Advanced Trade Skill Window  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.8.0
by: Slarti [More]

ATSW is a complete replacement for Blizzards tradeskill window with more overview and special functions.

This replacement (works for all tradeskills, including enchanting!) provides you with:

- a better overview
The ATSW is bigger than the standard window, resulting in a much better overview over the thousands of items you can produce. Additionally, it lets you sort your recipes either by groups (as in the standard window), alphabetically or by difficulty. Alternatively, ATSW even lets you create your own groups and sort the recipes the way you like!
ATSW also has a filter function: enter something into the filter line and ATSW hides all recipes that don't contain the text you entered. But this filter function can do more: it's a powerful search function that can filter for minimum/maximum level requirements, producable item counts, item rarity (color) and reagents necessary. Check out the readme for details on using this function!

- more comfort
The ATSW has a production queue: you can queue several different items and have them all produced automatically by just clicking one button.
The ATSW is able to consider items you have to produce in order to use them as reagents in the production of other items. So: if you need item A to produce item B, you don't have to manually produce first item A, then item B. The ATSW does that for you: you just tell it to produce item B and it automatically queues the production of item A and - afterwards - item B. If you are missing some reagents to produce both items you get a message telling you exactly which reagents you need.
ATSW helps you telling your friends what reagents you need for a specific item: just click on a recipe with your shift-key pressed and the chat line opened and the reagent info will be added to the chat line.
ATSW shows you what reagents you need to process the whole production queue. It even tells you how many of each reagent you have in your bank, on alternative characters on the same server (in this case, it can even tell you on which characters) and which reagents are buyable from merchants. In case of buyable reagents ATSW can automatically buy all missing and available items from a merchant when you are speaking to him.

ATSW explicitly supports ArmorCraft, LS3D craft info and Fizzwidgets ReagentCost. Other addons that change the original tradeskill window will probably not work with ATSW.

v0.8.0:
- changed: ATSW updated for patch 4.0

This is also happening to me.... I get logged in for 5-10 seconds, then it freezes and soon disconnects... I turned off ATSW and had no problems... That was this morning...

Hidden Frames

I found invisible frames with the following names:

TradeSkillReagent1
TradeSkillReagent2
TradeSkillReagent3

Sometimes the number of frames change, and so the frame names are named/numbered accordingly.

They interfere with the ATSW user interface if the main ATSW frame is over those frames. In which case, tooltips for recipes covered by those frames won't appear and you cannot select those recipes if they appear in the same area on screen as the invisible frame(s). The frames themselves, TradeSkillReagent# appeared to be the reagent icons shown in the recipe above the one I had currently selected in ATSW. If the frames exist in an area where ATSW's frame isn't, then you'll still 'find' them because mouse tooltips will appear if your cursor moves over the area where they exist.

I've not (yet) figured out how to create those invisible frames - but they've appeared every game session I've had so far after installing ATSW, so it's only a matter of time before I can fully replicate it. It's also possible another addon is in conflict, but so far it looks like they're coming from ATSW, so I wanted to get the info out now as in order to get rid of the frames, you need to close and then reopen ATSW.

For some reason, ATSW is scanning my Hunter's tradeskills (LW, first aid) every single time I open them. It's not doing that on my other toons (just scanning once). I wish I could figure out the cause of the discrepancy in behavior.

Edit: Also, as of 3.1.1 ATSW's scanning of my LW skill is causing my client to freeze and then disconnect from the server. If I skip the scan I get an empty tradeskill window and/or a freeze.

I`m getting major memory leaks and freezes whenever I create more than 2-3 different items in a queue. Same when I try to use the custom ordering list.
Here`s a screenshot : http://hdimage.org/images/17xhpu9uds...2009140720.jpg

Hi !

Thanks for making such a great addon, however I have a question about a functionnality i'm looking for with an addon like that.

You can make queues, and they are saved when you log off etc. However, is it possible to save a queue in some sort of archive so that for exemple each week I could make all the items in that same queue?

I make a lot of glyphs and they are always the same, and my glyph list is huge so if I have to remake the queue every time, i'm going to go crazy ^^

Thanks for your help and time !

Would be a nice feature to have standard comparison tooltips for this addon.

This is beyond inconvenient, it's really very annoying. I've also had this issue since way before 3.1. I had switched to Skillet, but when I saw ATSW had been updated for 3.1, I reinstalled it, hoping that this issue had finally been fixed. Needless to say, it hasn't and I'm kinda peeved. I've switched professions to JC and this bug makes levelling very tedious.

You can craft with queues, but it's not as convenient.

When the first item in the queue completes, click the Continue Queue button. The first time you do this, you'll get the error message. Click OK to make it go away (or whatever your button is, I have a custom error handler). Then, close and reopen your tradeskill window.

The Process Queue button will be back. Hit it to process the next item. When that's done, Continue Queue will appear again. Click it (nothing happens this time), close and reopen the tradeskill window, and repeat.

It's incredibly annoying, but at least it lets you work with queues until we get an official fix.

Open the Crafting Window (i.e. Runeforging), switch to the main UI and enter:
/atsw disable this will disable ATSW for that skill only. Anyways, you can always manually start (or not start) ATSW by Shift-Clicking a Craft-Window. This will always do the non-standard behaviour.

Standard: ATSW enabled.
Klick: Use ATSW.
Shift-Klick: Don't use ATSW.

After entering /atsw disable for one Crafting Skill:

Klick: Don't use ATSW.
Shift-Klick: Use ATSW.

One really useful feature would be if it didn't reset item number everytime it made an item back to 1 and in fact left it at whatever the user has last typed. I make 100s of glyphs at a time and its annoying to have it process items and it constantly reset the number back to 1. Yes I know I could queue up all the items and the click make but this would slow me down somewhat.

Queueing Problems

I'm having trouble with queueing. I do a lot of jewelcrafting and I queue the production of numerous different gems at once. However, once I complete creating one gem, it does not go to the next item in my queue. When I press "continue queue", it just becomes a grayed out "process queue" button. I then have to close the trade window, reopen, and then hit "process queue" again for it to continue my queue. Is there any way to fix this?
