RedRange  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v1.2-30000
by: Iriel [More]

Version 1.2-30000 is for WoW 3.x -- it wont work on wow 2.x

RedRange is yet another addon which reds out standard ActionButtons when they're out of range, mostly useful if you've got the extra buttons enabled or if you dont notice just the shortcut key color change.

This is short and sweet and in theory very efficient (It follows the same guidelines as the standard UI with respect to update speed etc, though it's better on a bar switch than the standard UI).

Keeps me sane! And when I tried to find something with this functionality on Curse, I got directed to a Warhammer Online mod.

Thanks so much, Iriel!

I don't know about PTR but it works perfectly fine on live (3.09). I'm using in with Dominos btw.

RedRange isn't working with Dominos(don't know about any other bar addon) on the 3.1 PTR; it just stays red for any range :P

Using zBar3, which only reds out the hotbar number display and not the icon, I tried "ButtonRange" - it worked but not well. So then I tried this, RedRange and it works perfectly with zBar3. Thank you.

I tried this "ButtonRange" but had a problem with it showing actions in range that should've been not in range, use to use ActionButtonRecolor, but now use this RedRange and it's not using a lot, works fine actually; so, thanks for making it and keeping it up to date Iriel.

I've also noticed this.

For such a small addon, the CPU cycles go nuts on it.

For now I'm disabling until I can find a replacement. I'm a fanatic of how much of a footprint my mods leave weather it's memory or CPU.

Well, im not in touch to LUA coding, but maybe this little quick and dirty editing is helpful.

1. Open RedRange.lua
2. Edit line 53 and 54 with those values:

Code:
icon:SetVertexColor(1.0, 1.0, 1.0);
normalTexture:SetVertexColor(1.0, 1.0, 1.0);
Or use 0.8, 0.1, 0.1 for coloring those icons in red, too

There are no options afaik, so you have to edit the Lua to remove that. I'm no programmer but maybe someone can just show which rows to comment out or remove for you.

how too make the blue disaper

Hello there,

I like this addon very much, but i would like it to be just red when im out of range, not going blue when i have to little rage to hit (i play warrior).

Is there anyway to turn off the blue color ?

thnx

I encountered I small coloring bug or inconstancy:
If an ability like a Paladin judgement isn't active and a possible target is out of range, the keymap number will be drawn in red but not the whole frame.
Note that I use Dominos so I don't know if it is inconsistent to the standard UI or to Dominos behaviour.
