This is a relatively simple modification of the minimap to allow adjustment of the shape, transparency, visibility of certain default buttons, scroll-wheel zooming, coordinates display, etc.

Right-click anywhere on the mini-map to display the options menu.

I've made some big behind-the-scenes changes in this version, please read all of these notes.

- Removed FuBar code, there's no need for a minimap button anymore, and that's all I was using FuBar for.
- The position settings are now saved by the UI in the layout cache. Because of this, the minimap initially positions itself in the middle of the screen. I don't want to "fix" this because until you position the minimap the UI doesn't save anything.
- /rmm config or right-clicking the minimap brings up the config menu.
- The first option in the config menu is now "Lock".
- - When this is unchecked, the minimap can be dragged to any position on the screen.
- - The standard minimap buttons can also be dragged around when lock is unchecked. The buttons hug the border of the minimap no matter what shape is selected, but changing shapes doesn't snap out of position buttons (you have to drag them a little). I'm kind proud of this! :)
- - Because the minimap is draggable now, the top gap and right gap options have been removed from the config menu.

To do:
The quest timer, quest watcher and durability paper doll frames are not yet draggable.
The tracker button is big again, when it's resized to match the other buttons, the scale is off for moving it. I'm working on a solution.

As always, let me know if you run into any issues.

- Fixed the FuBar issue
- Added a reset slash command, to reset everything to the defaults
- Added a transparency option. Note that transparency of the minimap has issues if you're not "outdoors" so the minimap automatically sets itself back to 1 if you go into a location the game considers to be indoors. Once to go back to an outdoor area, the transparency is set back to your choosen value.

NOTE: This addon is not currently compatible with Detached Minimap Buttons. The problem lies with DMB's code; see the changelog for that mod and note all of the specific changes the author has had to make for other minimap mods. I've asked the author to take a look at adding a fix to his mod for RMM too. :)

In the near future, I plan to make the standard minimap buttons dragable and I'm experimenting with making the entire minimap cluster dragable too. Don't ask when it'll be ready, I'm taking a tiny break from coding so I can actually play the game again. :P

Warning: When FuBar is loaded, the minimap sometimes moves to a random location near the middle of the screen (this doesn't happen when FuBar is disabled). If this happens to you, just open the config menu and mouse down to the Gap options, the minimap will move back where it's supposed to be (which is weird all by itself) and stay there for the rest of the session. I don't know why this happens, but I thought it was minor enough that I should release this version with the requested fixes rather than hold off while I figure out what FuBar is doing to my minimap.

I fixed the problems with ACE libraries when this was the only ACE addon in use.
I added the ability to move the coordinates text below the minimap.
- When it's below the minimap it has a background.
- When the minimap shape is rounded bottom left, the coordinates are shifted to the right, otherwise they're centered.
- The zoom buttons overlap the coordinates when they're below the minimap, so don't do that. :D
I've also replaced the temporary square minimap image with one of my own.

This has been tested with no other addons enabled, and with all of the addons I use enabled, and no errors have popped up for me. I've added everything I plan to add, so unless someone has a bug to report, this one is done. ;)

All ACE libraries now included, so no more error messages if no other ACE addons are loaded. I've also added options for a fully square and the default round shapes.   • Toggle showing your location value
  • Toggle showing the name of the zone you're in

  • Choose the top gap in 2 pixel increments
  • Choose the right gap in 2 pixel increments

Also:
  • Enables mouse wheel zooming
  • Hides the other fluff around the minimap and snugs it up against the top right corner

Settings are saved universally, not per character or server.

Hi Rico!

My guess about the missplaced items (out of screen, etc...):
After updating from "handles on top" version to "handles in the middle" version, I noticed the map and other items all moved up by half of their size. I suppose this is because the coordinates stored in the prefs are not changed by the new version at first run, so the items now stick their "middle" on the old "top" coordinates still stored in prefs.
(I'm very sorry if my english is confusing - french speaking, here ^^)

Hope my words will help to understand the situation.
Don't blame me if you discovered the thing before me :-)

By the way, your addon is very good job. I appreciate it!

curse client mess up

Hi Rico. I love your minimap and I realize your probably don't have this mod on curse for a reason but I still use the curse client to update my mods. Curse doesn't detect "r21524" as the most recent version.. it's picking up a "r79378.2" version as mot resent and if a curse client user updates to that version.. well it's not compatible with 4.0.1. I couldn't figure out where on Curse to submit this issue, but just thought you should know incase you know and can get it resolved.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread.
Turns out I didn't have an issue at all. Titan panel was covering up the mover. DOH!
I had turned off the titan panel option long ago for auto moving the minimap position as it conflicted with 3x and caused RicoMM to stretch to fullscreen.....

I Didn't realize the entire map surface could no longer be click-drug into position.

Ok, I think I see what you're trying to say. Because the mover was at the top of the minimap cluster (which includes things above the border of the minimap, even if they're hidden) you couldn't place the top border at the top of the screen.

This isn't a bug, and I don't appreciate the way you communicated this request, but I changed it anyway. In this new release the mover handles are centered in each movable frame instead of being placed at the top.

If your minimap is moved to the upper right corner when you first log in after updating (it happened on a few of my characters, but not all of them) just do a /rmm reset and move them back. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I haven't discovered why this happens sometimes. Once you move the minimap and associated frames, you shouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

I can't replicate any of this... What happens when RMM is the only addon you have enabled? What is your screen resolution, etc? When you unlock, you don't see the red mover handle for the minimap?

Upgraded to the new version , map size shrunk, and moved to the right, slightly off screen. The unlock feature does not allow me to move the map, just unlocks the movers for the other 3 windows. I can re-size the map, but making it large enough for my screen rez puts it off screen. Tried re-instaling and deleting the saved variables.

The height of the mover for the quest watch frame is actually set to WatchFrame:GetTop() - CONTAINER_OFFSET_Y when RMM first loads.

What this means is that when RMM loads, it basically sets the new height to be the top of the watch frame to the bottom of your screen. If your watch frame was somehow moved near the bottom of your screen before RMM loads, it would get set to a shorter height than normal.

Mine show about 12 or 13 quests at a time, I was actually thinking about putting an upper limit on the height because it runs into my chat frames when I have a bunch of quests going at the same time.

Since the mover for the watch frame was added a release or two ago, it set the height of it too low, and therefore all of your tracked items are getting cut off. Try the following script and see if it helps:

/script WatchFrame_Update(WatchFrame)
Set that height number to whatever works for you. I set mine to 1000, but less will probably work okay depending on your display. You can see the size of it if you unlock your ricominimap.

Oh! I'm a doofus. Thanks! I think one of the addons I removed made the minimap think it's locked. I toggled it locked and unlocked again, and got them.

i dunno if it's just me, or some addon that i installed, but since i updated to the newest version my quest tracker, the default one, only shows 2 quests now. if i try to downgrade i get errors. i just disabled the addon and logged in and tracked all my quests and they all showed up. but when i turn it back on i only see two of 13 tracked..
