Thank you very much for resuming the distribution of Outfitter. I've been a long time fan of this addon, and I really appreciate how Outfitter has developed into such a great addon.

I am going to miss Outfitter, because it has features Blizzard's implementation will not have, such as auto-generating sets based on a stat bias and event-driven set switching.

But I'm sure your gameplay is as inane as your reasoning, so you won't miss it. You tell one developer that they have no rights in WoW, and then chastise another for "whining" when they exercise their right to assert their opposition by boycotting WoW addon development. Stop freakin whining! By your reasoning, as an Outfitter addon user, you have zero rights, too. And if you don't use Outfitter, your insubstantial whining here over their whining is pure-fail, brass-plated lol.

Greywolf you are a giant jackass.

Superfula if you really think blizzard will manage to make their equipment manager as good (or even a very small fraction as good) as Outfitter, you probably think

OBAMA IS GOING TO BRING CHANGE.

Good Luck there buddy

Why delete the current version?

This addon is currently only a 0-byte code file and TOC. Everyone should report it as bad and just let WoWI remove it.

For those that believe Bliz has acted honorably: at no time did they discuss this with ANY of us. Ever. They simply dropped a bomb. We went from "It's ok" to "you're banned" without any warning.

If you are going to punish someone, don't you think you need to set up ground rules first? You don't just punish someone if they break a rule that you have never stated to them.

That is not how you treat either customers or value add partners.
Wow, that's quite the 'holier than though' attitude. Why in the hell would they discuss this with you, or any other addon maker for that matter? It's THEIR product. Your addon doesn't exist without their product, therefore, you have ZERO rights in the WoW world.

And as for the Outfitter guy....stop freakin whining! Quite ironic about this, considering your addon will be rendered useless once 3.1 drops.

I've gotta post this here as well. people don't seem to be understanding the basic concept of the word "Donation" so let me explain it to you..

Donation
1. The act of giving to a fund or cause.
2. A gift or grant.

ie. Non Compulsary!

No one's forcing you to Donate money to these authors! And why shouldn't they ask for a Donation to compensate for THEIR time and effort put into makin addons for you to use?!? I'm sure, you sure as hell don't mind using their addon so quit judging them just because they ask for a little something in return. pfft.

Failin that, quit whining, stop using the addon and go write your own from scratch without using any of this addons code!

I think its fair to remove the Donation spam from within the addon itself, i also think its fair to have a Donation button on the hosting website for that addon as well.

I love when people pop in with statements that have absolutely nothing to do with Mundocani. He hasn't asked for donations in a while so he said.

He hasn't stopped because of not being able to get donations.

Thats directed at Brakken (the rude guy) and seyss (the person who decided not to read)

I think blizzard implementing their own versions of good addons is stupid. I think them offering a job to the addon author or buying it from them would have been a far better thing to do. They always manage to mangle a perfectly good idea.

But of course Blizzard would never willingly give somebody money, oh no. Somebody getting what they deserve is just plain rude...

Cool Farewell and thank you

I have to admit ignorance on this, i'm unaware of the policy blizz has put in place that affects you guys and gals who write these addons in your freetime to help better the game for us all.

Alot of these addons are considered my many to be a vital part of the game and you have to wonder why they weren't released as part of the game in the first place. Some do get added into the game at some later point like ScrollingCombatText and now Outfitter with the release of the next patch.

This is testiment that the addons you write are that good they are considered to be an integral part of the game. I just hope that Blizzard recognise that if it wasn't for you developers creative ideas we'd still be stuck with a vanilla based wow.

I don't know if Blizz approach you to acknowledge your achievements and thank you for the ideas.. I somehow doubt it.

People are always quick to critize but never to thank. So in saying that i just wanted to thank you for all your time and hard effort put into making this addon and all you other addon authors that are following the same path, it was much appreciated by myself and no doubt alot of others.

Thank you! and safe travels friend.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I use this mod since DAY ONE and can't live without it.

Blizzard did not prohibit asking for donations at the mod WEBSITE, so you can still display the link to your website in WoW.. please consider this man.

Mod Devs stop crying

It must be nice to have money coming in off the back of a game in which you had nothing to do with. What if Blizzard does what Apple did with the iphone and makes an App store, call it the Add-on store. Would you consider making mods in that type of environment where blizzard was getting a piece of the profit?

You have to put yourself in Blizzards position and realize that this game is their pride and joy and they don't want their player base to see 15 donation messages and donation button popups every time they log into their game because that person chose to download addons. Their only solution in the end will be to disallow addons completely and nobody wants that.

I think mod developers should just suck it up and either stop making your mod or get together with these UI websites and have them place donation buttons for each developer on their respective pages.

I'd just like to say that I'm disappointed in your decision. I've carefully read through the newly posted Blizzard policy, and I agree with it completely.

Also, you agreed to the Wowinterface policies when you decided to upload your work here, and to then find a way to 'get around' what you agreed to is less than honorable.

Don't sweat the compilation. Hopefully Blizzard will resolve this issue before 3.1 hits anyhow and I can go back to doing what I love -- designing and writing addons to make my gameplay and that of my friends and of the community more fun. God knows we could all use a little more fun these days.
