<space> command. If you need anymore info, just tell me and i'll get it to you. |
