FinderReminder

Version: 1.7
by: tardmrr [More]

FinderReminder: An addon to remind finders to track the things they wish to find.

FinderRemind is an Ace Addon that reminds the user at the usual times when a tracking skill would be turned off (like after you resurrect) to turn a tracking skill back on. It presents a window with all your tracking abilities that you can click on to activate. If you're thinking "that would get real annoying in a battleground," then don't fret! FinderReminder has an option to turn off reminders while in a battleground.

FinderReminder is not just for hunters! In fact, it was written to remind herbalists and miners to not forget, but was expanded to work for hunters and other classes or races that have tracking abilities.

Big thanks to Cair for helping me test this with a hunter since I don't have one.

I really like this addon, but something like a "prio1" tracking skill that autocasts after ressurect would rock ;-) any chance that this will be implemented? (was thinking of f.e. my hunter in WSG: every ress i need to enable track humanoids)

That I just didn't know existed. I'll update as soon as I find the spell info.

Sure! I actually forgot that it existed. Gimme a few minutes to find the localized names and I'll get a new version uploaded.

Any chance additional 'smart' support could be added in for the various tracking skills similar to what's been done for battlegrounds? For example, there are no chests in Zul'Gurub, Molten Core or Blackwing Lair. It would be awesome if FinderReminder didn't remind me to activate Treasure Finding in those raid zones. Same thing with Herb Finding, which isn't usable in most raid/dungeon zones.

I'm going to have a more time to work on this next week and this is one thing I'll be looking at. In the meantie, you can turn it off on your druid from the addons menu or by using ace's profile system.

Ah. Was under the impression that prior versions did not do this; was likely cross-referencing FindRemind .

That mod doesn't allow you to choose what tracking ability to reinstate. But it always put back the prior tracking ability correctly. The code of that mod may (or may not) be something to reference.

I honestly changed *nothing* in the "Show popup" code. The only change I made was to compensate for a change blizzard made in the popup code. They switched the order two calls and it ended up with their code resizing the frame *after* mine so it would be too small.
Well whatever happened, it works now (possibly an addon supressed it then was fixed). Yay for ace based tracking reminders

However the box seems to change size, sometimes it's similar to other popup messages (the default ones, like 'are you sure you want to delete this item' , but still larger than it should be), sometimes they all seem larger than usual.
This is a known bug and I'm looking into it. Do note that it's purely cosmetic.

I am having the same problem - I am using the American version of the client.

I'm not sure why, but even though FinderReminder is checked off on my addons list, my game does not seem to recognise that it is enabled. I tried using the slash command to turn the mod off in BGs, but my client did not recognise it as a command and gave me the standard "type /help for help" response.

Any idea what other mods could be suppressing FinderReminder?
