cgCrafty  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.0.67
by: chuckg [More]

Features:
- Search *all* tradeskill / crafting windows
- Search by name, reagent, required tools or for which recipes you have materials
- Link reagents/materials for an recipe to chat
- Hooks into the existing UI to be as lightweight as possible, loading only when requested
- Plays nicely with Autocraft
- Offers 'fastenchant' functionality that hides the enchant overwrite confirmation dialogue

Description:

There are a lot of different mods out there that have similar functionality, but they all either add too many features or don't have the right one. If you're looking to add a simple search to your tradeskill/crafting windows, cgCrafty should fit that niche perfectly.

cgCrafty offers search functionality to your crafting/tradeskill windows in a lightweight, unobtrusive way. The mod will add a small window attached to the bottom of the currently open crafting/tradeskill window. As of version 2.0, you may also link the required reagents/materials required in order to construct/craft the selected item to chat. cgCrafty will not hook into or capture any events until you've actually opened either of the crafting or tradeskill windows. It is written for speed, efficiency and most of all, usability.

To turn off the mod or access fastenchant, check out the slash commands: /cgc or /cgcrafty

Exactly!

1.11

1.11 did indeed fixed the issue with enchanting.

Not sure if it added a problem however, if I do a search on reagents int he enchanting window (only tested it so far with the word nexus) it works then wow locks up.

Can repeat this time and time again, will play to see if I can find out if its another mod not playing nice or 100% this one

Update on enchanting window bug, patch 1.11: attempt to index local 'filterText' (a nil value)
It looks to me that the patch quelled the nasty little bug with opening the enchanting window. I'd be appreciative of any other confirmations that it's gone, I've been known to miss bugs on my end.

Hi Chuck
I was playing around with this lovely add on and had an idea. Now I'm aware that a "user with an idea" is one of the three IT nightmares , but...any chance of being able to filter recipes on bonus?

So I could look which of my tailor recipes give, say, spell damage. Or which smithing plans add AGI? Not sure how feasible this is, but...anyroad. No hurry.

Rayfack and sheepsheep: Someone reported this to me a day or so before your own posts in the bug reports, but I thank you for your confirmation. My system took a hard knock'n, so I've been waiting on Newegg to follow through with their "guranteed" delivery. In either case, I've got some ideas on how to fix the problem, just need some alone time w/ the code. Sometimes it gets sassy and I have to show it who's boss, whips and chains aside.

Keep an eye out for a fix in the next few days. As for a workaround, just open up *any other tradeskill window* (first aide, cooking, or any of the other trade professions) before enchanting, and it should fix the error; or at least avoid it.

I don't use SortEnchant, but I get a similiar error every time I open my enchanting window...Interface/FrameXML/UIDropDownMenu.lua:728: attempt to index local 'filterText' (a nil value). I don't have a FrameXML folder anywhere of course. I noticed that the drop down menu it refers to is the one within your search box (name, reagent, needs), as the drop down menu doesn't show up in the cgCrafty frame when I load up my Enchanting window, only when I go to my other toons and load up something like Alchemy, etc.

Also, whenever I try to do a search or have something in the search box and click on enchant within my Enchanting window, I get a CgCrafty.lua: 296" 'for' limit must be a number. I sure wish I had search capability within my Enchanting Window.

Otherwise, thanks for a lovely add-on, for the other professions.

Re: Fizzwidget's Autocraft

Jayhawk, it does indeed hide my poor little addon behind the extended TradeSkill window. However, the fix is simple and I'll be including some nice playalong code for AutoTradeSkill in the next release. I should have it out tonight or tommorow, pending another nasty little bug I've found.

As for where to post stuff like that, I guess it could fall under the "features" request or even "bug report", but I'm not going to be anal about where you posted. I'm just glad people are getting some use out of my addon.

Fizzwidget's Autocraft

Hello, I really like this mod. It's ever so useful, but... I'm using Fizzwidget's Autocraft, which extends the height of the default trade window. I get a feeling this makes your lovely little addon hide behind the window.
Do you have any suggestions as to how to fix this?

PS. I hope this is the correct spot for this question/remark. Apologies if it isn't.

The [S]earch button submits a search, while the [R]eset button resets the current search back to the default listing. Disabling the addon through the "/cgc standby" will also reset any searches you have currently active. You may also simply type the search text into the textbox and hit enter to start a search.

Re: Thanks

Admralpancake, I wrote it specifically for alchemy. I constantly have people in guild asking "what uses xxx mat" or "what does xxx potion take" and spending 4 minutes scrolling up and down the list looking for that one potion that you know you have but you can't find.Eventually, I'd give up and just use thottbot. But not anymore!
