I responded to the post about copying some of ItemRack's functionality over on Curse. Mirroring my post here:

------------------------
This is what I miss from ItemRack, as well. I downloaded Outfitter hoping that it would do this.

Basically it just used to allow you to pull a "slot" out and then when you hover over it, it would show the pullout for that slot like you do already in the paper doll frame. So the pullout behavior is slightly different from yours where you have to click it, then it shows the pullout, then you choose the item. I'm fine with either way; I just want my slot pullouts back .

In my case, I have a few tanking weapons and might want to swap idols or trinkets situationally, so I used to like to have Main Hand, Ranged, and the two Trinket slots pulled out.

I hope you can do this!

Thanks for sharing, hopefully that'll help others encountering the same problem.

You just need to update your Outfitter, the error is caused by the fishing script trying to use functions that Blizzard removed in 4.0 (because of the tracking menu changes).

I thought logging out in The Exodar would help since there are all of 8 people in the entire city right now, but apparently not.

New bug, might be related to changing icons.

don't think it's an outfitter issue...the cannot find item bug...it occurs for me when the game has not yet downloaded the data for the item you are trying to equip...look thru your items(the ones you are trying to equip and the ones you currently have equipped) and see if on mouseover there is one that is still "Retrieving Item Data"...this problem can occur for several reasons...one of which is your cache got corrupted...a second of which is that the game simply has not got around to downloading the data for that particular item yet...which occurs most often right after a major patch...especially one like this where most items got altered in some fashion....

in any case, this is more than likely not outfitter error...but a glitch with WoW itself...

You can try
/outfitter reset

to clear your outfits and settings. You won't lose outfits that are stored in the EM (though you'll have to re-attach scripts to them). Outfits not in the EM will be lost and you'll have to re-create them.

I don't have any other suggestions for fixing the problem you're seeing. So far Outfitter has worked on all of my toons without losing anything. Something, somehow, got borked in your Outfitter config I suspect.

As for disabling the EM, it sounds like Blizzard removed the option.

I never use the bar, so it's turned off, so sadly the problem persist even with the bar turned off.

But yes I think you are right that Blizzard is doing it wrong by Hardcoding the FrameLevel of that frame,
it should have been adjusted according to the parent's FrameLevel.

I think I'm starting to understand what's happening. I think it's that Blizzard adjusts the frame levels automatically when a new frame is attached to UIParent. The only Outfitter frame I can think of which attaches to UIParent is the outfit bar. Does the problem go away if you turn off the outfit bar?

Mostly this sounds like a bug in Blizzard's own code -- they shouldn't be hard-coding a frame level to set on that cooldown frame, they should be setting it relative to its parent (or whatever frame they're trying to ensure it's above).

On the other hand, Outfitter's top-level frames should be getting added after Blizzard's are loaded and so should not be pushing their frame levels up anyhow.

Okay I did what you asked, this is with ONLY Outfitter enabled.

As you can see LFDParentFrame is now at FrameLevel 6 ... then take a look again at the before posted pictures,
there you clearly see that running with all my addons turned on LFDParentFrame is at FrameLevel 1,
so just by Enabling Outfitter LFDParentFrame changes FrameLevel from 1 -> 6 ...
I do acknowledge that part of the problem is that there are some sort of conflict between probably some Ace libraries ....

But you most acknowledge that Outfitter is affecting the FrameLevel of LFDParentFrame ...
no addons running it's at FrameLevel 1, Outfitter (solo addon) it's at FrameLevel 6,
all my addons running (Outfitter disabled) it's at FrameLevel 1,
all my addons including Outfitter it's at FrameLevel 28.

You can do with this information as you please,
I'm not posting it to be a jerk, I like having Outfitter,
but something in the code of outfitter is affecting the FrameLevel of LFDParentFrame,
and a conflict with what probably will turn out to be an Ace Library is making the problem even worse.

A quick test, I did while writing this:

Outfitter + Omen = LFDParentFrame FrameLevel 9

Outfitter + Bartender4 = LFDParentFrame FrameLevel 12

Outfitter + BonusScanner Continued 5.3 + Bartender4 + Omen + Recount + PallyPower = LFDParentFrame FrameLevel 23

Re: Outfittere now on 4 Live

That behavior usually means that an error occurred somewhere in Outfitter and the equipment change code got shut down (or failed to initialize). See if 5.0.2 fixes it and let me know if it doesn't. Use an error mod or turn on the built-in error reporting (under Help in the Interface settings, iirc) to capture the error.

Thanks Alyred - I've been having fun with my o.p. Arcane spec

5.0.2 fixes the outfit bar menu problem, but I haven't heard of the LDB problem before. Which bar mod are you using so I can try to repro it?

Another couple of issues I haven't seen mentioned yet...

When interacting with Outfitter using LDB (and the minimap icon as well, I think) not all outfits are appearing in the list. It appears a bit truncated at 6 or so options... couldn't find a way to change it.

The outfit bar also doesn't allow right-clicking to bring up the mini-menu. I'm unable to change the scale or lock it in place.

Thanks for your work, Mundocani. Hope you have some time to enjoy the new game features yourself.
