Advanced Trade Skill Window  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.8.0
by: Slarti [More]

ATSW is a complete replacement for Blizzards tradeskill window with more overview and special functions.

This replacement (works for all tradeskills, including enchanting!) provides you with:

- a better overview
The ATSW is bigger than the standard window, resulting in a much better overview over the thousands of items you can produce. Additionally, it lets you sort your recipes either by groups (as in the standard window), alphabetically or by difficulty. Alternatively, ATSW even lets you create your own groups and sort the recipes the way you like!
ATSW also has a filter function: enter something into the filter line and ATSW hides all recipes that don't contain the text you entered. But this filter function can do more: it's a powerful search function that can filter for minimum/maximum level requirements, producable item counts, item rarity (color) and reagents necessary. Check out the readme for details on using this function!

- more comfort
The ATSW has a production queue: you can queue several different items and have them all produced automatically by just clicking one button.
The ATSW is able to consider items you have to produce in order to use them as reagents in the production of other items. So: if you need item A to produce item B, you don't have to manually produce first item A, then item B. The ATSW does that for you: you just tell it to produce item B and it automatically queues the production of item A and - afterwards - item B. If you are missing some reagents to produce both items you get a message telling you exactly which reagents you need.
ATSW helps you telling your friends what reagents you need for a specific item: just click on a recipe with your shift-key pressed and the chat line opened and the reagent info will be added to the chat line.
ATSW shows you what reagents you need to process the whole production queue. It even tells you how many of each reagent you have in your bank, on alternative characters on the same server (in this case, it can even tell you on which characters) and which reagents are buyable from merchants. In case of buyable reagents ATSW can automatically buy all missing and available items from a merchant when you are speaking to him.

ATSW explicitly supports ArmorCraft, LS3D craft info and Fizzwidgets ReagentCost. Other addons that change the original tradeskill window will probably not work with ATSW.

v0.8.0:
- changed: ATSW updated for patch 4.0

As of late, the initial opening of the trade window has been showing previous craftable totals next to recipes. Have to close and reopen for it to show accurate numbers.

links

Also hope linking recipes and professions gets added. Was wondering as well if anyone has been able to get guild professions to work with ATSW active. Any time I click profession links, guild or otherwise it shows a blank panel.

I second this, especially because the addon I used to have for this (FreeWithMats) has been killed by its author and I really miss this functionality now that 4.0.1 bugged it. /cry

Just to clarify on exactly what functionality I mean: it's producing profession links of alts through slash commands. Like this:

/fwm cooking -> [charname x] [charname y] [charname z]
/fwm charname -> [profession 1] [profession 2]

The reason I miss this is because often in my guild I get asked if I can cut gem x or craft armor kit y when I'm not on the character that has said profession, or I happen to be on my bank alt and see a recipe that I'm not sure is already known by the character with that profession. By typing in a simple slash command I can easily access the profession window in question, without having to relog (or take a long time wading through a menu like with ARL).

If this could be implemented in ATSW, I'd really be grateful!

I find this addon completely breaks my tradeskills now. It won't show me what recipes I have the materials for, and if I do have them, clicking "Create" does nothing. I've had to turn it off until there's an update.

It would be a VERY nice improvement on your (already great) mod if it also sait the BASIC materials needed for a specific recipe. It was something SomeAssembyRequired did greatly (and CAULDRON also), until it stopped working...

Thanks for the addon!

This is a problem that Blizz introduced with the 4.0.1 patch. We all have this problem with the standard tradeskill UI as well.

Sometimes, it won't allow me to sort by category. When I try, the window is empty. Sorting by difficulty or custom still work, but category gives me an empty profession. It seems to be random - I just checked all my profs and it worked every time, but it definitely wasn't earlier, and friends have been complaining about it for days. Does this have to do with the new Blizz default filter (which itself is broken - in my tailoring window with ATSW turned off, the only filter options for slot are legs and back. I know an awful lot of recipes for other gear slots!!)?

(Edited to add more info and strange behaviour.)

Observation with a problem

And a request.

First the problem. I came to ATSW after finding out the the Lil-sparky clone of Skillet no longer works as well as his fix for original Skillet itself. I am ambivalent on his new effort called Gnomeworks over at the WoWAce site. Having tried ATSW it fulfills most of my needs with one major fault. I am trained on all my toons in all the major tradeskills and all the secondary ones and all are maxed. The major fault is with Inscriptions. The scrolling is painfully slow, and the production is equally slow. To confirm whether if the other tradeskills are affected I went through all my other toons with their respective tradeskills and none are affected as with my Scribe. Thinking about what might be the chief cause of the horrendous lagging in Inscription I played around with the Options inside ATSW. I found what I believe to be the culprit. Its the Option, " Consider buyable items when calculating the number of producible items". Turning this option off the the lag disappears. The scrolling is normal and production is normal. Hopefully this aspect in respect for Inscriptions can be fixable.

And my request. Perhaps you can include the reagent count from mailboxes? I find this important especially for my Scribe and Alchemist as I usually do flasks and scrolls in large numbers and have several hundred items in the bags isn't always practical. And the other request is it possible to support guild banks inventory as well? I made a toon solely as a guild bank toon to handle the items.

Thanks much for your efforts.

Blizzard apparently changed the way mats and bottles are purchased at vendors. We are supposed to be able to buy less than the default stack size now. I use the auto-buy feature quite a bit, but it isn't buying the correct amounts anymore. Each time it tries to buy a stack of something, it only buys one of that item. Takes quite a few tries to get what I need for a big queue.

Glyph of Death Coil bug

This is an inscription bug on the version that was available on 10/13.

There are 2 "Glyph of Death Coil" in the game, 1 DK, 1 Warlock. When I filter down to just the lock glyphs and queue up a GoDC to be made, it still tries to make the DK glyph. I have to unload the mod and make 1 in the default ui. (Three cheers for ACP!)
