HealBot Continued   

@Tatheltek: The option you seek to show pets is under the healing tab. Check the box that refers to Pets or Extras, i believe this will show you the pets in raid or party.

My issue is a bit more complex, it has to do with creating a custom targets list. Strife is looking at some options but no word on options yet.

Strife made this note:
"* New pre defined combo Ctrl+Alt+Right added to allow adding Targets to a target list, can be used for those you need to focus on."

It will create a custom group called Targets that you can select persistant targets to focus on. For instance, MT, OT and mages.

I use this feature heavily as our group relies on healing asignments/targets to reduce over healing and even the load.

With the New pre defined combo Ctrl+Alt+Right to creat the list in the new versions it is a personal issue regarding mobility so strife was reviewing options to help if possible.

Yes, well - not the one you just uploaded, but all versions prior to that.

I'm downloading and installing the latest (2.3.3.1) as I'm typing this, so I'll soon know if the problem persists...

...and it seems it does. I wiped the old directory, installed the new version. Checking the options, "Disable HealBot" is selected. But the frame is still there - no text in it, just the green and blue bar, but I get a tooltip if I mouse over it..

Clicking the box twice (i.e enable, then disable) makes the frame go away, but this seems to only be temporary. Eventually it seems it pops back up. Sometimes after a couple seconds, sometimes it takes longer.

As Rossaislen has mentioned, I also would like the ability to have player pets show up in Healbot...am I missing the option to do that? Will check this updated version...

Btw...in my book, Healbot is the best addon ever authored. Great work.


EDIT: I forgot to bring up that slowly over time, healbot will slide off my screen even if its locked...I just unlock it and move it over periodically but I thought maybe I should let you know thats happening.


To Rossaislen: I've never looked into the healbot code for how it detects when buffs are gained/fade but any addon that watches the combat log and responds will have the be "rewritten." My addon REDALERT watches the combat log for item/weapon/ability procs and alerts you that they have occured...since it looks for sentences such as "You gain Lesser Blasting" it will have to be changed when 2.4 comes out because that line will look something like "You:Buff:Lesser Blasting"

Its not a big deal, just the events that are registered will have different titles now...2.4 might actually make the associated code shorter.

In 2.3 I use this:RegisterEvent("CHAT_MSG_SPELL_PERIODIC_SELF_BUFFS"); to watch for buffs being gained (ie. "You gain Lesser Blasting)

In 2.4 I might be registering ("COMBATLOG_OBJECT_AFFILIATION_MINE"); to look for the phrase "Lesser Blasting"

The combat log changes have not been completed yet but, 2.4 will probably be on the PTR for 1-2 months so authors will have plenty of time to adapt their addons to the code changes...

@Strife, just wondering as i havnt seen a post on this.

Will the upcomming 2.4 patch effect Healbot completely or only some combat log related items like buffs/hots/debuffs?

Or nothing to worry about?

I ended up reverting back to the version that i could target the old way.

Had a thought on this however:
What about adding a drop down list that contains the raiders and pets with a check box toggle? If the box is checked they appear in the targets list.

Maybe a tab on the config or an option to display a button similar to the options link in the main heal window?

I'd just like to find a way that works for everyone.

Ever since the 2.0 version came out, it's been impossible to get rid of the Healbot window (except for very temporarily) by selecting "Disable HealBot" in the Healbot options.

If you select "Disable HealBot", the frame will initially disappear. However, soon after, the frame will re-appear, or rather, a ghost frame. It won't be properly updated with bars, etc, but it will be on screen, and you can move it, select "Options" to open the options window etc.

I'm really bummed about this part, i use this feature in every raid:

Are there any possablities for adding an option on the Spells tab that i might be able to set my middle mouse to add target to the targets list if i'd like? This is really hard to do with one hand now.

Also when not using group headers could we add a high light bourder to identify targets? would be easier as the toggle box/circle has been removed.
