Re: Suggestion

I disagree with it. I personally would rather just show a timer instead of fading out. Other thing you know that LB works every 7 seconds, what I did with my resto druid was just counted out of memory.

It also helps if we had some kind of priority healing as well. Look at GridStatusHealPriority to see how it works. When it comes down to big raids a perfect heal to someone who needs it will be more beneficial then by guessing who needs the heal the most. While I understand it might be cheap, it works well if you want to win in a raid environment.

Not to be a flamer but right now with the right mix of addons, most are better then Healbot. Clique for casting, Grid for the frame, GridStatusPriority for heal priority, little [] for debuffs, or your own spells (I use it for Prayer of Mending) and a bunch of other things. Grid as for framing is far superior then Healbot's UI though Healbot is a little easier to set up. Clique just works. You set up the buttons and you go. Healbot, I'm not sure why but we always have to reload the UI or even sometimes I have to log out just to get the spells to show up on the right button.

As a resto druid that recently hit 70 and about to start raiding, I have installed Healbot and am very impressed with it.

The only slight tweak I have made to my copy (and would suggest as a useful improvement for all, especially druids), is to add a visible countdown to HoTs as well as fading the icons. I find this helps with refreshing Lifebloom and knowing when to cast Swiftmend for maximum efficiency. An extra, druid specific, tweak is that the countdown on regrowth and rejuvenation shows green for the last 3 seconds if Swiftmend is available or red if it isn't.

I won't offer my code as a patch as it's really just a hack to get it to work for me and I'm sure the developers could do it better.

Thanks again for a great addon.

Re: Re: Re: Suggestion

Thank you for the code, it is great when others take the time to improve this addon.

Your code change will be in the next release, to be posted soon.

I actually compute the time remaining on a HoT from the alpha value used to do the fading (told you it was a hack!). One limitation of this is that the countdown only starts at 10 secs, so for long HoTs over this length nothing is shown until the last 10 seconds.

I'm having the same problem.

This was also a big reason for me to switch back to version 2.3.3.11. The other thing was the inaccurate range checking in the v2.4 versions of healbot.

It seems between the v2.3 and the v2.4 versions of Healbot, there were some major changes.

As we have a often 5 MTs on Ora (occasionally 6, but rare), is there a limit to the number of tanks in the sort order??

In the past, I used to have all the tanks, then myself, folowed by a group order.

In anycase thanks for the fix (and the Hotfix Aenora can't think of everything all the time). Good work agin guys -- love oRA 2

basic question changing opacity using class colours

Can't seem to find a post on this.

I know how to color the bars by class. BUT i like the opacity features on the skin frame (like I NEED this -- make healbot superior to Grid IMHO ).

Is there a way to do this that I have been missing all this time?

Otherwise could I make a suggestion to incorporate a toggle on the skin frame to use the class colors?

Strife, I think this is a simply superb addon, but I'd like to ask for a little modification that would be of huge value for healers of all stripes: profiles. As it stands, to combine a healing spell with other commands requires a macro. A collection of macros of this kind may all need to change at once: for example in a longer fight when different abilities or items need to be activated with each healing spellcast than needed to be usd in the preceding shorter fight or fights. But without profiles, the only way to switch all of the macros is one by one between fights, something that is not really a possibility in MH for example, and difficult in other situations. I would much rather be using Healbot right now but am using Grid and Clique for this reason. I'd be very very grateful for the change, and I bet others would as well :-)

first off excellent mod I love it on my druid and priest. But i recently made a shaman and was highly disappointed to note that it did not track my shaman buffs i.e. weapon enhancements or elemental shields. If this could be changed that would be awesome or someway to add your own trackers in to keep up with buffs you care about. thanks a million for the mod.

I take full blame for this bug as when I tested my enhancement for Blizzard UI MT assignments, I did not also test with oRA. Strife was kind enough to incorporate my enhancement into his latest release, thus the bug is my fault.

The simple fix is to change line number 1297 of the version 2.4.2.0 HealBot.lua as follows:

OLD:
if CT_RA_MainTanks then return end

NEW:
if CT_RA_MainTanks or oRA.maintanktable then return end

The end result of this change is that HealBot will ignore the Blizzard UI MT assignments if you are running CTRA or oRA.

This does not address the case in which the raid leader uses CTRA or oRA2 to assign MTs, but the HealBot user is not running either of those addons. In that case, the MT assignments would still be lost unless the HealBot user loads CTRA or oRA2.

My most sincere apologies to those of you who have experienced problems with the MT assignments.
I'm more of a coding noob than I thought - I thought SOP was to edit these files with Notepad, but when I save my edits the file seems to lose linebreaks and likely other elements. I've tried saving with UTF-8 and other encoding options but I always get the same results. And I am making sure it's not appending a .txt to the end of the file. Any tips?
