Lootster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.3.2
by: Mackenz [More]

Synopsis
Lootster is a loot rolling interface that allows you to call for and capture loot roll, arbitrate ties and announce winner(s). In addition to managing simple rolls, it also manges various DKP styles, including the ability to automatically record points credited for attendance and debited for loot. For more information see the FAQ that is at the end of ##readme.htm## in the Lootster download.

Features

  • Support for raid finder loot of the same name as non-heroic/heroic loot.
  • Support for limiting wins for usage rolls (such as Called, Main-Spec Need) per raid. See FAQ for information.
  • Support for non-heroic/heroic loot of the same name.
  • Support for the new 10-man and 25-man normal/heroic raids.
  • Support for EPGP loot system. Requires upgrade of the EQDKP/NDKP Export Plugins (3.0.0.0).
  • Support for 'usage rolls', such as main-spec, off-spec, bank shard, etc.
  • Support for configurable usage roll loot costings, including a separate Alt factor.
  • Support for events, such as raid start, boss wipe, bonus time, etc.
  • Support for configurable event point awards for 10-man and 25-man raids for full, partial and standby attendance.
  • Support for automatic loot point calculations based on the Allakhazam formula, including handling of all armor tokens.
  • Support for configurable loot point calculation factors for the Allakhazam formula.
  • Support for 'standby' attendance handling, allowing players outside the raid to whisper standby status.
  • Support for detecting all bosses.
  • Streamlined bookkeeping of loot wins with the correctly costed points depending on usage roll and Alt status.
  • Better detection and separation of instance types, being dungeon, heroic dungeon, raid and heroic raid.
  • Expanded viewing of individual player attendances and adjustments, and easy 'goto' ability to see the initiating raid and boss for the attendance/adjustment.
  • Various simple roll capture modes.
  • Various point system roll capture modes.
  • Automatically record raids, bosses, attendances and loot wins.
  • Ability to easily set and/or override item points.
  • Ability to easily set your own class restrictions on items.
  • Ability to define membership (Full/Trial/Applicant) and toon types (Main/Alt) using the guild ranks and guild public notes.
  • Ability to sort player rolls by item usage, membership and toon type, in addition to the inherent point system priorities.
  • Ability to track the points for Alt(s) on behalf of a Main.
  • Ability to passively 'snoop' rolls and winners, in addition to passively recording raids, bosses, attendances and loot wins, providing 'fail safe' point management.
  • Ability to synchronise raid data, item data and restriction data with other Lootsters.
  • Numerous option settings to control what the addon does and what it records.
  • Numerous option settings to control the various loot systems.

WoW Call of the Crusade 3.2 Heroic Loot Naming
The WoW 3.2 patch introduced non-heroic and heroic loot with the same name. To support existing DKP systems (EQDKP, NDKP and Null DKP), I have chosen to differentiate the two types of loot with a " (H)" suffix on the item name of heroic items. This means that the item databases of those systems should use the same " (H)" suffix so that Lootster can correctly find and manage DKP settings and overrides for those heroic items.

WoW Hour of Twilight 4.3 Raid Finder Loot Naming
The WoW 4.3 patch introduced a new loot tier, raid finder, with the same name as non-heroic and heroic loot. To support existing DKP systems (EQDKP, NDKP and Null DKP), I have chosen to differentiate the extra type of loot with an " (RF)" suffix on the item name of raid finder items. This means that the item databases of those systems should use the same " (RF)" suffix so that Lootster can correctly find and manage DKP settings and overrides for those raid finder items.

Bug Reporting
Please use a good error catcher like Bugsack, and provide the entire error text with as much information on how to recreate the problem. Report the problem via the CurseForge ticket system to ease tracking.

Slash Commands
  • /ls - toggle display of Lootster window
  • /ls resetui - reset the position of all Lootster windows

Language Support
Although basic roll capture will work in French, German and Spanish, the additional abilities (loot capture) will not. Spanish has a partial translation (thank you to PatoDaia). If you would like to contribute a translation for this addon, let me know via private message on this site. You will be given credit for the translation.

Installation
Unzip into <WoW Directory>\Interface\Addons.

User Interface
The user interface is used to perform all functions, and call be toggled (shown/hidden) through three methods:
  1. Using the command line via the /lootster or /ls command;
  2. Using the minimap button that can be used to toggle the user interface;
  3. Using the small Lootster frame that can be used to toggle the user interface.

To reset the various frame positions if they are dragged offscreen, use the command line /ls resetui to reset their positions.

The user interface can be moved anywhere on the screen via dragging the Lootster box. If the minimap button is not used, then the small frame will be shown, and visa versa.

Hmm. There is no option to do a count every n seconds, but if you are willing you could change the code (DISCLAIMER: this is not tested, and save a copy of the file before you change it!):

In the file Lootster.lua, lines 1650 thru 1652, original code:

if (self.LastCountdownTime >= 1) then
-- decrement counter
Lootster_CountdownCount = Lootster_CountdownCount - 1;

Change to:

if (self.LastCountdownTime >= 5) then
-- decrement counter
Lootster_CountdownCount = Lootster_CountdownCount - 5;

Note that the 5 is for the 5 seconds - season to taste. Let me know how that works out for you if you try it.

Aha! This indicates you don't have 'Active calling' toggled on; this is on the Roll (first) page, up in the top left of the UI.

(This toggle exists so that Lootster will send messages when you want, else it could be spamming people all the time with all kinds of messages).

I'm trying figure out if this addon is appropriate for my guild and how to configure it if so

basically we give
10 DKP for showing up
10 DKP for each boss kill
32 extra DKP for first time boss kill (for the guild)
22 for working on a new boss
The first two you can setup in the options. The latter two you will either a) modify the kill/wipe entries in Lootster yourself, or b) your DKP website does so.

The reason for that is that Lootster does not have long-term 'memory' of bosses etc - it is up to the DKP website to keep track of that.

alternates get full DKP for the time they are available.
Given your website (or the website files for Lootster Expoort if your website doesn't track mains and alts), or the officier note for the alt indicates the main (and the Lootster options are switched to use them), then mains/alts will share the same DKP pool. Lootster will recognise when the alt joins the raid and use the above info to utilise the DKP for the main.

If you mean that there are standby players outside the instance, you can set the Lootster options to accept 'here' whispers from them to count their attendance.

DKP bids are taken via whisper to the Master looter main spec first then off spec if no body bids

winner wins item for 2nd highest bid +1

Currently when I do Master looting I use DKPbid(Link Here) and the raid tracker from guild launch and almost every time we loot someone has to take time to go check their dkp on the website before we pull I would love to use this addon for tracking everything. if it will work for our needs
Lootster does not handle DKP bidding, only various roll methods. However, given that you have setup the Lootster Export plugin for your DKP system (there is one for EQDKP and NDKP - the Null DKP system for WoW has it inbuilt), the DKP values in Lootster will be up to date (and therefore used for reference).

Also not sure if I'm doing it wrong or what but I can't seem to get the addon to whisper people their DKP totals
You have to be in raid with those people for the whisper buttons on the DKP tab to work. If they don't in raid then that is a bug - let me know in that case.

We use a 500/200/100 roll system.

500 Main Spec (First roll only)
200 Main Spec (all rolls afterwards)
100 Off Spec

Same goes for Tier.

Hmm these are much more complicated. I will put a fix in quickly since there is a LUA error which is badness. However the logic needs to be reworked.

The essence of what it is trying to do is handle the multiple usage roll situations, being 100/1000 in simple rolling or the various same-call usage rolls in DKP rolling.

It is attempting to punch out something like:

<restricted classes> roll <any roll type>, others please roll <only greed types> on [item]

That is, if it is restricted to Warriors, Warriors can roll need or greed. All other classes by definition can only roll greed-type rolls since by definition they cannot 'need' the item (it is restricted to Warriors).

I need to rework the logic and text to better reflect this. Thanks for the catch!

Found 1 more definite bug and 1 more possible one.

First, if lootster is in 100/1000 mode or Usage Mode and you call for a roll on an item with class restrictions you will get a bug about string.format on line 17987 missing the third variable. I believe the problem is that line 17939:

Code:
usagePlease = LOOTSTER_USAGENORM_LIST[LOOTSTER_ENUM_USAGE.GREED];
needs to be:

Code:
please = LOOTSTER_USAGENORM_LIST[LOOTSTER_ENUM_USAGE.GREED];
The second bug I am not sure about because I am not sure what the actual intended function of 100/1000 rolling is. Currently, if you call for a roll on loot with class restrictions in 100/1000 mode the line will look like this:

"Warriors, Shaman, and Rogues only rolling Greed, and others please roll for Need (/100) or Greed (/1000) on [item]"

I believe line 17930 should be:

Code:
elseif	(Lootster_NBG_Usage ~= LOOTSTER_ENUM_USAGE.NA) and (Lootster_NBG ~= LOOTSTER_NBG_1001000) then
so the output looks like:

"Warriors, Shaman, and Rogues roll for Need (/100) or Greed (/1000) on [item]"

Thank you again Sorian, that is a verfied fix. I will open a ticket on Curse Gaming for it. Note I changed the line number to reflect the original source code.

Looking to do a fix release this weekend.
