Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.4.1.1628
by: Phanx, Greltok, Pastamancer
Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.

Please do not use the Bug/Feature buttons to the right, or send me PMs asking for help, reporting bugs, or requesting features. Use the links below instead!

The compact grid of units lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Need Help?

IMPORTANT: If you are using any version of Grid other than the one posted on this page — such as an alpha version from WowAce — please do not post on this page about any problems you encounter with it. Alpha versions are development snapshots, are not officially supported, and may be buggy or broken, delete your settings, or crash your game. The release (and sometimes beta) versions posted to WoWInterface.com and Curse.com are actually tested.

✤ Found a bug?
Submit a bug report to let us know about the problem so we can fix it!

✤ Problem with a plugin?
Contact the plugin’s author for help. The Grid team cannot provide support for third-party plugins.

✤ Have a suggestion?
Feel free to tell us about your idea, but please make sure there isn’t already a plugin that adds the feature you’re looking for first!

✤ Questions? Comments?
Post a comment on this page, or post in our WowAce forum thread.

Language Support

Grid is compatible with English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文 game clients.

Grid is translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano (partial), Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

Hint: The WowAce interface for adding translations is rather cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into Notepad, fill in your translations, and then paste the new data back into the system using the Import function.

Credits

Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

  • Added a By Class 40 layout
  • Added an option to use the 40-Player Raid layout while in a raid group outside of an instance

  • Changed the "Hide tab" and "Hide minimap icon" option to "Show tab" and "Show minimap icon" -- translators should verify the localization of these options

Version 5.1.0.1553
  • Updated for WoW 5.1

  • Fixed an issue causing icons to be hidden on auras with duration text or coloring enabled (ticket #644).
  • Removed backwards compatibility with WoW 4.x.
  • The Resurrect status module now uses LibResInfo-1.0.
  • Added partial Italian localization from kappesante and Holydeath1984.

  • Increased the default width of the config frame to prevent random wrapping bugs.
  • [API] Status parameter may be passed as either the traditional argument list, or as a table.
  • [API] Status "range" parameter is now treated as a boolean, not a number.

Version 4.3.4.1485-beta
  • Added a new Resurrect status module.
    • Please report any and all issues with this to the WowAce ticket tracker!
    • If you use the GridStatusRes plugin, you should disable it, or unassign its "Incoming resurrection" and "Resurrected" statuses from all indicators.
    • Core support for Soulstones will be added in a future release.
  • Fixed range checking on dead units (ticket #566).
  • Fixed the options for removing custom auras (thanks jlam).
  • Fixed an issue that caused some Frame settings not to be updated when switching to another profile (ticket #556).
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused borders and text to appear blurry or distorted when UI scaling is disabled.

  • Added options for showing duration and/or stack count using the status color and/or text (ticket #421, patch provided by Jlam).

  • Updated embedded libraries

Version 1.40000.1400-beta
  • This is a beta release.
  • The options frame layout has been improved. Note that some plugins (such as those that add new indicators) may cause the options layout to break to some degree until they are updated.
  • Fixed a bug causing frames and groups to be misaligned (ticket #447).
  • Buffs with "Show mine" selected will no longer display for units out of visible range (ticket #438).
  • Buffs with "Show when missing" selected will now correctly display on icon indicators (ticket #412).
  • Third-party modules will now be correctly included in the Debug menu.
  • Added an option to toggle the drop shadow effect on the center text indicators.

  • Grid now correctly detects when players disconnect or reconnect.
  • A minimum value option has been added to the Incoming Heals status. Use it to filter out small heals, such as HoT ticks.

Version 1.40000.1361-alpha
  • Pets other than your own should now be displayed.

Version 1.40000.1360-alpha
  • Updated for Patch 4.0.1 and Cataclysm
  • Typing "/grid" will now open a real configuration UI.
  • Incoming heal data is now obtained from the WoW client itself. LibHealComm-4.0 is no longer supported.
  • Converted from Ace2 to Ace3. Plugins that require Ace2 but don't embed it will fail; install Ace2 standalone while you wait for plugin authors to update.

status colors ... units

* Grid version (60898) downloaded from wowinterface.com 05/04/2008
* WoW version (2.4.1)
* Problem:
Status colors always show in the "unknown unit" color. No class colors show at all. I downloaded twice just to be sure.

"Use class color" is checked in all the options boxes. When I change the color for "unknown unit" the colors for text, etc. also change.

This is my first time using Grid, and I haven't done anything except load it. There are no error messages ... I have lua error reporting on ... just the units all seem to be "unknown".

-------------------

Deleted the WTF files and reinstalled Grid and the problem vanished. Don't know why. So it goes.

Well my problem was very stupid but I may as well share with anyone who encounters the same thing.

Grid downloaded for me with the option 'hide plugin' checked, this causes it to be disabled for visibile purposes i.e showing up on clique.

Noob out

I hate afk'ers no matter what they are doing. This addon needs a config mode.

Latest update seems to cause issues with Clique, making it so the left mouse button bind merely selects the target on grid, not use the binded action.

Grid - Current Target Box?

I love Grid. In fact, I pretty much turn off all the party frames now and just use Grid. One thing I would love is to know if there is a way to have a Grid box appear with my current selected target. Maybe even another box with my focus target too.

Mostly, this is also due to the fact I use Clique a lot with Grid. So when I target someone not in my party or raid, I would love to be able to buff them, heal them, etc.. without jumping to my casting bar (which remains mostly hidden thanks to Grid/Clique).

Any chance of this?

Thanks!!!

My Grid doesn't seem to be showing the correct number of players in BGs. When I'm in AV for instance, it only shows 20 people. I've adjusted the frame size to 40. However, if I change the Frame to By Class, it does show everyone. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.
